Intro To My Soy Wax Melt Review
Time for another soy wax melt review for Shortie’s Candle Company … this time Sugerplum Cranberry. I’ve been gearing up for the holiday season (yeah, I know it’s October, but what can I say?) and this scent sounded like it would fit the bill. Again, these new, all-natural wax melts are touted for being 100% phthalate and paraffin free.
First Impressions of My Soy Wax Melt
My Sugarplum Cranberry wax melt was in that fallen leaf clamshell packaging that all these new soy wax melts are housed in. The reddish coloring of the soy wax made me think of sugarplums, as did the cute artwork on the outside label. A full 3.30 ounces.
The cold sniff was super yummy! It was tart and strong. The smell of cranberries can be too tart for me, but this one had a bit of sweetness that helped keep it in my ‘like’ pile. Looking for the scent description:

Yep. I could definitely get that – tart cranberries with sweet, juicy plums, all rolled around in sugar. Yumminess!
How Did My Soy Wax Melt Perform?
I used one piece in a 24W bulb melter in my large, open living space. Sure enough, it did not take long for this sweet/tart mix to start filling the air. Ooooh, the joy! This scent was more sweet than tart to me – it had the juiciness of sugar dusted plums and the right amount of tart cranberries in the mix. I did have visions of sugarplums dancing in my head!
The scent pretty much filled the area I was in without any problems. I thought the cold sniff on these soy wax melts were stronger in the package than when melting. That was true of my Pumpkin Souffle wax melt and with these, too. The one piece lasted several hours for me before I finally decided to change it out.
Closing To My Soy Wax Melt Review
This one was another winner for me from Shortie’s. It was a great mix of sweet and tart (leaning more towards the sweet) with a pretty good scent strength and throw. I am loving how long these melts are lasting, making them a really good value. If you’re wanting to get in the holiday spirit and like you some sweet/tart mixes, give these new all natural soy wax melts a try. I’ll be posting about their other scents they have in this lineup soon.
