First impression of Sugared Lemon Bar:

Oh my goodness, this was definitely a candle I could not resist. In fact, I purchased a few the moment I saw it – that’s how much I loved this scent right off the bat. I mean come on…. LEMON! And bakery to boot. It’s my favorite… my obsession. The one scent I gravitate towards every chance I see it.

These bakery jars are becoming harder to find but I found them again at my local Walmart which made me very happy! I couldn’t find a scent description for Sugared Lemon Bar but let me assure you, it smells AMAZING!!! Like the sweetest lemon bakery. Warm, lemony cake and positively edible. A scent that smelled so realistic, it blew me away. Yeah… it’s THAT good!!

Time to light my candle!

Because Better Homes and Gardens candles are generally lightly scented for me, I decided to burn this candle in a small bathroom. My reasoning was simple… I wanted this candle in a high traffic area so I could fully enjoy this aroma from start to finish. Unfortunately after trying to burn this candle for a solid week, nothing ever materialized and I want to note, I burned 2 different candles to test – both giving the exact same results. Once I lit the wick, it never produced a decent flame. The wicks fizzled out on both candles never producing a melt pool or fragrance. TOTAL bummer because the wax smelled amazing. Sweet and bakery lemon!

How did my candle burn?

As I stated above, this candle burned horrible. Faulty wicks.

Closing to my review:

I’m pretty sad about this candle. I absolutely loved the fragrance. It was a sweet and perfect lemon bakery. Literally mouthwatering perfect. Unfortunately, the wicks were faulty and the candle never burned correctly so I could never accurately gauge the scent throw. I did however salvage
the candle by scooping out the wax to melt in my electric melters. So, it wasn’t a total waste.
