If you follow along here, you’ll know that Pelican Scents is one of our new-found favorites. We loved on their Blueberry and Pina Colada wax melts before. With summer coming to an end, it was time to switch it up a bit with their Sea Salt and Agave wax melt.

Packaging/Presentation
This Sea Salt & Agave wax melt was in a scent shot, much like the other wax melts we tried from Pelican Scents. The wax was off white and soft, but not too soft to remove it from the cup. After trying dozens and dozens of scent shots from elsewhere, I can attest to the simplistic joy of having a lid that fits snugly on your melt cup. Joy! The company name was printed on the label with the scent name handwritten in. A very personal touch which I appreciated!
Authenticity
On cold sniff, I smelled a slightly perfumey scent with what I thought was a sharp citrusy note. I didn’t see that in the scent description, though:

Once melting in a tealight melter, I noticed the strong scent of ozone here. It was beautiful and relaxing. There was a bit of saltiness that came through more and more as the wax fully melted. It wasn’t harsh at all – very relaxing, like sitting on the beach watching the tides roll in. I still thought I could detect some citrus notes – I’m used to agave being combined with a lemon or lime, so it might have been my nose playing tricks on me. Still, it was a beautiful fragrance from start to finish.
Scent Strength & Scent Throw
This Sea Salt & Agave wax melt was pretty strong – it filled up a medium sized bedroom using that tealight melter. I did use the entire scent shot in my melter. I would say it was moderately strong. I could smell the fragrance wafting on down the hallway, too, so it had a pretty good scent throw.
Melt Performance
My Sea Salt & Agave wax melt lasted through 2 1/2 tealights without a problem. I use these long-lasting tealights that give me about 6 hours of burn time each, so you can tell that this wax melt was super long lasting.
Conclusion
Pelican Scents has come through again with these wonderful Sea Salt & Agave wax melts. I found them long lasting with a wonderful scent throw. The scent itself was relaxing and soothing…just what I needed for this time of year. I’m looking to trying more from this indie company!
