I’ve been dying to try Sweet Pea Madelines from Yankee Candle, as I really thought it sounded like a scent right up my alley. I was not wanting to invest in a large jar candle yet, though (read why here), so I opted to try a votive as a wax melt.
I used half of the votive and melted it in a 24W hot plate melter. What a gorgeous wax melt pool! The scent was equally gorgeous – a soft sweet scent that had just a hint of the smell of almond cookies.
Delicate madeleines drizzled with a sweet icing made of citrus zest, powdered sugar, and a touch of cardamom.

The scent was sweet but not overly sweet. Soft and pretty. Despite the name sweet pea, I really didn’t get a floral vibe from this one. I don’t think a large candle jar would cut the mustard, so I’m glad I tried this as a wax melt first. I do think I would love the Easy MeltCup in this scent.
