I LOVE these candles. They have a great scent throw and so many scents to choose from. I cannot say enough good things about them. I plan to purchase from them from now on!!! I WANTED TO ADD THAT THESE ALSO DO GREAT ON A CANDLE WARMER, THE SCENT THROW IS STILL GREAT AND THEY LAST A LONG TIME. UPDATE GREAT NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They now have new jars, the 8 oz is now a 9 oz and a really nice jar and then the 16 oz has changed also. I am burning a 9 oz. right now and have NO TUNNELING, Yay! Seems the make of the jar really helps that problem. They just keep getting better! ANOTHER UPDATE....2007 CBV IS NOW OFFERING SCENT SHOTS...they are a 2 oz. tart in a container. They are great! They just keep getting better. They are a must try!

I found out about Candles By Victoria from this site and am I glad I did. This company has the largest number of fragrances that I've seen so far! I can't believe that they have about 330 candle scents. I bought several from their sampler scents option in which you can get 6 8oz. jars for $30! They came very quickly in the mail and were well packed. Some of the scents I tried so far were Banana and Strawberry Shortcake. As soon as I unscrewed the lid from the Banana, the scent hit me. When I lit the wick, in about 5 minutes, the scent was already filling my room! Twenty minutes later, the scent was traveling down the hallway! I was amazed at the incredible scent throw! The Strawberry Shortcake also had a powerful as well as tasty scent. Since this is one of my favorite desserts, I had to try this candle. Their candles burned evenly for me and left no smoke. This company is now a favorite of mine and I have already placed another order. You will not be disappointed with this company.

I purchaed several scents to sample them after reading the reviews here. I was pleased with most of them but the buttercream had a very light scent throw. I could hardly smell anything while I had it burning. The orange chiffon cake smells awesome! Victoria offered to send me a new candle with my next order since I was unhappy with the buttercream! Great customer service! Have and will order from them again!

I just love this company! The amount of scents to choose from is amazing! I am like a kid in a candy store. I have been a customer of Candles by Victoria for a few years now. My favorites have to be the Graham Cracker Crust and the Chocolate Fudge Cinnamon Sugar Cookie Surprise Candle. It is a special candle that is not just under there scent list. When I lit it in my kitchen, it filled the whole house up with this amazing sweet chocolately creamy spicey smell! There are so many great companies out there, but Candles by Victoria rates up at the top for me!

I have been purchasing candles from Victoria for a few years now. Just recently I started getting the Scent Shots, which are huge tarts to melt. The scents so far that I just LOVE are: Blackberry Sage Glow by JLO Jasmine (this is one of my all time favs) Cottage Garden ~ Violet, Jasmine, Rose, lily, & hyacinth, coupled with peach, pineapple & melon (another fav) Buttery Caramel Honeysuckle White Ginger ~ enticing, sweet and spicy fragrance Breath of Ireland ~ top notes of fresh green clover, and ivy with middle notes of romantic snap dragon, rose petals, and carnations; ending with base notes of white musk and fig leaves. Jamaican Vacation ~ blend of tart kiwi, middle notes of lilac and tiger lily, with fresh based notes of pineapples and pears. Unwind ~calming Lavender, Rosemary and Geranium(another fav) Jungle Gardenia ~ blend of wild Roses, Jasmine petals, White blossoms and Violets Chocolate Chip Cookie Home Sweet Home Spiced Vanilla Old Fashioned Christmas ~ A sweet citrus, cinnamon and clove blend Afternoon Breeze ~ A combination of Lavender, Vanilla and Rain Graham Cracker Crust Chocolate Mint I just put in another order over Labor Day for these scents: UPDATED! Strawberry Margarita Caramelized Pralines (this one is great!) Blackbird Pie ~ Blackberries and currents with undertones of cinnamon and orange zests Buttery Gingerbread Caramel Apple Caramel Coffee Cake (yummy!) Country Bumpkin ~ wonderful complex blend of apples, candied yams, marshmallows, sweet cream butter, brown sugar, nutmeg, crushed cinnamon bark and fresh cloves. Fudge Brownie Pecan Pie Snickerdoodle Spiced Pumpkin Chutney ~ perfect blend of fresh pumpkin, just a touch of spice and a hint of citrus makes this one awesome autumn fragrance. Lychee fruit is noted for being sweet, yet slightly spicy (great different scent) Mahogony ~ Rich and heady this is a wonderful masculine fragrance that evokes thoughts of winter in the deep woods, sitting by a fire in a rustic log home Storm Watch ~ Like a moist warning breeze before a storm, naturally airy and refreshingly different Cinnamon Stick (really strong... too much for me!) Harvest Spearmint Winter Snowflake Mistletoe Apple Cider Can you tell I am getting ready for the fall!? LOL. I will post how I like these scents when I get them and try them out! Oh and also... Victoria offers votives now in a 3 pack of the same scent, for anyone who is looking for votives!

