Are you trying to use up all the wax in your candle? Here is an awesome tip from Cherie on how to use up every last bit of wax. Whether you’re just plain frugal or you love the fragrance so much, you can’t bare the thought of not getting every last drop out of it. What handy dandy items you’ll need… a little bit of patience and a melter. Any kind will do.

The picture examples show Bath & Body Works candles but Cherie’s tip applies to any candle you have.

  • Once your candle burns out… place the candle in your freezer.
  • After a day or so, remove the candle and use a knife (or whatever instrument you want) to break up the wax inside and remove it from the jar.
  • Pull out the wicks (those usually come out of the jar with the wax) and use the leftover wax as tarts. The wax is still highly scented and you get another 2-3 days worth of scenting from the 1/3-1/2″ of wax that is remaining in the jar.
  • You can even save all your jars as they’re handy for ALL kinds of things. Cherie uses them to place all her wax chunks in and pulls a few out to use when she’s ready.

Note: there will be some soot on the chunks but that’s okay. It’s not like you’re doing them for a pretty contest or something. They smell divine and it’s something that would get pitched out anyway so…. go for it!!
