Candle-licious

Highly scented, handpoured triple-scented candles.

I am a total scented jar freak but wanted to try some votives to see how they are, burn etc... I decided to try candlelicious first and after trying these votives, I really need to look no further. They are super highly fragranced and one votive literally fragranced my entire bedroom and bathroom. That is truly amazing and I am hooked for life! Every scent I purchased is incredible and I love them all! Try anything on the menu because you won't be sorry. These votives are stronger than some high brand jar candles that cost way more. Two thumbs up to Candlelicious!!

I have been a Partylite customer for over 10 years and when searching for a representative, I found Candle-licious. After reading about the triple scented candles, I ordered Plumeria, Rain Fresh Linen, High Tide and White Tea. The scents are heavenly! The candles burn clean and the triple scent makes my home a wonderful retreat long after the candles are gone. The ordering process is clear and easy, shipping costs are reasonable and Sue and Dave are very prompt with the orders. They test the candles before sending to a customer and I was even contacted by phone when a batch of a scent was not to the owner's satisfaction to determine if I wanted another scent or wait for a next batch. Ther personal touch was very special in this day in age. I have also purchased Yankee, Colonial as well as many others and they all pale in comparison to Candle-licious. I want to let everyone know that Candle-licious produces a high quality candle that will fill your home with any scent you like! Amazing! I'll be ordering again soon!

These are some great candles! I bought several votives in several scents, and wow....you can really smell them when you open the package!! I put the unburned ones in my closet to store, and now my closet smells great! One votive fills a room, and they burn very nicely. I will definately purchase from them again...

I bought two dozen votives to split between my mother and I and we both are totally in love with this line. We bought High Tide, Pink Grapefruit, White Tea, Merlot, Honeydew and Pumpkin Spice. So far, we've tried High Tide- which is my mother's favorite because it smells very "crisp and clean," Pink Grapefruit which is very nice, White Tea which is truly amazing and Honeydew. I love the Honeydew but my mother wasn't so fond. The most impressive thing is that the votives scent the entire room without being overpowering and it takes an entire day to consume the wax. The last one burned from 9:00am until 10 at night! Updated 12/22/05 to say: I met Sue and Dave at a craft fair when I was back home in IL for Thanksgiving. They couldn't be cooler and they are working on new scents, like coffee! Yum- can't wait!

I found out about Candle-licious on this site and decided to give it a try. I was really impressed with their candles. I ordered their votives in Orange Vanilla, White Tea, and Pomegranate. I first tried the Orange Vanilla votives. I just lit one of them in my living room, just to see if there was any truth at all to the claim of one votive scenting an entire room. Imagine my surprise when I headed back towards the living room fifteen or so minutes later and immediately noticed the scent! There is truth to their claims!!! It was amazing! I couldn't believe how powerful one votive was. The White Tea scent is also very nice and filled my bathroom as well as the hallway with it's scent. I haven't tried the Pomegranate yet, but I am expecting to have the same great results. With delivery, I received my order rather quickly, since I placed it on a Monday and received it on Friday of that same week. The prices are very reasonable and the customer service is excellent. I would definitely recommend ordering from this site and will be ordering again.

Due to the good reviews on Candlefind, I ordered several tea light candles, some tea light candle holders and some melts from Candle-licious. The time of order to delivery was prompt, products were well packed and I received a followup e-mail from Candle-licious so their customer service is A-1. The Harvest Time melts have scented my whole kitchen with the Indian Summer scent I was hoping for. I ordered Harvest Time and Angelic tea lights and both burn clean with a wonderful scent throw. I was particularly fond of the Angelic scent as it is similar to a perfume I use and the tea lights were completely accurate in duplicating that scent. The tea light holders I received surprized me. They are heavy, cut glass with little angels on them and are a great bargain for the price. The tea lights look very pretty, twinkling away in them, providing the room with a cozy glow. I would highly recommend Candle-licious and will be using this company again. Thanks to all who recommended this company and our terrific Candlefind site for helping we candle "groupies" find such good and reputable companies online.

I have ordered several tealights and found them to be very strongly scented and burned for a very long time. Ive tried hazelnut, key lime, pink grapefruit, pine mountain, rain. My all time favorite is the pine. As soon as i smelled it i thought it was christmas day . smells Exactly like a pine tree. no imitation of it whatsoever. they are by far my fav tealights. I will continue to order till i try every scent !

