I bought the 11 oz. jar. The scent was "Cherry/Tomato/Basil," which was a perfect scent to put on my red and white checked kitchen table. The label mentions this candle is in their "Gardener" category. Even when the candle is not lit, the jar looks pretty on the table because of the cheerful label -- it looks homey and cozy and kitchen appropriate. The shape of the jar is oblong, narrow, made of heavy glass with a flat, hefty lid which I like. The color of this candle is bright tomato red. The label tells the brand name and scent with a cute picture of tomatoes on a vine. The scent and color were perfect for where I intended to use the candle, on my kithen table atop a red and white checked country style tablecloth. On top of the wax of the candle were scattered some delightful minature garden tools and a tiny terra cotta flowerpot, in keeping with the theme of a gardner candle. (I carefully removed the little gardening charms and put them away to join some other little minatures I have for a Zen sand box I use on a coffeee table.) Even with the oblong shape, a good wax pool formed within the first two hours and reached all four sides of the jar perfectly. The scent is herbal with a bite and while it does not smell too tomato-ish to me, it is a nice garden type scent. The throw was excellent and filled my kitchen but not beyond, which was fine with me as I would not want this garden vegetable scent in the other rooms, but is perfect for my kitchen. How did it burn? This is the amazing part. It has burned so clean, consistently, that there is not one bit of wax on the used part of the jar -- it is clear glass down to halfway as if the top of the candle (which was used) was washed. I have to trim the double wicks each time I light it but again, it forms a total wax pool each and every time, with a great scent throw. I have never seen a candle burn so cleanly. My garden candle has burned for several hours on many days since before Easter and it is only half way used so I feel I got full value from this candle. However, I did find this candle in a famous bargain basement in my city so I did not pay full price for it. Because of the clean burn and good scent and throw, I would order this brand again and maybe try something else in their Gardener range.

I like the For Everybody candles. I have tried several of the scents. My two very favorite are the Coffee Cake and the Blueberry Muffin. The Blueberry Muffin is the best i have tried. Very strong :) I buy these quite a bit on Ebay from a few different sellers, and have purchased at Marshalls.

I bought one vanilla cinnamon in a tin on sale at Kohl's. Other flavors had cute sprinkles and accents. I liked the scent very much - I couldn't smell it when at arm's length from the burning candle. Since fragrance is important to me, I didn't rate it higher initially. Today I had to go to Home Depot, where they have 75% off Christmas and holiday items. They had soy candles manufactured by For Every Body in orange (cider), red (holly berries which smells like cherry cough drops to me) and almond (sugar cookie) colors. I didn't buy green because it smelled like bad pine cleaner. Each one ended up costing about $1.50 each, for a jar with a lid and 18 oz. of glitter sprinkled candle. That is a great deal. The three I bought all smell great, cold and hot throw - I thought the jar scent was much better than in the small tin.

I love this brand because of the variety and availability of it. I buy them at Mervyn's and Kohl's, and usually get them on sale so the price is good. My absolute favorite is the Cinnamon Vanilla. It smells so great and reminds me of rice pudding for some reason! I also love the apple pie, blueberry muffinand chocolate chip cookie scents. The cinnamon toast was too much for me and the poundcake not strong enough. So.... bottom line is that most are good, some too strong and some too light. For the price though, you won't be out too much if you get something you don't like!

All of their candles smell great in the jar but I only bought one, "Cinnamon Swirl Toast" which smells like french toast, maple syrup and all. Pretty good. The scent throw was normal I would say. Not spectacular but average. I would probably not buy them again only because I like a huge scent throw. Maybe I'll give them a second chance because they are huge on the home baked scents that I love and everyone else on this board seems to think they smell too strong. I 'll give you an update when I try another.

