First impression of Sweet Clementine:

Soho Brights is manufactured by Illume and a brand you can purchase at Target stores. This Soho line of candles are very cute and stylish, and I always find myself gravitating towards them as soon as they catch my eye. I think because they’re so bright and cheery aesthetically.

Sweet Clementine was a candle I HAD to purchase and review. The moment I popped off the lid to smell the wax, a sweet orange citrus greeted me, and it was mouthwatering!! The wax smelled like sweet oranges drenched in sugar.

Here is the scent description I pulled from Target’s website:

Sweet Clementine fills any space with the aroma of sicilian mandarin, pink raspberry, and sweet kumquat.

Mmmm!! Kumquat! That’s what I smelled the most. In wax, it’s distinctive, so sweet and citrusy. I loved it!! Pink raspberry? I could smell that too and it was tart and sweet reminding me of lemonade. Everything combined was so fresh and cheery.

Time to light my candle!!

I stuck to a small room to start out and that’s where this candle stayed till the last drop of wax. Once the wicks were lit, it took literally all day to reach a full melt pool, but thankfully the aroma was present long before that and oh my goodness…. a sweet orange filled my bathroom with aroma and it was pretty close to perfect. I’m picky when it comes to orange fragrances. Some can take on a fuel smell in a candle or others can smell fake like furniture polish, but this candle smelled very true. It could be the kumquat and raspberry that made that happen… those two were present in this scent but all blended together, it smelled like sweet oranges drenched in sugar. Loved!

Strength – I would rate this candle an 8 out of 10 in a really small room. Anything larger and I think the fragrance would be too diluted. I would stick to a small room with this one.

How did my candle burn?

This candle burned fine. It was very, VERY slow burning, so it took forever to reach a full melt pool. Sometimes I wondered if it would but, it did. It also burned clean from beginning to end with no soot.

Closing to my review:

Sweet Clementine was a fun fragrance and one I enjoyed and I’m glad I purchased it. Yes, it was light and best suited to a smaller room but I’m perfectly fine with that. That’s part and parcel with burning candles… they all don’t burn or fragrance equally, so you have to find the right room for each one you try. That’s just how it goes.