I found Candles by VIctoria about 6 months ago. As a serious candle burner, I can't say enough good things about her candles. My favorite scents are: Love Spell (excellent dupe of the Victoria's Secret scent), Honey I washed the kids, Herbal Mist, Apple Pie, Vanilla Sugar and Pineapple Mango. As long as you follow the directions and burn the candles according to direction and always trim the wick before burning, you will not have any issues with the candle not burning to the edges (ie: the canyon effect) or any soot issues. I've burned Home Interior candles and Yankee candles and have always had issues with soot and with wasted candle due to the canyon tunnel problem. The scent throw on Victoria's candles is honestly the best I've ever smelled. I'm also a fan of Tyler candle company candles, but they are far more expensive than Victoria's candles and they don't have anywhere near the fragrance choices. I've given Victoria's candles as gifts and have always received rave reviews for my gift choices. To top all of this off....Victoria responds to E-mails quickly, she pours the candles fresh when you order them and she goes above and beyond to ensure satisfaction. I live in Florida and would love to visit her store in Texas one day. My husband is a fan and as I burn candles all day long, my friends/family/visitors, etc.... always remark on how wonderful my house smells!! You should give her a try. I am probably one of the most picky shoppers in the world and I can't think of anything negative to say. She even sends you free scent shots to sample each time you order.

I just received my first order from Victoria and I'm wondering why I waited so long! I ordered her sample pack and love all the scents I got. I have used Divine Paradise and Kahlua Cafe so far. Both are strong and I love them. I used these with a candle warmer so I can't comment on the wicking issue.

I recieved my candle shipment today Friday (I ordered Monday night) so I thought that was fast shipping! When I opened the box and smelled the scents in each jar I was a little disapointed. I thought some of them did not smell very strong. Well I changed my opinion very quickly as soon as I lit the the candle! Within two minutes the room was already filling with scent! I have been burning the candle for one hour and I can smell it through out my house. I love this candle company! Victoria has just earned a loyal customer. I highly recomend these candles. If you love a candle with a great scent throw try these they smell awesome! My favorite scent so far is cinnaman stick, it smells like red hots, hot and spicy!

Love her Tarts. They are super strong and last a long time. The candles are super strong but I have had a problem repeatedly with the wicks drowning out. I have tried six different candles from her and they all do the same. The jars and very pretty and the scents are awesome. I will continue to order but will stick with the tarts.

I have had nothing but excellent candles from Candles by Victoria and I've literally bought 100's of candles from her (no exaggeration either). I've also bought an extremely absurd amount of tarts and love them as much as her candles. I’m on a tart craze right now and she has some really good ones. My favorite scents from CBV are her fruity scents... some are better or stronger than others but that's just the nature of some fragrances. The fragrances that are too light for my taste, I don’t buy again. I've even had wick issues with candles from this company but I either fix it on my own or I email Victoria and she corrects the problem so you can't ask for anything more than that. This is also true with any company. It happens. I definitely would say give this company a try and should you have problems, email the company first before posting a negative review. In most cases, the candle company will most likely fix it since they want you happy. ~ Christina

This is a great company to order from. Victoria provides great customer service and fast, well packaged shipping with reasonable rates. Scent shots are a great way to try out scents prior to buying a candle in a scent you may not like... Scents I have been loving include: Banana Nut Bread, Sexy in Stilletos, Cleopatra's Closet, Elvis, Watermelon, Starfruit and Mango, Baked Apple Strudel, Cinnamon Apple Butter, Egyptian Musk, Coconut Cream Pie and many others. I have placed several orders and have always been satisfied that the scents have the best throw available. I recommend everyone try this company out by at least ordering a variety of scent shots to give you a feel for the scents you will like. I don't recommend starting into candles just so you won't be disappointed by buying it in a fragrance you don't enjoy.