These are the cutest candles as far as looks go and make great gifts. I bought a bunch these at Kohls on the clearance rack and paid less than 3 bucks each for a candle that was normally 10 dollars. I got a bunch of the small ones. I tried choc chip, apple pie, birthday cake, pumpkin, blueberry, cinnamon vanilla, mango, lime. heres my opinion on each. choc chip: smells a little like choc chip but not exactly and has a med to light scent throw. apple pie: med scent throw smells like apples and spices. birthday cake: very light throw but does smell like cake. pumpkin: i dont smell much pumpkin but more of a spice scent. strong throw. blueberry: strong throw and very sweet scent mango: true to scent and stronger throw cinnamon vanilla: med/strong throw but does not smell of vanilla at all. only smell cinnamon. Lime: horrible. fake chemical smell and very strong. i had to throw this one in the garbage. All candles burned clean and i love how you open the lid to the jar and its decorated. for example the cake one has sprinkles on top and the blueberry has fake blueberries. I think they make really nice gifts. The price is steep for a small candle of 10 bucks but buying them for 3 bucks was well worth it. I would buy these again but only if it were a clearance sale. all in all they are ok candles with the cutest looks but not best throw or price for some scents. its hit or miss.

This company must be hit or miss with the scents. I ordered the candle of the month for 25% off - Watermelon Cucumber in 8 oz size. The candle itself is so cute, with the watermelon seeds on top. I thought this had a very nice scent throw for this size candle. It scented the master bedroom with a nice, sweet type smell. Description from the website: "The freshest combination of summer's bounty! Sweet and crisp. Topped with watermelon seeds." This was a clean burning candle. I already placed a 2nd order and included the larger size jar in the same scent (26 oz). I'll have to let you know about the other scents I have ordered as I try them. For Every Body is a difficult company to review! I have tried their smaller 9 oz. jars and have been very pleased with some of the scents. I have loved their Cinnamon Toast and Blueberry Muffin. The throw was very strong and the odor was wonderful! On the other hand, I also tried the Coffee Cake and Snickerdoodle in the same size jar and had NO throw at all! I would think that since the base notes are the same- they would have the same throw. Even stranger still, I got the Cinnavanilla Sundae and the Strusel Cake in the largest 26 oz. jars and even though they smelled SOOO DELICIOUS cold, they had NO HOT throw whatsoever! I am stumped by this company! I can never tell if the candle I buy will have a good throw or not. I love that I can pick them up in Kohl's easily, but I wish they sold tarts!

I was at TARGET last night and being a candle addict -- I aways check out what misc. candles they have. To my surprise, they had FOR EVERYBODY CANDLES, 5 different scents. I remembered reading about them hereon Candlefind, but I couldn't remember if it was good or bad reviews. Not feeling too risky, I bought only one -- SPICE CAKE -- it had a cinnamony scent, I figured that was a pretty safe choice. It's cream colored with a brown syrupy wax drizzle on top, single wicked and the jar is 24 oz. It has a picture of a cut Poppyseed roll on the front of it (I guess the marketing people are not bakers and didn't know that poppyseed rolls do not have any spices in them!) I trimmed the wick and burned it around 2 hours. It filled my bedroom moderately with just cinnamon/clove, but the wick became a portabella mushroom! Whew, I blew it out and re-trimmed when it hardened and then relit. I did notice that the label claims to be be "soy based" -- but the wax is a very shiney, smooth and slick -- maybe that is the reason they burn clean, it's got more than just soy in there... So far, for $6.50 -- it's okay -- maybe I should have bought the Bayberry one too. Julianne

Yes, it was not a mistake. I did mean to say that it was both a positive and a negative attribute of this brand to have such strongly scented candles. All you need to keep in mind is that these fragrances are very true to life and strong. As long as you choose a fragrance you really enjoy- you'll love your candles. I have bought several of their candles and my absolute favorites are Apple Pie and Granny Smith Apple folk art. They are so great smelling to have burning anywhere in your home or outside on your patios. I also have bought several of there "homebaked" candles with scents like Maple Bar, White Cake Donut and Chocolate Chip Cookie. I generally think these are good candles but I had to throw away the Maple Bar candle because it was too much for everyone. My fiance and every single guest stated it was too strong and that it smelled as though I had broken a bottle of syrup. On several occasions, I was even asked to extingush it. In general, the prices are very good and I've gotten them both from their on-line store and at home furnishings section of a local department store called, "Century 21." (If you're from NY or NJ, you know Century 21.) All-in-all, I would recommend this company because they sell long-lasting highly scented candles at a decent price. Just choose your fragrance wisely.

