Intro To My Wilber Wax Warmer Review
When I saw this darling Wilber wax warmer from ScentSationals, I knew he had to be mine, even if only for a short while. You can pick this one up on the ScentSationals website, but I ran across him at Walmart. His cute little face just jumped into my cart and next thing I knew, we were in the checkout line together.
We will be posting a series of wax warmer reviews here on the site in the next several months, as we tend to need a lot of them while in testing mode. I personally like having various options to see what might give me the best results…and yes, the warmer can make a difference! In my book, a wax warmer needs to be no-fuss, too. All the cuteness in the world won’t mean a bit of difference if it’s too hard to use it. Those types of warmers tend to go to the back of a cabinet, rarely to see the light of day again.
First Impressions of My Wilber Wax Warmer
OK, I think we already established the cute factor. The chubby little ceramic bundle of joy just made my heart skip a beat every time I looked at him! He appeared very well made. He had a light pink crackle glaze and some pink/green flowers on his body. So. Adorable!
His body housed the place for the 25W bulb that went inside. The warmer came with a bulb already, so that was good. I didn’t have any trouble getting my hand into the warmer to screw in the bulb. I think if someone had really large fingers, it might be a little tricky but still pretty doable, because of the wide base.
After getting that all situated, it was time to place some wax into the melt tray. Now, the melt tray for this little guy was…well…little. Not super small, but I knew I wouldn’t be able to use some of my larger wax melts in this warmer.
How Did My Wilber Wax Warmer Perform?
I tried a number of different sizes of wax melts to see how they would do. The first row pictures one wax melt piece from a Yankee Candle wax melt (the ones from Walmart). This one piece weighed in at about 0.43 ounces. The 2nd row shows a Closet Full Of Wax 1 ounce tart cup. As you can see, it filled the bowl nicely but was flirting with overflow. Lastly, I tried a 2 ounce melt cup from Mary Melts. The wax came up over the bowl and congealed around the base. Still, this waxident was fairly easy to clean up.
The scent throw using this warmer was about what would be expected from a 25W bulb melter. Since Wilbur’s body did sit on top of the melted wax, he did “contain” some of the scent, but that was really remedied by the holes in his body. I found I got great performance with my wax melts using this warmer.
His body did not get so hot that it was hard to lift him off the base, so you could do that while he was still on and pour your wax out hot. However, I turned him off, let the wax cool, then placed the bottom tray into the freezer for a few minutes. This allowed the wax to pop right on out! I did try pouring out my wax hot, but because of the lip on the tray, wax would dribble there and harden. The better option for getting the wax out while hot was to use a cotton ball to soak it up.
Closing To My Wilber Wax Warmer Review
I loved using this wax melt warmer – it was cute, functional, and low maintenance. the only drawback I saw was the relatively small wax melt tray. I would certainly recommend this darling to any wax melt lover!
