Intro To My Wax Melt Review
Smoky Mountain Berries from Dessa’s Homespun Scents is billed as a holiday scent and I have admittedly had it on my list to review for several months. I’m not really a seasonal melter anyway, but I think this is one of those scents that would be good to use all year around. 
First Impressions of My Wax Melt
This wax melt was in an individual, 2 ounce tart cup. The color was a rustic red color. Dessa fills her tart cups full of wax and I always feel like I’m getting my money’s worth from her. The cold sniff was warm and sweet. According to the website:

I honestly didn’t get the tree notes on cold sniff, but it was a great berry scent and I couldn’t wait to melt it. I used the entire wax melt in my 24W hot plate melter. It immediately started putting out scent and it…was…fantastic! I first smelled the sweet/tangy berry notes that reminded me of cranberries. After it was melting a bit more, I did start noticing something that smelled like fresh pine needles. This had some deep woodsy notes that blended well with the berry notes. I really could see how this would work well for the holidays!
How Did My Wax Melt Perform?
This was a strong scent with an excellent scent throw. I could smell this wax melt all throughout the open living area and on down my hallways. I kept it going non-stop for several hours and it never missed a beat.
Closing To My Review
Smoky Mountain Berries was a refreshing scent for me to melt and I could see myself melting it year ’round. It was fresh and festive, sweet with a bit of tanginess, with woodsy/piney notes that all blended well together. It is one of those scents that is strong enough without being overpowering, so I think it would be good for holiday gatherings, too. I have yet to be disappointed with anything from Dessa!