I have one scent that I buy from this company, which is Lemon Crisp. I love it. The Apple Pie is pretty good. The strawberry peach cobbler was OK, but I won't buy it again. The blackberry cobbler was too sweet. The most recent scent I bought was Fresh Lime in a tin. It smelled pretty good before burning, but EWWW!!!....when burned, very yucky, artificial and a bit chemical...I will probably end up throwing it away. I purchase these from Kohl's, and when I'm in the store, I usually scan the shelf for the Lemon Crisp, it appears that will remain the only scent I buy from them.

If you have read any of my other reviews, you know that scent throw is SUPER important to me. These candles are cute, they have cute labels and nice candy decorations at the top. The scent throw is lacking in the scents I have tried: Candy corn, French Toast, and Almond Cookies. Maybe I would purchase if I found them on sale.

I was at Home Depot, buying a shop vac for a Father's Day gift and lo & behold, there on the counter were candles from their Garden Collection! Of course, I always wondered why HD never thought to sell nicer candles before - you know every woman that gets dragged there with her husband would love to check them out! So anyway, a shop vac for my husband and a candle for me... I chose the tan-colored candle (24 oz.) in "Mother Earth". Cute labels and then the little spade & terra cotta pot on the top, very different. But the candle isn't burning worth a flip! No scent throw to speak of (even in a bathroom) and the wick looks as though it's struggling just to stay lit. I guess I'll have to resort to "wax surgery" and fix it as best I can - but really, if that's the strongest scent I'll get out of it, it's probably not even worth it. It was only $6.00 and I'm so thankful I didn't pay more... What a waste... If it had a decent throw it would be a great deal, so maybe the other scents in the collection are better. There was a red one with a tomato scent, cold sniff was interesting (didn't purchase it though)... But I think I'll pass on trying it!

I was in Kohl's one day picking up some On Sale home decor items when I noticed that For Every Body Candles were on sale...it was like $7.50 or something for one of their large 16oz. candle tins. I've been aware of this brand for a while and just had the feeling they were nice smelling candles because I've seen them available all over online. i decided to pick up their Citrus tin to test it out. I just burned the candle tonight for the first time and am actually disappointed with it. My pet peeve when it comes to candles is when a candle has that fake, strong, air freshener quality to it. Do you know what I mean? It just doesn't smell authentic...it smells fake. Unfortunately, this is how my Citrus candle smells. I'm very surprised by this because I had the feeling these were awesome smelling candles. I guess since I love Kohls so much, I just assumed they would sell awesome smelling candles. My Citrus scent definitely has a strong scent throw, but if you're into really authentic smelling candles, I do not recommend them. Of course, I've only tried one scent, so I guess I can't completely rule out this company, but usually when one scent from a candle company has this fake quality to it, they all have it. I will not be buying anymore candles from For Every Body. :-( I am a very picky candle lover when it comes to the authenticity of candle scents, so if you're not as picky as I am, you might like these, but it's not for me. I've burned other brands that smell SO much better and definitely more real like Pacifica, White Barn Candle and others. Onto the next brand! EDIT ON NOVEMBER 3, 2005: I tried one of their Sugar Cookie candles and have reviewed it for you on the site. Visit our review section using the link below, them click on my review section and you'll find the link to the Sugar Cookie review. http://www.candlefind.com/candle-reviews Sorry for all the click instructions, but the link is way too long to post here...it would mess up the design of this page.

I bought a Angelfood Cake candle by this company, does not have much scent at all. Looks nice though.

I stocked up on a bunch of their small jars post-Halloween, when Kohl's was blowing out their seasonal merchandise and these were something like 90% off. How far wrong can you go with that price? I got a scent called Pumpkin Patch. The label was adorable, with pretty fall colors and a cute jack-o-lantern face. Tucked inside the jar, right atop the wax, was a cute plastic pumpkin charm. It was irresistible. I had good burn luck with *most* of them, a couple had wick drowning issues, and one just refused to start at all. That's one of the very few times I've ever tossed out a completely unused candle. The ones that did burn (which were the majority of them) gave only a faint scent throw, but considering the small diameter of the jar (3 inches) and the fact it wasn't a spicy pumpkin, that was likely the best that could be expected. Had I tried a more powerful scent, my throw experience may have varied. I voted "no" on recommending because of the wick issues. I'd modify that with a "maybe" if you found them at a blowout price and didn't mind the gamble. Since these are mostly found at department stores (at least here), chances of returning a used candle would be pretty slim.

