Stella Luxury Candle Review from Tocca
By Christina Rylan
Brand: Tocca
Type: 3oz Candlelina
Fragrance: Stella
Scent Strength: Strong
First impression of Stella from Tocca:
Now that I’m fully immersing myself it the world of luxury candles, I couldn’t resist getting my hands on a few Tocca fragrances. I’ve always loved their perfumes so why not try a few of their gorgeous candles to review?
In this instance, I was lucky and able to purchase my candles at a local boutique where I live… it was a rare treat to smell all their fragrances before purchasing. That’s not something I get to do very often so I enjoyed every moment of it. The tough part came next… what to choose? I of course wanted one of everything (who doesn’t) but I forced myself to stick with a few fragrances to start out and chose Stella, Isabella and Tahiti. All three smelled wonderful.
Up first… Stella. I loved the name but it was the scent that stole my heart…. a sweet and sophisticated citrus. So fresh and unique.
Here is the scent description for Stella:
The slightly sweet, never bitter and always fresh scent of blood orange is widely recognized as one of the finest gifts of nature. Originating in 17th century Sicily, the blood orange combines the best of old world traditions with modern influences.
Mmm! Blood Orange… that’s the citrus I was smelling. First impression, the wax smelled like a pure and sweet citrusy orange. Not zesty like many oranges can be but sweeter as if it were drenched in sugar. I loved it.
Time to find out how it burns.
Because of the size candle, I stuck to a small bathroom to burn it in and it was a perfect choice. Once lit, it took a good hour before the candle reached a full melt pool and that’s when the magic began. The sweet scent of blood orange and sugar filled my bathroom and it was fresh and beyond lovely. I swear there was something more to this scent than just blood orange that I couldn’t quite pinpoint… whatever it was, it added a bit more sophistication to the overall fragrance that I really enjoyed.
Strength – one a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this candle a 7 in a really small room. This candle was not much bigger than a votive so I recommend burning this size in a small bathroom if you want the best scent throw.
How did my candle burn?
My candle burned perfect. Zero issues and clean burning from start to finish. I did have to trim my wick a few times before each lighting but that’s normal with any candle.
Closing to my review:
I enjoyed this fragrance but then I’ve always been a fan of fresh citrus scents so it was easy to fall in love. I think next time though I’ll splurge and go for the bigger size candle should I purchase Stella again. These little candelina’s are cute but for the price and size… they’re pretty expensive. I basically spent $20 dollars on a votive – ouch!! In my defense… they are gorgeous little candles and I wanted to review them so….. I have no regrets.
I can’t wait to try my other two candlelina’s… reviews to come. I can see why this brand is so popular. They’re gorgeous.
Happy candle hunting!
