Surf Shop Signature Soy Candle from Target

First impression of Surf Shop:
Cute candle! The wax was an ocean green and the label showed a picture of a lush tropical beach with deep blue and aqua water. Right below the scent name, it says Maui, so we now know what beach is in the picture. ? The scent…. a sweet tropical aroma that reminded me of a pineapple/coconut smoothie drink. I’m a sucker for sweet tropical scents so I was already happy with my purchase.
Here is the scent description I pulled from Target’s website:
Coconut, pineapple, vanilla.
Yep, I was right – coconut and pineapple. It smelled sort of like a pina colada but the wax smelled a little more tart than sweet. Loved it! Now let’s see how this candle performs!
I lit this candle in a medium size room to start out and soon after moved it to a smaller room – and then an even smaller room. This candle simply couldn’t cut it in anything larger. Bummer. Once moved, my powder room was filled with a subtle coconut pineapple aroma. Maybe it was the vanilla that toned it down? I don’t know. Whatever it was, this scent was way too light to really enjoy. What I could smell when I was close to the candle was nice… I smelled a sweet and creamy pineapple/coconut with loads of sugar. The only bummer is you had to be right next to the candle to smell it.
Strength – I would rate this candle a 4 in a small room. Yeah, it was light. I wouldn’t even try this scent in anything larger.
How did my candle burn?
This candle burned great. No wick issues. Clean burning from start to finish.
Closing to my review:
Loved the scent itself, was disappointed in the strength. Usually this brand can fragrance medium to smaller rooms easily but this one struggled for me. Even in a super tiny room.
Oh well… can’t win them all I suppose. Should you run across the scent, smell it and see what you think. And if you love it enough to purchase, maybe you’ll have better luck than I did. If you do, report back and let us know.

This is hands down my favorite candle I have ever purchased. It doesn’t look like they make it anymore, have you come across a similar scent? It is the perfect surf shop scent!
I don’t know of one similar right now, but I will be on the look out!
