First impression of Toasted Coconut:
I am such a huge fan of anything that has coconut in it so as soon as I saw this scent on Swan Creek’s website, I purchased one right on the spot. Every Toasted Coconut I’ve ever smelled was amazing so here’s to crossing fingers Swan Creek’s would be just as yummy.
Here is the scent description from Swan Creek’s website:
An indulgence of raw coconut enhanced with almond, cinnamon sugar and toasted tonka beans – whipped vanilla adds the final note for a wonderful, gourmand fragrance.
First impression… I smelled fresh coconut and vanilla the most. “Maybe” almond but it was super light. The overall scent was very creamy with lots of coconut… I was intrigued.
Now let’s see how this baby performs!
I lit this candle in a small bathroom to start out and that’s where it stayed till the last drop of wax. I wanted maximum scent throw and boy did I get that in a smaller room. Once the wick was lit, it took a good 2 hours to reach a full melt pool and the aroma… a very subtle and interesting coconut. One thing to note, the coconut did kind of smell raw, meaning… it wasn’t super sweet but more natural. The vanilla however was loud and clear and I loved that part – it was very creamy, buttery and sweet. Cinnamon sugar or almond? My nose didn’t really detect those two elements in this fragrance. To me, this scent was raw coconut and sweet and creamy vanilla.
Strength – this candle was very light. In a super small room, I would rate this candle a 6 out of 10. Yeah… not very strong. So if you try this candle, stick to really small rooms or if you can get ahold of their drizzle melts, try it in melt form. I bet you melts will be much stronger.
How did my candle burn?
This candle burned perfect. No wick issue. Clean burning from start to finish.
Closing to my review:
I enjoyed Toasted Coconut from Swan Creek and do recommend it if you love sweet and creamy coconut aromas. This fragrance was all that and more. It was very buttery and creamy with the perfect touch of coconut. The only downside, the scent throw was pretty light.
Toasted Coconut may not be listed on Swan Creek’s website but it is available through other outlets that sells this brand. A quick internet search will list all the companies.
Happy candle hunting!
