First impression of Wild Madagascar Vanilla:
I am super late reviewing this candle but what can I say…. this is a scent I wanted to savor like a fine wine. So, I took my time with this one. It’s not your average vanilla fragrance either. It’s not sweet, it’s not classic and it’s definitely not a vanilla you want to take a bite out of and eat. Nope…. Wild Madagascar Vanilla is a fragrance you want to indulge in and burn on a romantic evening with your honey pie or a scent you want to wear out on the town. It’s pure sophistication and sexy as hell. It’s still available in their entire bath & body line and I bet it’s a great seller because it really is a beautiful and sultry vanilla.

Smelling this candle, it really was sophisticated and gorgeous. It smelled like a sweet and heavy perfume you want to dab on your wrists and neck. It smelled like romance and passion. What stood out the most to me… musk. Cold sniff, I wasn’t really picking up on floral notes. I noticed musk and vanilla the most. It was sultry and sinful. I actually picture this as a Victoria Secret kind of fragrance radiating off their models… you’ll know what I mean when you smell it. And boy is the wax strong cold… I have a feeling this will be a room filler.

Boy, this candle performed above and beyond my expectations. It didn’t take long to start noticing the scent once I lit the candle and within 20 minutes, it was full room saturation. This scent was mega strong! The aroma even traveled outside my bedroom into my great room and beyond. The fragrance… a heady and full bodied musky vanilla. So romantic and sexy. I never really picked up on floral notes or caramel, to me, this fragrance was solid musk.
Strength – on a scale of 1 to 10, this was a 20. Easy. WOWEE was it strong!
How did my candle burn?
My candle burned perfect. No wick issues, full melt pools and clean and even burns. I did have to keep my wicks trimmed regularly or the flames became too large. I consider that a good thing though. A+.
Closing to my review:
I enjoyed this fragrance but it’s definitely not a candle I’d want to burn all the time. I can’t believe I’m actually saying this… but this candle was a little too strong for me. It was so strong and heavy at times, I had to blow it out to give myself a break. So, if you can’t handle super heavy scents or if you have allergies to fragrance… this candle is definitely not for you. I could easily see this fragrance triggering allergies for sensitive noses.
Now if you love room saturation strong, put this one on your list to try in the future. This is a candle you’ll enjoy if you love romantic and sultry type fragrances – heavy on the perfume action.
