I placed and order with this company recently. It was very difficult for me to decide what scents to buy this time. They have a huge selection of current scents, monthly specials, scent of the month and discontinued scents/jars. Their prices are very reasonable (if not down right CHEAP), shipping is reasonable, the labels are clear & tasteful (they describe the candles scent in several words)& the candles are natural white. This is what I received in 12 oz jars-- Lit and burned these -- FARMERS MARKET -- fruity/berry -- very good scent throw -- love this one COFFEE BEAN -- smells good -- but not a great scent thrower -- I like coffee STRONGER than this RASPBERRY GUAVA -- wonderfully sweet/tart and fruity -- strong -- love it and will be ordering a bigger one! LITTLE BLACK DRESS -- floral complex -- almost perfumery -- very nice -- great for the bedroom and the scent lingers after extinguishing SOLACE -- pepper minty -- less minty when burning -- two people referred to it as leathery... BREAKFAST IN BED -- complex scent of coffee, sweet apple danish with cinnamon & vanilla -- a nice bakery type scent. Warm and satisfying smell. TRANQUILITY -- fruity / floral -- Light to medium throw, it's nice but not a sock knocker offer! IMPRESSION: I received my order within a week of placing it. Pure Scents emailed me to let me know of the shipping status. I love the wicks that they use. There are two per 12 oz. jar and all cotton. As the candle burns they gently turn under and do not mushroom at the top -- even if let burning ALL day. The sides burned clean with no soot and I was amazed at how long this one candle is lasting -- I must have burned almost 24 hours and it is only 1" lower from the original fill line (and still smells great). MY OPINION: (y) I would definitely buy again from this company -- NO DOUBT about it! Their candles are of excellent quality, a good selection, the prices are very reasonable and the customer service is terrific -- prompt & friendly. All the candle I have lit have burned excellent -- just like the first one. I think my search is over for "the best kept secret" soy candle company -- it's PURE SCENTS CANDLE COMPANY in PA (: SECOND ORDER 6/29/06 -- received 7/5/06 ~~26 oz. jar GEORGIA SUNRISE -- lemony fruit (HOT -- lite peach citrus smell w/ pretty lite throw) ~~ 26 oz. jar PARADISE -- citrus-y lime/lemon/fruit (HOT -- very tart lime with a tinge of pineapple and other citrus. STRONG throw on this one!) ~~ 26 oz. jar SUGARED CLEMENTINE SPICE -- bakery type scent (this is a tricky one -- it has nice light sweet orange spice cake type scent -- like a background fragrance -- with a moderate throw -- but the spicy scent lingers long after the candle is extinguished) ~~ 26 oz. jar APRICOT SORBET -- peachy desert (hot -- Soft sweet peachy scent -- nice authentic smell -- moderate soft throw. ~~ 16 oz. VANILLA GRAPEFRUIT -- Nice sweet grapefruit scent (HOT -- MODERATE throw -- smells like sweet citrus/grapefruit -- I like it a lot) **~~ NECTARINE & HONEY tarts -- sweet peachy (HOT -- this is a keeper. It smells like peach syrup from the can TASTES!! I will be buying a BIGGER of this!) 2 oz tin Cashmere -- warm sultry scent -- has some sandlewood undertones... THIRD ORDER-- 11 oz glass (December 05, 2006) 9 days from ordering to on the doorstep -- busy season even! BEACH HOUSE NECTARINE & HONEY ENDLESS SUMMER (bright sunshine, rolling surf, suntan oil at the beach) -- this is the only one I didn't care for -- it does has a beach sun on your skin smell, but I didn't find it to be a pleasant scent. PURE ROMANCE (romantic sweet mimosa, orange blossoms, violet, amber and ylang) -- a soft bedroom, bathroom scent -- not a big throw, but a peaceful scent. ENDLESS LOVE (wonderfully clean, crisp & sweet -- just like falling in love) nice soft fresh scent, not real strong of big thrower, but I like it. WINTER WONDERLAND (icy sting of blustery snowy winter with the aroma of fresh pine) -- moderate throw, a nice soft pine-ish smell KEY WEST (a fruity base with a touch of sea spray and berries) -- this candle has a pretty good throw -- but it smells more like marchino cherries to me CHOCOLATE MINT chunk tart -- sample tart -- very long lasting chocolate scent, when I first lit it I was able to smell the mint. I burned it three or four times and it still had a "chocolate" smell. Finally I wanted to melts something different and threw it out even though it still had scent (o: Check Pure Scents website periodically -- Jacki runs weekly scent specials and month specials on new scents. Her prices can't be beat! If you are curious about scent strength -- just send her and email and she will let you know her opinion of it's throw. :d Julianne

