Trapp Candles

Well known, luxury candles saturated with as much pure, premium fragrance as physically possible. "A bottle of perfume in every candle."
http://www.trappcandles.com - not sure if this is their official site or not.

I have used Trapp Candles off & on for 8 years. Their classic fragrances like Orange Vanilla consistently bring me back to buy. Their votives give a strong throw in a large room. It is a good bang for your buck because retail votives are $3+ but on ebay I have bought all their candles for less. The 7 oz 50+hr burn retail for around $23 but again almost half on Ebay. I have stored a few of their candles in my closet for almost 5 years(because I have SO many) They consistently smell wonderful. Exotic Spice used to be a fav of mine as well. For romance try Amber &Bergamot. These make great luxurious gifts but shop around for pricing! UPDATE 1/24/07 I also just tried Sugared Fruit, Amber & bergomaot, exotic spice, pink grapefruit, Water, Bob's Flower shoppe, sexy cinnamon and Sweet Honeysuckle. The latter is VERY strong. Truly smells like you are in a Honeysuckle jungle! It permeated my whole home so I would suggest burning that particular scent a few hours a day. It lingers! Water is very nautical, clean pleasing scent. I purchased the 5oz poured candles on Ebay for alittle over $10.00 and retail is usually around $20.00. I will be trying more scents soon! UPDATE 2/18/07: I burned my second Honeysuckle candle. It was awful this time. The oils may have been old not sure but I had two people ask me if I was cooking "fish" lol NOPE but there was a strange aftersmell that reminded me of a fish fry...not exactly what I had hoped for. The other honeysuckle was wonderful. Still Orange Vanilla seems to be the best overall crowd pleaser. update 4/30/07 I had purchased a honeysuckle and reviewed it. Then one had an odd scent. Their company notified me and asked that I send back the remainder of the candle to test. I did and spoke to Annie and told her it smelled fishy. They tested it and determined by the quality control that the oil was bad so sent me a replacement in Honeysuckle (actually two candles of honeysuckle)which I burned and is true to the scent and WONDERFUL. I think they really want to please their customers. the candles are expensive but they use essential oils which are stronger than most. Five stars!

I got a Lemongrass Verbena in a 8oz. tumbler as a present. When I first got it, I logged on here to see what people had to say about this brand. Boy am I glad I didn't buy this one myself- it's very expensive. I've been burning it on-and-off for a few months now and I really enjoy it. It fills my bathrooms easily and smells very "clean". I don't smell perfume at all. I don't think I'll be in a rush to buy myself one, but I'm glad I got to try this line.

I've only tried the Fresh Cut Tuberose but boy oh boy, what a strong, realistic fragrance! Little smoky, but I'd buy it again (providing that I had enough cash!) just so I could be transported back to the isle of Oahu, where we spent our wedding/honeymoon last December. This is the closest thing I've found that reminds me of Hawaii...

Trapp has been my favorite candle brand until I discovered this site. A few of their scents are my favorites, such as Fresh Cut Tuberose and Exotic Musk, but the smoking, sooting, and wick maintainance is offputting. For my "girly-girl" fix, I burn TUBEROSE votives. One votive will fill a few rooms with a very strong, heady white floral fragrance. You will either like this, or you won't. I do, but I could see this causing a headache to someone with perfume sensitivies. The smoking is a pain. You will be blowing the candle out & trimming the wick often. My son, knowing I like these candles, bought me a LAVENDER tumbler for Christmas last year. This was a soft lavender, with a smooth base note, not medicinal. I did really enjoy this. Throw was lighter than Tuberose. I would not call this a true essential oil lavender, but I would purchase this again. EXOTIC MUSK is another votive that I buy frequently. It has sandalwood, musk, and several layers of spices, maybe a little nutmeg? Throw is good with a votive, and great with a tumbler. A sophisticated scent. Smoking issues apply here. BLACKBERRY VANILLA is an all purpose favorite of mine. It is not sweet at all, I mainly smell a clean top note with a touch of mild vanilla or white musk in the base. Throw is great in the tumbler size,(8 oz?). Since I am tired of wiping black soot off the sides of the tumbler, I am looking for a substitute. Pure Integrity's Almost Paradise is close, but stronger on the berry, and sweeter. WATER was purchased once in a votive. It is a clean non-floral, unisex scent that does NOT smell like a dryer sheet. I was disappointed in the throw on this one, so I did not repurchase. I have a friend that is crazy about this scent. EXOTIC SPICE was also purchased once in a votive. This is a mixture of spices, heavy on the clove, in a sandalwood base. Very similar to Circle E's Asian Spice. It is a good winter scent, but I prefer the smoothness of Exotic Musk. Clove can be overpowering. To sum up, Trapp has a few scents that have been my choice for several years. They are readily available locally, to sniff before you buy. Trapp does discontinue fragrances frequently, and I think Exotic Spice is one of them. Since I have found Candlefind, and the recommendations here, I will be sampling other companies for substitutes with a clean burn. Teena

Trapp Candles - cute packaging. I purchased a few of the votives which come in a box. The fragrance I tried was "No. 7 Patchouli & Sandalwood". When I sniffed it cold, it reminded me of "old lady's perfume". But I took it home. As it burned the fragrance did not improve. Trapp claims "a bottle of perfume in every candle". Well, they need to be a BIT more specific and say, "a bottle of OLD LADY perfume in every bottle". Disappointed. But cute packaging!

I bought one of these just to see what all the hoopla was about and still trying to figure it out. Tons of blake smoke, burns fast, constantly trimming wick, not enough scent while burning.

BIG dissapointment! For the price and from what I had heard, maybe my expectations were too high, but there was virtually no scent throw! They also smoked very badly.

I bought a Trapp Candle when I was on vacation. I thought Mediterrian Fig would be interesting scent. I was very dissappointed! The candle smelled like strong perfume! The scent gave me a migraine! They lost me as a customer