Votives and Jars-All burn well, no residue left on sides of jars as long as wicks re-centered. Among the strongest scented candles, lit or unlit. Nice glass jars and lids. I remove the label-too advertise-y- Would prefer to phone and web site be listed only on the bottom of jar. Loved:Hazelnut- Very authentic. Very strong!! Caramel Apple-Truly just like a Caramel Apple. Harvest Time-Fall favorite, non typical apple & cinnamon, very unique. Sin-a-bun- Not as I expected-mainly cinnamon scent.

I have been a candle lover for over 50 years, which means I've bought and burned ALOT of candles. These candles are one of the best, long lasting and beautifully fragranced candles I have ever bought. I would recommend anyone try them, because for the prices they have, you will be surprised with what you get. You to will want more!

All of these positive reviews persuaded me to try this company, even though I'd quit purchasing all paraffin candles many months ago. I like nature-influenced scents and several of highly ranked companies on this list don't offer much of this ilk. Candle-licious however offers several so I picked up a dozen votives, in 7 different scents, to try them out. After burning several, I find that to be fair to the company, that I've got to give them a 10 even though I'd rather the base be soy or palm oil. Their paraffin melts better than any other paraffin I've tried. The votives not only melt quickly all the way across, but build about a 1/4" deep melt pool, like a soy wax votive. The scents are fabulous, some of the best I've ever found. The "Walk in the Woods" is wonderful, capturing the smell of a hike in the woods better than any other attempt I've ever come across. "Pine Mountain", "Vermont Apple", and "Rain Forest" were also excellent in their reproduction of those smells. Only caveat is that the cost per hour of burn time is a bit high. They advertise that their 14 oz candles burn for 65-70 hours. So a 4 hour burn is about 95 cents a burn. Soy candles from a local shop only cost about 36 cents a 4 hour burn. The paraffin mix used seems to really soak up a scent, as they explain on their web page, but even for paraffin it seems to burn a little quicker than normal. So if you can afford to burn these candles, I think you'll love them.

I really do enjoy these candles. They do burn forever, I was very suprised about that, I have never had a candle burn for so long. The candle itsself is made very well, each one seemed perfect. The wick was always in the right place and they were very pretty. They also smelled very nice and burned very clean. I will use these again and will probably place another order tomorrow! I love the carmel apple!!

One evening I was visiting my cousin and, as usual, she was burning a candle. When she told me where she purchased it and the scent, I immediately went on line when I went home and logged on to Candle-licious. The scent is called Angelic and it is absolutely fabulous. My order came very quickly and before I unpacked my box completely I had to burn the jar candle immediately. I will not hesitate to order more from Candle-licious

I just received my second order from Candle-licious and these are the strongest scented candles I have ever bought. We have a two story family room that is open to the kitchen/Nook and dining room. I can burn three tea-lights on my kitchen bar and we can smell the fragrances not only in the kitchen, dining and family room but upstairs also. I have also tried their melts and they are even better at the scent throw! The melts are small but they pack a big punch. I thought with having such a big open room that I would need more then 5 melts but I was wrong. Within 30 minutes the scent was all through the house! So far I have tried Sin-a-bun, Coconut Smoothie, White Tea and Butter Cookie. I LOVE the coconut smoothie, white tea and sin-a-bun scents. You will be amazed at the scent throw with this company.

:p WOW the "Bees Knees" in Handcrafted Handpoured Triple-Scented Candles. Tried all the scents they had at the time of ordering. All are great. Some I didn't like only because they weren't my cup of tea - it's a personal thing. We don't eat pumpkin pies here and leather well ... we got lots of cows here!!! But most scents are amazing. Great scent throw. The melted hearts pack a powerful punch. I only used 2-3 hearts in a large enclosed lounge+dining room and the smell was awesome. The scent must have soaked into the curtains and furniture upholstery because the scent was STILL there 3 days later - with the room still closed up. I gave some hearts to a friend to try and she had the same astonished response. WE WANT MORE!!! :p The wax in all types melts into a full wax pool quite quickly to release their awesome scent. The Venting Lids they supply with every Jar is fantastic. I placed my jar in a closed lantern with an open top with the venting lid on and sat it in front of a fan on top speed - NOT EVEN THE SLIGHTEST OF FLAME FLICKERING! On checking the lantern - NO VISIBLE SOOT! - Even without wick trimming - which I know is a big NO NO. (y) The tealights are so pretty in their clear acrylic cups - much more preferred over them cheap looking alum tin cups. Definately need to increase the scent list esp. designer scents - Angelic is 20/10 Very authentic & highly recommended. Sue and Dave are so friendly and great communicators - quick in emailing me back with any and all queries. No restrictions on ordering in singles etc. unlike many other companies. Well Done Guys !!! (y) Keep 'em coming!!! :p

I received my tarts today after waiting only 2 days after it left the company. I orderd Orange/Vanilla, and Gardenia. I also received samples of their 4 new scents (Strawberry Daiquiri, Gardenia, Odor Eliminator, and Pure Vanilla). I started out with my all-time favorite, Orange/Vanilla. WOW, WOW, and WOW!!! It is TO DIE FOR!!! I have an open floor plan and within 10 mins it scented my whole house..I was going to send them an email, but decided to call them. I spoke with Dave, the owner, and expressed my utter joy with this scent. I knew if I searched long enough, I would find what I was looking for. I am VERY impressed with their candles and will be buying more real soon! I haven't melted any of the others ones yet, but if they turn out as good as the Orange/Vanilla, they will have a customer for life...

