Lizzie Candles and Soap is located in Salem Virginia...for those of you who might live close by. I like to buy candles from companies in Virginia so that I'm supporting a "local" business:). I was recently disappointed with the burn of a grapefruit candle from another company, but I liked the fragrance, so I decided to give Mandarin Grapefruit from Lizzie Candles and Soap a try. Of course, because I ADORE candle tins, I tried a silver, 8oz., single wicked tin. A "paper brown," (if that makes sense) label was on the side of the tin that had the name of the company, Handcrafted Soy Candle, Mandarin Grapefruit, Salem, VA 24153, 8 Ounces. The color of the wax was brown with an orange tint. I think the grapefruit overpowered any mandarin that may have been in the fragrance, at least as far as my nose could tell. Maybe some of you would be able to pick it out. I burned the tin in my half bath/laundry room and my bedroom. The scent strength and throw were ok; maybe a strong medium. Although it smelled like an authentic grapefruit, and I could smell it whenever I entered the room it was burning in, this fragrance didn't quite meet my personal expectations. Grapefruit is so tart, I just wanted it to be really strong and hit me when I would walk in a room. It didn't have the kind of punch I was looking for. This was by no means a bad grapefruit fragrance, but I probably won't purchase this particular scent again. My candle tin burned cleanly and evenly. Lizzie Candles and Soap has a good selection of scents and styles of candles, including soy pillars! There aren't any scent descriptions on the website, but I would have no problem purchasing from the company again. As always, I'd love to hear of any other scents or sizes any of you might try. Happy candle hunting from Jen the candle hunter:-)