Another GREAT COMPANY!!! I first ordered 2 26oz candles 100% soy-they are the plain white color. I LOVE the labels-they are clear with the name AND description of the scent on the label-first time I have seen that-great!!! Not too big though! I ordered [b]Nectarine & Honey[/b] and immediately loved this one-although stronger on the peach/honey it is a very nice thrower and great for spring/summer!! :) I also ordered [b]Pure Indulgence[/b]: "complex mixture of sugars, vanilla, jasmine, and nag champa" I thought this sounded intriging and it is-not as strong a thrower as the nectarine/honey, but a unique sexy scent none the less. I also like the wicks-just like the above poster I noticed they gently turn under and do not mushroom-very nice. Well, I went back for more!!! Will let you know about these when I get them!!! :wink: ******************* Placed a [b]third[/b] order-what is wrong with me-I don't need more candles!!! I love the scent choices and the clean burn. Not too impressed with the hot throw on Creamy Banana Shake. Love the wicks, love the clean burn and love the service!! Great place for candles!! :wink: Love [b]Passionate Kisses[/b] strong sexy floral yet sweet scent perfect for the bedroom-great throw! ********[b]Beach House[/b] is awesome!! This has a great throw and is perfect for summer-a fruity-floral-suntan lotion scent!! I have it upstairs and can smell it downstairs-impressive!!! :)

WOW~I love all 3 of the candles i bought from Pure Scents :) I bought 2 of the clearance 11 oz. jars in Cherries in the Snow and Caramel nut Sticky Bun. I LOVE the Caramel Nut Sticky Bun, YUMMMMY :) I also bought a Pumpkin Spice in the scent of the month jar, also in the 11 oz size. I like the looks of the jars, very nice!! I will definately buy from again. This month (October) she is sending all customers a little pumpkin with a paper inside, which tells what kind of discount you can get, to be used in the month of November. I know i will be ordering again :)

Took advantage of their current sale and bought four soy candles--16 oz tins in Little Black Dress (perfumy, very feminine) and Pure Romance (also feminine...sweeter fragrance) ($8 each) and 11 oz. clearance jars in grapefruit vanilla twist (strong throw) and tiger lily & canteloupe($5 each). The 16 oz. tins came with triple wicks and the 11 oz. jars were double wicked. She threw in a sample of "birthday cake." Although not my type of scent, if you like bakery scents this smells just like a birthday cake! Prices are excellent even without the sale prices. Shipping price is very reasonable as well. Clean burn with good scent throw. Nice customer service. At these prices and quality I will definitely buy from Pure Scents again! **UPDATE** Just wanted to update. I would love to burn candles in my classroom, but for safety issues never had... So, I bought a candle warmer and tried a wickless candle tin from Pure Scents in Pure Indulgence (company's scent description: "complex mixture of warm brown sugar, pink freesia, madagascar vanilla, pure jasmine & a hint of nag champa"). Wow! The scent throw was amazing and so quick! Within a couple of minutes of turning on my candle warmer the scent filled up my entire classroom. The scent throw is so great that after about an hour I turn the warmer off and the scent continues to fill the room throughout the day. My students come in and comment on the smell ("Mmmm! Your room smells great!") and now they want me to go ahead and buy more scents to try. The 8 oz. tins sell for about $6.50 and they last forever. Great value. I still love their jar candles for home, but am now sold on their wickless candles as well. My lucky students now get to learn math in a wonderfully scented environment! :)

I have ordered 4 candles. Peanut Butter Kisses, Little Black Dress, Vanilla Chai Tea andShaved Nutmeg & Creamy Coconut of the cool beans blend. I have only burned the peanut butter, but this one is amazing. The throw is far and lingers in the house. I have had completely clean burns and no wick trimming. They just curl as they burn. Is a true peanut butter scent and not fake like a lot I have tried. The others smell devine cold. The cool beans candle is just a beautiful candle. It is creamy white coconut with nutmeg chunks. All of them are double wicked. She has wonderful sales. Give her a try.

