What did my candle smell like?
Sun-Lit Wild Herbs smelled pretty amazing when I first popped off the lid. My nose detected fresh herbs but nothing specific I could pinpoint.
Here is the scent description from Walmart’s website:
Sparkling citrus orange notes splash over natural rosemary, soft sage leaf and leafy purple basil infused with an aromatic touch of crushed lavender and warm clove spice in this candle.
It’s always nice reading a scent description to compare with what I actually smell and experience. Honestly, I didn’t smell hardly anything in the scent description. Seriously! Not an ounce of citrus orange, clove or lavender. Nada. To me, this candle smelled like generic herbs. But, the true test happens when I light the candle and let it burn.
Time to find out!
I stuck to a small bathroom to burn this candle in which ended up being a good call. Once I lit the wick, it took a few hours to reach a full melt pool and once it did, the aroma of sweet herbs filled the small room with subtle fragrance. It wasn’t strong but soft. The aroma… the same. It was herbal but nothing I could really define so this is one fragrance I’m stumped with and one I think you’ll have to smell for yourself to see if you want to give it a try. Just keep in mind, this is not a strong scent… it was very subtle, even in a tiny room.
Strength – on a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this candle a 5 in a small/tiny room. Not sure I would attempt this in anything larger. If you do, the aroma would be nonexistent.
This candle burned decent. It took hours with each lighting to reach a full melt pool but that’s pretty standard with this brand. It did burn clean with no soot. Just make sure to keep your wick trimmed before each lighting.
Closing to my review:
Sun-lit Wild Herbs was an odd fragrance but one I did enjoy. The aroma smelled like fresh herbs, I just couldn’t tell you which ones. LOL!!
Not sure this specific fragrance is still available at Walmart but it might make a comeback. If you love the scent of fresh herbs, this is definitely candle you may want to try. It was different.
Happy candle hunting!

I love this candle! I did have to get two to fill the room with scent, but it is SO worth it! I love that fresh greenery smell. It definitely brings the soft scent of the outdoors to a room without overpowering or smelling fake. I wish I had bought a case of these candles as they are extremely difficult to find now!!