A few weeks ago I ordered a few candles from Candles by Victoria for the first time, and I really like them. They have all the positives I look for in a good candle -- huge throw (filled the house), clean burning with no tunnelling, sooting or smoking, and strong authentic scents. She processed and shipped my order fast, too - I ordered on a Sunday night and had the candles in hand by Thursday. It doesn't get much better for a candle junkie like me!!! CBV has a ton of scents to choose from - more than 420 - plus several specialty candles she makes up from a combination of scents. I kept my order small just to try out the company and bought two 16 oz country jars (wide mouth mason jars)of Apple Jack N Peel and Root Beer. Both of these burned great and what a throw! The Apple Jack N Peel smelled wonderful and I especially liked the Root Beer - this scent is not always easy to find and it's a particular favorite of mine. I also bought one of the specialty candles - an 18 oz jar of Caramel Apple Cinnamon Butter. I'm waiting til the fall to burn this one but it smells fabulous cold. RE this company's "cons," I need to clarify that CBV does actually sell votives, but they are only available in prefilled 2.5 oz votive holders with an Americana motif. I don't need any more votive holders and prefer to purchase votives without them and use the holders I already have. Hopefully in the future Victoria will offer "loose" votives as well as those in containers... :) Finally, CBV has frequent sales and discounts and her shipping costs are reasonable considering the price of gas, postage and everything else these days. I can't wait to order again! UPDATE: Unfortunately I was very disappointed in the Caramel Apple Cinnamon Butter candle once I burned it. This candle smelled like none of those things but more like petroleum mixed with a faintly nutty smell. Throw was nonexistent (in this case, a good thing.) I heard folks have had good luck with CBV's melts so maybe those would be better to try. Also, Victoria has added votives to her candle menu, which is great. Unfortunately they cost approximately $2.00 each - as much as Yankee - so this won't be my first choice for votives.

I've purchased from Candles by Victoria for about 3-4 years now, so this is an overall review of my experiences. If I tried to review every scent, this would be a novel :-) As a whole, her scents are true-to-description and have a moderate to very strong throw. With now more than 600 scents (and growing!) it's easy to become overwhelmed at the offerings. If you have an idea of what category you like, you can get tart samplers (they pick the scents but within a category you specify). The website can be a bit of a maze but jotting down notes as you surf will help. She offers a wide variety of scent categories. I love the fact that she keeps these all available and doesn't retire less-popular scents. If you love something nobody else does - you can still get your fix. Victoria excels in her house blends. She's very talented with mixing fruits and florals especially and the options are staggering. Visiting her message board can help you narrow down your choices because most people there will tell it like it is. I've found scents I liked because someone else posted how much they disliked it (the *why* being very useful). I've tried jars, pillars, tarts and some of her artistic foodie creations. All have burned well with no disasters (that sounds odd to say, but I've had disasters from others so no longer take it for granted). Pillars - Her wax is a very hard wax, so "hugging" my pillar as it burned didn't really work well (it wanted to crumble), but it did burn OK without tunneling or splitting, was pretty to look at and I got good scent throw. She's not my #1 for pillars but... Jars - she is my #1 go-to for jar candles. I've never had one tunnel. They burn completely - right down to the bottom, so no wasted wax (I'm so grateful that she doesn't use the self-extinguishing wicks that are so wasteful). She also offers a variety of containers, some not technically jars but serving the same function. This allows me to use them in any room without being stuck with a look that suits the candle but maybe not my decor. She also has artistic custom containers in the form of glitter candles. You can get glitter or not, a color of your choice, or a combination of 2 colors of your choice. It really adds a pretty touch to what could otherwise be an endless parade of boring clear containers. Her Love, Victoria container is especially nice as it is not overly deep (which I've found encourages flickering flames from anyone) and has a really wide top. This allows for a great melt pool, maximum throw, and minimum soot. You can also customize a scent, which is an option not found at a lot of other vendors. Pick any two scents from her list and she'll blend them (not layers... but actually combining the scents) and name it as you wish. I've done this and loved the results. Her foodie-type creations are almost (*almost*) too pretty to burn, and are reasonably priced. 2 pounds of wax runs about $25 - less than $1 an ounce, and you get something a lot more fun than your everyday jar candle. I've tried a few of those - the ones with the pumpkins being just irresistible - and they do burn well. At first you want to use a plate to catch any overrun (the wax is piled high atop the container) but once it evens out, it's fine. Like anywhere else, I've found that the larger (taller / deeper) jars tend toward sooting despite vigorous wick-trimming. I'll indulge in the occasional mustard-jar style from her, but I get flickering I don't get with her smaller jars and bowls. Her scent shots are $1.95 for a 2oz cup, which is about the norm it seems. It's a size I like as it allows for cutting to mix or to test stronger scents - or you can toss in the whole thing if it's a more subtle fragrance like a vanilla. I've had great customer service from her: quick replies to emails and the one time an item was left out of an order she asked if I wanted a refund or to have it sent. I opted to have it sent, and it arrived with a couple of scent shots as a bonus. So, yes, I recommend Candles By Victoria. She's one of a handful of vendors I repeatedly buy from because I can be confident I'm getting what I expect.

