First impression of Unicorn Cake:

I’m pretty sure my eyes bugged out when I saw this scent at Walmart for the first time. Unicorn Cake just sounds like a wonderful fragrance all by itself.  I mean come on! Everything pertaining to unicorns is happy and magical. So why not in scented wax? The label was darling. The theme was pink with white cupcakes and sugary unicorn embellishments adorning the top of the cupcakes. The wax, a soft cotton candy pink. See picture above for visual reference. Next came the scent and I was sold all the more. So sold, I’m pretty sure I purchased a dozen that day. This pretty pink wax smelled like cotton candy cupcakes with a tinge of candied tartness. I could smell the sugary candy and the cake combined. YUM!!!!!

Melting Unicorn Cake:

Let’s start off with the scent description for Unicorn Cake:

Homemade pink sugar cake drizzled with tantalizing accents of sugared berry icing infused with delectable fruit nectars and the sweet essence of ripe strawberries.

Mmmm!! Pink Sugar Cake? The classic pink sugar fragrance I’m used to is musky. Unicorn Cake did not smell musky. It smelled like pure sweet berry sugar cake so ScentSational’s version of pink sugar is different than what I’m used to. Smelling the wax, to me, it kind of reminded me of Better Homes & Gardens Fresh Pulled Taffy blended with bakery. I was curious so I compared the two side by side and they weren’t exact but kind of similar. The company that manufacturer’s ScentSational’s also manufactures Better Homes & Gardens so I wonder? 🙂

Unicorn Cake Wax Melt Review

Melting… I used the entire clamshell pack (3 cubes each) in two electric melters in my great  room. Once melting, the aroma was all around the melters. After a good 20 minutes, the fragrance was everywhere and it smelled pretty darn good. I would call this a fun bakery and I’m still holding on to my Fresh Pulled Taffy theory. Now that the wax is melting, all I could smell was a sort of tart bakery – like raspberry lemonade cake, and if you read my review of Fresh Pulled Taffy… I described it as a pink lemonade. Regardless if I’m right or not, I think the description is pretty accurate for the most part. I can smell the cake and the sugared berry icing all the way.

Strength – I would rate Unicorn Cake a 10 out of 10 in any size room. It’s a room filler and I loved every moment of it.

Unicorn Cake is a limited addition scent so don’t wait too long if you want to try it. Limited additions are usually only around for a few months and then gone depending on how popular they are. I really enjoyed this one and will definitely be getting more.