I found a large selection of these candles ta my local lowes in their christmas section. Smelled them all and picked out the cinnamon stick cause it has an awesome cold throw. This is a large square jar, very pretty jar and label. And the price was great just $6 for a 22oz , i think, jar. Well i should have known that was to true to be good cause this candle has no hot throw at all. Even when i am in the same room where the candle is burning, nothing. Melt pool is beatiful, no hang up at all. I had thought about getting thee for christmas but i am glad i bought this one befoe i gave some for christmas.

I received a ForEveryBody candle last Christmas as a present from a fellow teacher. She had bought each teacher on our team one from Khols. Let me tell you...every teacher on that hall adored this candle. And you knew when one of us was burning it too b/c the entire hall smelled like sugar cookies. I kid you not...even the other grades were lingering at the end of our hall to catch a whiff. My classroom was near the other end and I could still smell it past the double doors and by the library. The kids were in heaven too and would remind me every day to light it. It smelled just like sugar cookies right out of the oven. Thrilled as I was with the quality, I couldn't wait to try some more, so I headed towards Kohls as soon as I had some extra money in my pocket. All of the Sugar Cookie scent was missing but I managed to pick up some Hollyberry, Gingerbread, and Christmas Tree scents. Boy was I disappointed. None of the candles gave off near as strong an aroma as the Sugar Cookie. The Gingerbread scent was a flop no only in throw but scent as well. Totally overwhelmed by the spices and no fresh baked aroma at all. On top of all of that, I couldn't get the two of the three jars to stay lit. Determined not to lose my favorite, I found and browsed the company website but while they advertise a Grandma's sugar cookie...the jar and candle is totally different than the one I received as a gift. The good one came in a tall square jar with silver ball-like sprinkles. The wax was softer than the other ForEveryBody candles that I purchased too. And yes, I doubled checked the label to make sure I had the right company. I guess I'll just be grateful I was able to experience the perfect candle at least once. ***Updated*** Since this post, I've tried contacting the company about their sugar cookie candle: no response. Not even an automated one. I've tried their Grandma's Sugar Cookie with less than fantasic results and have pretty much given up on the company as a whole. The one good batch must have been a fluke. And since they're not willing to listen to or acknowledge consumer feedback then there's really no chance of them recreating the experience. But should anyone come across a tall, square glass of Sugar Cookie scented candle with silver sprinkles on top and wax so soft it's practically scoopable...buy it! It's hands down the STRONGEST, TRUEST sugar cookie scent you will EVER sniff sans baking them yourself.

Like several of the other posters I found these candles at Kohls and picked one up on sale. For Every Body candles look very attractive with their wax imbeds and packaging. I had been a little reluctant to try this brand because of the very mixed reviews they've received, and because frankly I was not all that impressed with their scents cold. However when the four ounce candle tins went on sale for $2.00 I figured what the heck and grabbed one to try in Cherry Limeade. Because of its small size I burned the tin in my powder room, and it filled the room completely with scent that seeped out into the hallway. However the scent itself was terrible - very artificial and chemical-smelling. It smelled about as much like cherry limeade as those pine tree car fresheners smell like actual pine. My kids asked me to throw it out. To add insult to injury the candle tunnelled. I know it's pretty unfair to judge an entire company based on one candle, and perhaps if I get a deep discount again I'll be tempted to buy another tin or two for the bathroom. (At this point nothing could induce me to spend money on a larger size.) But overall this was not a good experience and there are too many other candle companies that I'd prefer to try first.

I ordered the little tin can candle with the clothes pin inside the candle.I believe it was called fresh linen. It was buy one & get one free from Kohls and I went off about this to a rep on the phone (suppose to get my refund soon).I thought I was burning a jar of thick old back in the days vaseline. This stuff was greasier than a gas station mop and It had no scent. I would highly recommend you to just say "NAW"!