Lately I have been on a candle shopping spree...... I purchased 2 candles, Margarita lime, and Almond. I have to say the throw on these candles were one of the strongest I have ever had. On the other hand, I wasn't quite sure what is was I was smelling. However, my house did smell good, and anyone that came over that day commented on how good it smelled. If these candles had a more authentic smell they would be a 10.

I had a few free candles sent to me from Candles by Victoria a couple years ago when Candle Find was just a baby. I was VERY impressed with the scents and the scent strength. I especially enjoyed their Orange Creamsicle scent...awesome! I remember the wax was so smooth looking. I prefer candles made from soy to burn for my own enjoyment, but if you like candles made from Paraffin wax, I think you might like candles from Candles by Victoria.

The Hawaiian Rain candles I bought in the small jar size has a clean and long lasting scent with an amazing throw. The candle did tunnel, however. The Fig Lychee was a nice scent but did not hold up as well not have a good throw. The Monkey Juice canle bowl I bought seemed real nice - good banana type scent with double wicks which I prefer, in a pretty 10 oz. bowl. However, the sent did not last and the candle tunneled badly. I woul duse Victoria Candles again as when they are good they are very good scents -- just wish they burned better.

I ordered Victoria's sample 6 pack of 8 oz. jelly jars (5 times!).I really like these candles. I will however not order some of the scents that I found to be different from the description. None of the candles smell bad at all but some are just not completely accurate. When someone offers over 300 scents to choose from you have to expect that you won't LOooOVE them all. They burn ok. They can get smokey if you don't keep triming the wick (about every three hours). The first time you burn them make sure the top layer is totally liquified or you might get some tunneling. Don't be surprised when you very first open some of the jars and the scent is not very strong. Many of them are freshly made. Once they begin to burn, some of them will scent the whole bottom or top floor of your house. Here is a list of the candles I have ordered so far. I have put a "yes" beside the ones that smell like their descripton and a "no" for the ones that do not. 1. Oatmeal Raisin Cookie-Yes(perfect) 2. Apples and Oaks-Yes(perfect) 3. Lemon Pound Cake-Yes(I've smelled Better) 4. Pattie Cake-Maybe(sweet something, can't figure it out) 5. Coconut Cream Pie-Yes(yummy) 6. Cinnamon Buns-Yes (I've smelled Better) 7. Caramel Corn-Yes(the very best) 8. Coconut Banana Blast-Yes(Fake Banana Smell) 9. Boston Cream Pie-Yes(best ever, buy it!) 10.Fresh Baked Bread-Not really(slightly sweet mystery smell. Best FBB to date. Still have not found the perfect FBB) 11.Cinnamon Donuts-Yes(amazing!!) 12.Graham Cracker Crust-Yes 13.Flap Jack-Yes 14.Maple Nut Sticky Bun-Yes(close enough) 15.Butter Pound Cake-Yes(close enough) 16.Reese Peanut Butter-No (My boyfriend loved it) 17.Chocolate Chip Cookie-Yes(bit fake) 18.Vanilla Maple Pecan-Just OK(no scent throw) 19.Cinnamon Raisin Bread - Yes 20.Country Coffee Cake - Yes (great) 21.Buttery Ginger Bread - No 22.Banana Nut Bread - No (my boyfriend likes it) 23.Coco Beach Baby - Yes 24.Summer Nights - Yes (sexy scent) 25.Fig Lychee - No (too sweet/candy"ish") 26.Mahogany - Just OK 27.Tumble Weed - Just OK 28.Cinnamon Raisin Bread - Yes (close enough) Keep in mind that I like Yankee Candle Scents and have been looking for an alternative. In my opinion Yankee Candle has a very realistic scent to all of their candles but they tunnel and soot like crazy so I won't buy them.

