Introduction to My K’s Kreations Candle Review…

K’s Kreations is a new favorite company of mine and so far, there hasn’t been a single candle or tart I’ve purchased yet that I haven’t liked. I love these smaller companies….I like the personal touch, customer service and the down to earth “home” feel each company brings to their website and products. K’s Kreations is a pleasure to shop on and very easy to navigate through with all their products clearly presented and easily understood.

K’s Kreations sells 100% soy candles in a variety of styles and  sizes from apothecary, tureen, mason jars, tins, votives & melts which is an excellent selection. I love it when companies offer such as extensive selection because it’s sure to appeal to everyone as we all have such different tastes. They also sell linen sprays, wax dipped critters and various other handcrafted items for pretty much a one stop shopping website. Their scent selection ranges in well over 100 fragrances so there is definitely plenty to choose from. Her bakery scents are to die for and her fruity scents are just as wonderful as well as floral or clean/fresh type scents. For my second order, I bought all tart packages and I was a kid in a candy store smelling all my goodies. I am definitely a happy camper!

I’m not quite ready for fall or the scents that accompany it. With that said, I’ve been digging my choppers into all those juicy/fruity scents I so adore. I’ll get my fill soon enough (I promise) and will be ready to begin burning and reviewing all those yummy and warm bakery scents so perfect for fall and winter. So, since I’m still in that fruit groove….I’m reviewing two scents I recently purchased… Sea Island Grapefruit and Clean. Both fragrances definitely brightened up my home and are scents I’ll purchase again for sure.

What Do My Candles from K’s Kreations Look Like?

My candles are 16oz apothecary jars with flat glass lids. There is a country style label on the face of the candle. Sea Island Grapefruit was peach in color and Clean was white. Both candles were double wicked. My tarts were scalloped and bigger than normal. I ordered the larger pack and they came in cute brown bakery bags.

How Did My K’s Kreations Candles Smell?

Sea Island Grapefruit:

Grapefruit’s a tough one to duplicate, at least I think so. I’ve tried a lot of different brands and although I’ve enjoyed the majority, they’re never quite as authentic as the real thing. The closest I’ve come to the real thing is a tangerine candle from Ergo. Yeah, you read it right, the scent was tangerine but I swear my nose and everyone else who smelled it thought it smelled just like a grapefruit.

K’s Kreations Sea Island Grapefruit was pretty good and to me, not your average “run of the mill” grapefruit scent. It had a sweetness to it I loved… like a juicy pink grapefruit drizzled with lots of sugar. YUM!! Here is the scent description from K’s Kreations website:

“A crisp and clean citrus experience. Tangy, tropical, heady, exotic grapefruit with a touch of sweetness and powerful throw. No fillers of floral or perfumes – just pure, joyful, juicy grapefruit!”

I was very pleased with this fragrance and will definitely be buying it again. It did smell like a grapefruit with sugar sprinkled on top…which is exactly how I eat this citrusy fruit in the morning. The scent throw was pretty strong too. I burned 2 candles at the same time in my great-room because it’s a large room and the scent throw was wonderful. I could smell this fragrance all throughout my upper level and I absolutely loved it.

I also melted some tarts in this scent and found the melted version just as wonderful. I would easily recommend this fragrance in both candle and tart. I do think the tart gave a stronger scent throw but not by much. I enjoyed both equally. It’s fresh, sweet and has that citrus bite I love and always search for when shopping for citrus scents. Definitely go for it if you like citrus scents like I do… it’s a good one for sure.

Clean:

I really-really liked this scent! It’s different, fresh and makes my house smell incredible. Here is the scent description straight from K’s Kreations website:

“A duplication of this fabulous fragrance by DLish. It combines the fragrance notes of litsea cubeba, orange, sweet lime, pink grapefruit, passion lily, rose geranium, and white musk. Clean Sweet Layer combines the fragrance notes of sweet orange, grapefruit, lime, neroli, and rose to add a sweet feminine layer to the scent while maintaining the soapy, clean essence.”

After reading the description, I was curious about “Litsea Cubeba” – I had never heard of it until now. Here is what I found when I did an internet search:

“Litsea Cubeba is a fruit tree found in China, Taiwan or Japan. The small pepper shaped fruits resemble peppers and give off a lemon-like, fresh, sweet odor.”

It’s no wonder I liked this scent so much… anything that smells like lemon is a winner in my book. And then to throw in sweet lime, grapefruit, & orange… LOVED!! But then there were so many other scents in the mix too… I really tried to pay attention to the fragrance more to see if I could break down anything else. After awhile, I finally just gave up. I will say one thing though… just by the name, you may think it might have a soapy smell but it didn’t smell like soap at all to me. Instead, it took on more fruiter notes and I think that’s why I liked it so much.

The scent throw with this candle was medium+… not super strong which was fine since I was burning two candles anyway. If you plan on burning just one candle… I would test it in a medium sized room or smaller and see how it goes. You may get away with burning one in a larger room, it’s hard to say. The tarts on the other hand were wonderful and gave a strong throw. I enjoyed both equally.

Clean smells fantastic… it’s simply fresh and vibrant which is what lured me in when I took a whiff of this scent for the first time. Definitely try it if you’re after a clean and fresh smell and not your typical laundry or soap smell.

How Did My K’s Kreations Candles Burn?

My candles burned perfect. No waste, soot or smoke.

Overall Opinion of My Candles and K’s Kreations:

I definitely like this company and have even named them in my favorite top 5 soy companies. They are excellent and so far, every candle I’ve tried has been strong and true to it’s description. Their tarts are awesome!! Tart lovers… go try them because they really are wonderful and when you buy in larger packages, they come in the cutest bakery style bags. The presentation of their products is very nice and tasteful and has that country home feel that makes shopping on these sites so special to me.

Give this company a try, everything here is good.
