White Woods White Barn Candle ReviewWhite Woods

Fragrance: White Woods

Scent Strength: Medium

First impression of White Woods:

White Woods sounded and looked like a holiday fragrance but once I smelled the wax, I realized it was a fragrance perfect for anytime of the year. The wax smelled like a creamy vanilla with notes of musk and something sweet like sugar. I liked it, quite a bit.

Here is the scent description pulled from the bottom of the candle:

White oak, cashmere musk, creamy santal, vanilla bean.

Vanilla bean – check! That was the creamy component I smelled right off the bat and the most notable fragrance to my nose. I loved it. Creamy santal? I had no idea what santal was so a quick internet search told me it’s in the sandalwood family. I’m not sure I smelled sandalwood but if I do, I’ll be happy. I love anything that has sandalwood in it. White Oak? Maybe. I think that was the fresh component I was picking up on. Overall, this was an interesting, fresh and beautiful scent and one that had me mesmerized right off the bat.

Now let’s see how this candle performs!

I lit this candle in my master bedroom and waited for the magic to begin, which took roughly ten minutes. The aroma…. very different. I smelled vanilla, musk and white oak the most along with something else that threw me a little; it was a fresh component in the background that kind of reminded me of a subtle form of rubbing alcohol. Again, it was subtle but definitely there. At first I thought I was imagining it and kept going back to the candle to get bigger whiffs but I swear that’s what I smelled. Creamy vanilla, musk and a fresh alcohol kind of aroma which I think could have been the white oak. I’m not sure. It wasn’t bad, don’t get me wrong, it was just very different. Luckily, the alcohol (or whatever it was) was more in the background and didn’t dominate the overall scent so it was still enjoyable. Overall, I would describe this scent as a fresh perfume or body splash. Not heavy but fresh. This is just one of those scents you need to experience firsthand to see what I mean.

Strength – I would rate this candle an 8 in a really large room. 10 in medium to smaller rooms.

How did my candle burn?

This candle burned perfect. No wick issues. YEAH!! Clean burning from start to finish.

Closing to my review:

White Woods was unique and a fragrance I didn’t mind, it was just very different and a scent I think you need to smell prior to purchasing it. I’m still glad I tried it and have no regrets, I just recommend a sniff test before biting the bullet on this one.  ?

Happy candle hunting!