This company has been on my "watch list" for a while now! I took advantage of their sale to order seven packs of tarts in Farmer's Market, Little Black Dress, Pure Indulgence, Spice Market, Kitchen Fresh, Key West and Mountain Retreat. They threw in a small sample candle in Ocean Rain, which is a very clean scent. I love all of these!!! Pure Indulgence and Spice Market are familiar through another favorite website (try these if you haven't already!)and I am pleased to say these are just as good. Farmer's Market is wonderfully fruity/fresh, Mountain Retreat is very earthy and pine-like, Key West has a great berry scent and Kitchen Fresh is citrusy clean. Little Black Dress is very nice in a perfumey-flirty way, perfect for a powder room or bedroom. These are really great tarts and I will definitely order again!

I ordered (10) 11 oz. candles from the "Last Chance" section. They arrived in a timely manner and I was very happy with the appearance. The candles are white in color which is very nice because they can be used in any room. I was ordering them mostly as gifts but decided to burn one to see how they were. I burned CHERRIES IN THE SNOW which is a nice combination of cherries and white cake and nuts. I started burning it this morning and it is still going. The candle is burning down the sides completely with no residue left on the sides. The wicks are burning beautifully with no soot or smoke. (I didn't even clip them and they are still burning down nicely!) The scent has a very nice throw. I could smell it all around the bottom floor which is sometimes unusual with a candle of this size. The owner was courteous and responded quickly to my e-mail about fragrances. I am sure the people I give these candles to will be very happy.**********UPDATE 12/28/96************ Gave the candles out as gifts and I received nothing but postive remarks from the people I gave them to. Everyone seemed to be very happy with the scents particularly the HIPPY CHRISTMAS, TOTALLY SCRUMPTIOUS and CARMEL NUT STICKY BUNS!! There were a few people that wanted the website to re-order- which I happily gave them. You will not be disappointed.

I just received my first order from Pure Scents and am very pleased. I have burned two candles (Winter Wonderland and Nuts and Pinecones. Nice scent but not overpowering. The candles burn very clean and the wicks are triple in the tin containers and very easy to trim. The shipping took a little longer than expected but I think it was because of holiday mail. Jacki is very professional and great to do business with. I highly recommend Pure Scents and will order again from them.

After reading the last review for this company I decided to go to the website. Nevertheless, I was completely compelled to order and I too will update my post once I receive my candle bounty. I ordered off the "last chance" list and selected 6- 11oz. soy jars for $5.00 each! Holy cow! I decided to get:green grass (2 of this one because I love this scent), seashells by the seashore, honeybee, vanilla grapefruit and warm orange gingerbread. I thought this list of varied scents would let me get an idea of how these candles are and if I don't like them, I'll just give them away. LOL. **postscript** I've had a chance to burn several of my candles and I must say I am impressed with the burn quality and the look of these candles. I'm usually a little obsessed with color but I like that these are all white. The labels are simple to peel off too so that was also a plus for me. My vanilla grapefruit candle has a strong throw- I could smell it all throughout my apartment. I can't burn any other candles as they are all masked by this candle. Two thumbs up for this one. Fresh Cut Grass was nice- it wasn't as strong, but it was pretty authentic. I also got one for my mom to throw in her mother's day gift- hope she likes it as much as I do. Lastly, I burned Honeybee and wasn't sure what to think. Come to find out- my fiance and I both love it. It's floral and sweet, but not sickeningly sweet like some candles. It definately has a "spring" smell to it so I'm really glad I ordered it. I am sold on this company and might just order again.

I was excited to try these as they came highly recommended. Looks like I might be missing something though. I love the appearance, I love that they are white, double-wicked, and the scent choices are AWESOME. The scent throw isn't quite as strong as I like, but then again the sizes as described on the website are much smaller than the same sizes in other candles. I bought a 16-oz. tin and next to EVERY OTHER 16-oz. container candle I own, it is about half the size - regardless of what kind of 16-oz. container I'm comparing. All other size candles have been consisent throughout but these are much smaller than you'd expect. I inquired with the owner and she never addressed it (though I did receive response to general order questions). I was really hoping to buy a lot from this company as the scent (by description) are fantastic and so are the prices. But, they should be lower, since in my experience, I really wasn't getting that much candle anyway.

The candles I bought were just ok. The container looked like an 11 oz. bar glass and they smelled fairly decent cold. The pour level in each candle wasn't very consistent between each one. I gave them as a gift to different friends so they probably wouldn't notice that. My main complaint is that Jacki was running a free shipping offer at the time I ordered but I was still charged for shipping when I received my invoice. The next day I sent her an email. Three days later she replied, promising to refund my credit card that very same day. Months later... and it's NEVER happened! I think if you promise something to a customer you should honor it and not just provide lip service.
