First impression of Sprinkled Sugar Cookie:
Oooooh!! The moment I saw these Cookie Swap candles on Yankee’s website, I had to purchase one of each to review. I’m a huge bakery lover and have always been drawn to every cookie scent I find, so this candle was right up my alley! The candle itself was a standard large Yankee jar with one wick. The label was clear and showed a picture of frosted sugar cookies loaded with sprinkles as well as sprinkles illustrated on the label surrounding the picture. Not sure if I described that very well so see picture above for visual reference.
Sprinkled Sugar Cookie is described as:
Buttery, warm, and covered in bright sugary sprinkles – it’s your childhood favorite.
Yum!! First impression when smelling the wax… a sweet and sugary vanilla. It smelled pretty yummy and I couldn’t wait to get started and light this candle.
Let’s do it!
I stuck to a small bathroom to burn this candle in since Yankee candles are generally lightly scented for me. Once the wick was lit, it took a good 4 hours to reach a full melt pool and from then on out… a fresh kind of vanilla filled my small bathroom. The aroma did smell just like it did prior to lighting the wick but I don’t know… something seemed off to me. The fragrance was vanilla and sweet but it didn’t smell like cookies, nor buttery which I would have loved. This candle simply smelled like a sweet and classic vanilla.
Strength – I would rate this candle a 5 out of 10 in a very small room. I don’t think I would even try it in anything larger if you’re after a decent scent throw. In my experience, that’s pretty standard with this brand.
How did my candle burn?
This candle burned great. It was very slow burning so it took hours with each lighting to reach a full melt pool. Very minimal wick maintenance too. Clean and even burn till the end.
Closing to my review:
As far as vanilla scents go, Sprinkled Sugar Cookies was a nice version of a classic vanilla. Cookies? No. To me, this scent lacked that buttery and warm component a good cookie scent should have. I still enjoyed it, it just wasn’t what I was hoping for or expecting. Next time you’re near a Yankee store… go smell one and see for yourself.
I don’t see Sprinkles Sugar Cookies on Yankee’s website right now so check one of their stores if you’re interesting in this scent. It wasn’t that long ago I purchased this so I know it’s still around.
Happy candle hunting!