I have ordered from CBV twice now. The first time I ordered Cinnamon Donuts, Christmas Memories and Maple Pecan Streusel, all of which were fantastic and strong! My second consisted of a sampler which included Blueberry Cheesecake (aboslutely fantastic, authentic scent, HUGE scent throw), Cinnamon Buns (just delicious), Pink Sugar (beautiful and soft scent, great scent throw), Honeydew Pear (awesome), Buttercream (very nice) and Pumpkin Cheesecake. The only one I was dissapointed in was the Pumpkin Cheesecake. It did not smell authentic to me. I will only burn it when I want that glow. Anyone who is on the fence about ordering should just go ahead and try, these candles have an amazing throw and they smell just fantastic!

My high rating is for customer service at this point as I only received my order yesterday and haven't had a chance to try the melts. The postal service had a problem getting my order to me and Victoria couldn't have been more helpful. She stayed in constant email communication and said she would reship the order if it didn't come in a few days. Thankfully it did. The order was packaged well and the melts smell great cold. I just wanted you to know you can order with confidence from Victoria because she truly goes the extra mile for her customers. I might add that she had packaged and addressed the Priority Mail box just fine and so the delay was definitely NOT her fault. I will update as soon as I have tried some of the melts. Update 11/24/06 I have tried the Caramel Apple melts and must say these have the closest real caramel apple scent I have ever smelled. My husband and son both were amazed at how truly authentic this fragrance was. It smells EXACTLY like a caramel apple when you pick one up at a stand or store. All the other caramel apple candles I've tried are mostly caramel which is fine, too, but this one really smells like a real juicy caramel apple.

This is my first time ordering from here, and I've had a hit and miss experience. Customer service is very good, and I received some nice samples with my order. I ordered several melts with this order. They are a very generous size (2oz), and are in oval-shaped plastic cups. They are clearly labeled and easy to remove from the cups. Scents I tried: Cinnamon Buns - This was very strong, but too heavy on the cinnamon for me. I did not get much of the bun smell at all, as the cinnamon was overpowering. This is not a re-order for me. Buttery Gingerbread - This was a very good gingerbread. Not too spicy and not too sweet. Moderate scent throw. I would reorder this one for the holidays. Lemon Pound Cake - Love her version of this. It's very good and yummy. The lemon is not a cleaner-type of lemony smell. Wonderful and strong. I would re-order. Lemon Meringue Pie - I loved the scent. Nice, sweet lemon. However, the scent throw was mild and I did not get much throw. I wouldn't re-order. Jamaican Vacation - This was very nice and tropical. I could definitely pick out the pineapple and pears. I would have liked a stronger scent throw. I would say moderate scent throw. Fresh Baked Bread - This was VERY good. Nice and strong. There was just a little hint of sweetness in this scent, which made it different from other fresh baked bread scents to me. I love this version and would definitely re-order. I also ordered one 16oz candle in Margarita Lime. It had one wick. The candles are very attractive and would make good gifts. However, I was unhappy with how it burned. I left it to burn for quite some time in my guest bedroom, and it tunneled horribly. After that, I put it on a warmer, but the scent throw was so light, I decided to throw it away. I may try her larger candle at another time, if it has two wicks. Overall, I think this company is worth a try. She has a great scent list and excellent customer service. There are some other scents I would like to try, and I'll most likely order those in melts in the near future.

Victoria makes great candles and her site even has its own forum where you can find lots of information about different scents. Fizzy Pop is my all-time favorite from her. The candles and tarts alike are great quality, and the colors are beautiful. I use a Yankee illuma-lid on my full-size candle to help it burn nicely, and the smaller candles burn well by themselves. Victoria uses a softer wax that helps the fragrance throw, making any potential "candle surgery" kind of messy, but these are great candles!