I bought a half dozen carmel apple votive candles and a lily of the valley jar candle. The votive candle from this company is unbelievable. I lit a votive in my upstairs bathroom and went on with my day. A couple hours later I went upstairs to get something and I smelled a very nice aroma at the bottom of the stairs, I couldn't believe that smell was coming from that one candle. I burned the lily of the valley jar candle in my family room and after a few hours it filled the room plus the scent traveled into my dining room. The candles burned good. I would definitely recommend this company. The price was great for the amount of smell these candles give off.

I really enjoyed the melts I purchased from Candle-licious. I ordered Baked Apple Strudel, Butter Cookie and Harvest. The Apple Strudel was wonderful. They scents were strong and true to their descriptions. The customer service was excellent. They even sent a free sample of their Carmel Apple melts which were also very good. I did have to use 8 to 10 of the melting hearts to get the scent throw I liked (they reccomend 5) but that could just be me. I would highly reccomend them and plan on trying some of their votives.

I ordered the melts in caramel apple, white tea and butter cookie. The white tea is one of my favorite scents now. You only need to melt about 4-5 to get a really great scent. The caramel apple was pretty good and strong. I didn't like the butter cookie as much. I had to use alot of the melts to get any kind of throw and I'm not so sure about the scent. I will be reordering the white tea...It's very clean smelling and very relaxing. I like the melts, they come in cute little bags which make them great for gifts too.

I ordered several votives to get a taste of these candles. They arrived nicely packaged with complimentary matches, which I thought was a nice touch. My review is as follows: Coconut Smoothie-Extremely yummy but doesn't really smell like coconut--more like cotton candy only not as sweet. Whatever it is, it ROCKS. Pomegranete- Once again, YUM. My boyfriend loved this smell, and he doesn't like many candle smells.Very fresh, fruity and not too sweet. Sugared Plums-Awesome scent with sugary plum smell; this one is sweet and good. Sex on the Beach- mixture of melon smells but not as strong as the three mentioned above. Nice smell though. Sun Ripened Raspberry-WOW the throw on this one is stupendous, and it is a true raspberry. All these votives had a great throw and scented all the open space in my kitchen and living room. They also completely liquified, like a good candle should. The only problem I am having is that the wick on one of my pomegranete candles will not stay lit. It appears to be an isolated problem. I just ordered a jar candle and some melts in the same scents as above, but I will report back on any new scents. So far, these are wonderful candles.

