Introduction to My Willow Creek Co. Review…
I am loving this company!! Willow Creek Company is an online store selling 100% soy candles. Their selection ranges from 3 jar sizes to votives and clamshell tarts which is great for candle and melt lovers alike. So far, I’ve tried 3 fragrances with several more to go and I’m really enjoying what I’ve sampled so far.
Willow Creek has a nice website that is easy to navigate through. Their selection is decent so it was a piece of cake picking out all the scents I wanted to try. I didn’t really have anything specific in mind so I picked out “this and that” till I had a variety of fragrances ranging from floral, bakery, down to my favorite fruity scents. In this review, I’ll be centering on Spring Bloom, Love Affair & Cantaloupe Blossoms.
What do my Willow Creek candles look like?
Spring Bloom is in a 9oz style Cracker Jar, the wax color is light pink and this candle was double wicked. Love Affair is a 5oz jar with a plastic lid, the wax color is peach with one wick. The Cantaloupe Blossom votive is pink/peach in color.
How did My Willow Creek candles smell?
Spring Bloom:
If you like floral scents but on the softer side, you would love Willow Creeks Spring Bloom scent. It was a light and airy floral fragrance that was easy to burn giving a pleasant and soft scent throw. I burned this candle in my bedroom, the fragrance was perfect there filling the room easily but didn’t seem to travel farther than that room. In this case, I liked that. It was nice walking into my bedroom and smelling the flowery fragrance but once I left, I couldn’t smell it anymore. So I guess you could say this fragrance is light to medium in scent strength. Here is the scent description from Willow Creeks website:
“An exquisite blend of ripe fruits and sweet florals. Beautiful rose, jasmine and lilac are surprisingly blended with peach, and coconut with back notes of sheer musk and sandalwood.”
This really is a beautiful fragrance and I think I found it so easy to burn because it has a mixture of fruit, musk and sandalwood in it too. I seem to have an easier time burning floral scents that have fruity notes mixed in. I really couldn’t smell rose but I could smell the jasmine and lilac. This is a very feminine fragrance and perfect for spring and summer. I do suggest it for those who enjoy floral scents or for those venturing into the floral realm for the first time and want something light to medium in strength. This was a winner.
Love Affair:
Mmmmm, I loved this scent, a lot! It’s very romantic and a wonderfully soft and musky type fragrance I really enjoyed. I liked this candle burning best in my master bathroom. It was a small 5oz candle so due to size, I couldn’t burn it in too big of a room, so bathroom it went where the scent was perfect. The scent strength was medium so I bet a larger candle would fill a bigger room with fragrance pretty easily. Here is the scent description for Love Affair from Willow Creeks website:
“A seduction of the senses. Tahitian vanilla, spun sugar, sweet musk and subtle hints of exotic spices create the ultimate combination of innocent and sexy.”
I will definitely purchase this candle again, for sure. I’m not a huge musk fan but do like to burn them on occasion and this one was perfect. Not super musky, loved the sweet notes in there and loved the vanilla too. It’s a hard fragrance to break down and describe but I guess if I had to, I would say it reminded me of perfume. This was a definite winner in my book. If you like vanilla or musky scents, give this one a try, it’s a good one.
Cantaloupe Blossoms:
Ah! I loved this fragrance, love-love-loved it! This was one of the best cantaloupe scents I’ve ever smelled. When I first got this votive and smelled it, I regretted like you wouldn’t believe not getting this one in a jar. Here is the scent description for Cantaloupe Blossoms:
“Summer at its best! Sweet, clean and fruity. Ripe cantaloupe melon mingles with the newly opened blossoms of the vine.”
Definitely sweet, clean and fruity. I have no idea what blossoms on the vine are and couldn’t really smell floral at all and it doesn’t matter because this fragrance was so sweet and absolutely lured me in. I also didn’t think it smelled like the classic cantaloupe fragrances out there either. It was just different and oh so wonderful.
Totally give this fragrance a try, it’s incredible and I loved it. Definitely two thumbs up.
How Did My Willow Creek Candles Burn?
My candles burned pretty good. No soot or smoke, I just had to trim my wicks often. My votive burned a little sooty but only because I didn’t trim the wick enough and the flame got really big. If you buy votives from this company, trim your wicks often. Otherwise, excellent candles and they burned great.
Overall Opinion of My Candles and Willow Creek:
I highly recommend this company and can’t believe I hadn’t tried them until now. I scored big time with all the fragrances I chose and it’s looking like I would buy every one of them again. They have unique scents and plenty of styles to choose from. Another plus is free shipping over $65.00, I love websites that offer free shipping deals and it always lures me back for more if I like the candles.
My order shipped super fast and Shannon, the owner of Willow Creek, answers emails and questions in a timely manner so customer service is excellent. I have more candles to burn from this company so watch for more reviews from me, I think Willow Creek can potentially become a definite favorite of mine. 🙂
Happy candle burning!

I love, love, love your glazed pear and brown sugar candles! Wondering why you discontinued and if you will bring them back EVER?