I ordered a bunch of tarts and some candles from here. Everything I just liked, not loved. The scent throws on some scents were pretty good ie: Scumptious Scoops, Fruit your Cares Away. Others were very light and disappointing ie: Black Velvet, Orange Cream Soda and Berry Me Alive. Real fake smell from Raspberry Banana Cream-not a scent I recommend. Not sure if they were meant to be light or if it is just not the scent for me. To be honest I expected more hot throw. Would I recommend? I have to say, be careful what scents you pick.

Candles By Victoria is a company based out of Van, Tx. They're a small, family company that has bloomed over the past couple of years, thanks to the hype created on YouTube. I bought into this hype. The quality in both the products and the customer service has gone downhill since. The candles are okay at best. Only a few scents I've tried had ANY amount of scent throw. The wicks are the lowest quality wicks I've ever seen. It's like a metallic wire of some sort, it burns terribly. Every single candle from this place has begun to canyon. But the biggest problem I have with Candles by Victoria is the scent inconsistency. All you have to do is poke around a bit on the message board to see that this is a HUGE problem. I've wasted quite an amount on money on purchases that I enjoyed the first time, only to be disgusted with the second. Don't let them try to tell you that the candle has to cure! It's just an excuse! There is a place on her website to leave reviews and if the review is not a positive one, you get bullied. Many complaints have led into arguments with her loyal customers, and Victoria has deleted more than a handful of negative reviews. That's not an honest thing to do, in my opinion. Victoria does carry some wonderful scents, so I will continue to purchase those from her but only in the form of a scent shot (or, tart).

I have ordered from here several times and although I like some of the scents, I have found product scent inconsistency between orders and lack of a good control system to ensure proper order received without missing items or wrong scents. For example, order a scent shot in carmel corn and love it, later order it in a candle and it smells totally different and awful...wasted money and disappointment is not what I look forward to with an online order. Also, some scents do not smell at all like you would think they should and not like described. Upon trying multiple scent shots it seems some of the scents are the same smell, just renamed. I have also found that the wicks emit a stream of black smoke sometimes no matter how long the wick is. This is hard on lungs and furniture/paint jobs. There is such a thing as too many options and I think this is resulting in a more is less situation. I would prefer more consistency and less choices, but that is just me.

I have ordered from this company a few times. At first I wanted to try the tarts and they were so-so. I ordered frangipani and the scent was gone in a couple of hours with no throw. I ordered what I thought would be a sampler as we did not know what we were getting, they didn't either, but it would be a good way to try scents. What scents? You just get a bag with different colors of tarts. If you like one you have no idea what you have. I thought like with other samplers, when we actually got they would st least be named. I had heard so much about the crumbles so I thought I would give them a shot. The orange and clove you could smell if you stood beside it. The coconut lime verbena smelled like hot parafin and the apples and oaks had just a light apple scent. I contacted them concerning the lime ones. This is the only one I actually complained about. They did e-mail me back and said that if I would mention it in my next order they would replace. WHAT??? And it would be put in and I would pay the shipping. I have never heard of such a thing. Why would I want to place another order??? There are so many other good candle companies out there, I think I'll just order from them. The packaging looks cheap and I do not like wax crumbles, with oils in them, in a paper bag....no matter how cute the closure is.

Was not impressed at all, like Salt City Candles, these candles tunnel really bad.. I was so tired of spending time digging out the wicks that I can't even tell you if I had aroma from the candle all the time it was burning. I do know that what I do remember was scent but not consistant.

I found this company on Candlefind, thank you. I ordered 2 scents caramel apple and lily of the valley. The caramel apple jar candle burned without too much fragrance. It smelled like candy apple but only if you were right by the candle. The bigger problem was the giant black ball that formed on the end of the wick. I looked it up and its called a carbon ball. It produces black smoke. It was huge, almost 1/2 inch thick ball on the end of the wick. I cut it off and tried the candle again. It happened the 2nd time as well so I threw that one away. The lily of the valley is my favorite scent and the jar candle from this company had a fake florist shop smell to it. It smelled inside my bathroom but the smell was fake. This candle didn't have as big as a black soot ball on it but it still had one and with the fake smell I just can't say that I'm pleased with the way the candles performed.