I have purchased from Candle-licious twice due to the reviews on this site. I really think this is a fantastic way to find out about great candles that you don't find in the mall, or gift shops. In fact they are much BETTER candles than you would find in those places! First, I think the shipping department at Candle-licious deserves a nice raise on their next review, because this shipping is lightning fast!! I ordered on my day off, and happened to check my e-mail about 90 minutes after I had ordered. There, from Candle-licious, was notice that my order had been shipped already! When I order, I am impatient, (as another candle vendor can attest to!), and it is great to know that your order is being attended to in the most rapid manner possible. Scents I have tried: WHITE TEA: I would recommend this to anyone. I do not smell tea in this scent, the first note I detect is pineapple. This is not a dupe of B&BW White Tea & Ginger, or the Westin White Tea scent, but it is very close to Bvlgari White Tea parfum. Descriptions do not list pineapple, but Ambrette, White Pepper, Artemesia, & Musk. This is lighter than it sounds, but wonderful. Tealights give almost as good a throw as the jar, which takes FOREVER to burn to the sides, 7-9 hours. This is an all day jar candle. The single wick is very thick, braided cotton, high quality. I suggested to Sue, the owner, that she double wick these jars, but she said that experiments along this line had been unsuccessful. I have since placed this jar in a Crockery Pot burner from Tart Burners.com. I get a moderate throw downstairs. I will try their melts next. As mentioned in previous reviews, jars come with a free topper that does help the candles burn to the edge. Even though these candles are not soy, the flame does not flicker, and there is no smoke or black residue on the jar. COCONUT SMOOTHIE tealight: This little guy packed a punch of vanilla/coconut delight! Burning for probably 7 hours, very strong. If you like vanilla/bakery/coconut scents, this is for you! I am a coconut hater, but I love the smell! My son gave a thumbs up on this one! POMEGRANATE tealight: Light artifical strawberry scent. RAINFOREST tealight: Common scent in discount store candles, was not impressed with this one! WALK IN THE WOODS tealight: Predominate cedar, & sandalwood in the background. A scent guys would love. I came home from work with a headache, and lit this to nap with. It kept going out after 5-10 minutes, and after the 5th try, I gave up. Sue stated they are working on this, the fragrance oil is very thick, and offered to replace my tealight. Candle-licious thought they had this problem solved, but apparently not. It is a great scent. SEA OF ECSTACY tealight: this is in the "fresh scent" catagory, but has some herbal notes in the background, it is pleasant, and as all Candle-licious tealights, burns forever. I would purchase this again. HIGH TIDE tealight: Another "fresh scent", this was non-offensive to the nose, but I personally liked Sea of Ecstasy better, the latter being a bit more complex. RAIN tealight: Upon cold sniff, I thought here is another cheap discount floral, and I had told Sue so. This is a case of speaking too soon, because this scent really softens up upon burning. Yes, it is a light fresh floral, but this became a favorite of my daughter upstairs in the hall bath. We have a pretty raised glass tealight holder, we were pleased with the throw and scent. If you like light floral with fresh notes, try this. Throw is great for a tealight! To finish, I would definitely recommend this company, but I probably would stick to their tealights, and melts. Some of the scents are simple and artifical smelling, and I wish they were soy-based. But they do have some winners, and if you want your candles fast, pick Candle-licious! The owners seem to be responsive to questions, and the website is an education in candles. They have a wide selection of EVERYTHING candle related, check them out!!

I was tired of grabbing a lighter to light my candles and needed wax melts/tarts for my warmer. Found them online by googling wax melts/tarts. I am currently using oatmeal cookie I believe this scent is. I am near the end of the scent so I am throwing in hot apple cider soon. These have a strong scent, but to fill my bedroom and other larger room I need to use 7-10 probably to smell across the room. Other than that go buy some and see for yourself.

I have ordered from this company a couple times and found thier shipping to be quick and their candles are very nice. I especially liked the caramel apple and apple strudel. I am an apple nut, and these were very nice. I thought the caramel apple was a medium strong throw and a nice caramel note to it. I didn't care for the butter cookie, but that is ok, because this is a scent I have been looking for for a long time and haven't found one that is just 'it' for me. I would order again, and try new scents. Great business.

I was looking for a strongly scented tealight to put into the many cute tealight holders that I had bought. I read the review not only from here, but from another candle site also. I decided to give them a try. What I liked about Candle-licious is that they offered trial tealight packs. You get to pick 4 seperate scents. I tried practically every scent they had except for the baker scents. This was really a great way to try the scents since some of the scents I thought I would like I didn't and vice versa. I ended up placing another order for their 12 pack tealights in a variety of fragrances. My favorites are - Plumeria, Lily of the Valley, White Tea, Strawberry Daiquiri, Orange Cream, Pepermint, Pumpkin Spice and Pine Mountain. In my first order, they had come out with some new scents and were sending out samples. You got to choose how you wanted your samples, tealights, votives, or melts. I tried their votives. They burned very clean and had a wonderfuly scent throw. Their customer service is very good. E-mails returned in a timely manner. I would very much recommend this company.

I purchased a tealight variety pack from the company to try the scents out. I had heard that the votives were very strong scented but had no idea how wonderful the tealights were as well. One tealight alone threw enough scent to fill my entire bedroom after only 15-20 min. of burn time. While the scents themselves are not complex (the rose petal tealight smelled like cheap bath salts) and somewhat limited, the strength of the smell from such a little candle more than makes up for it. My favorite scents were the Fresh Linen (smells just like my dryer sheet...snuggliscious) and Rain (which really does have a "watery" smell to it). Updated 10-20-07 Have now tried almost all of their votives and have developed definite favorites. First, let me say that I am not a fruit person and dislike most fruity flavors...for candles at least. Which is why I disliked Pomegranate and Merlot. The votives were wonderfully strong and one was able to fill up a large room within minutes. My favorites list has been revised to include Angelic (a musky floral with a touch of baked goodness) which I burn in my bedroom almost constantly. Walk in the woods was a bit too "cedar chip" for my personal tastes and I've found that I just prefer the Nag Champa incense sticks over the candles. Maybe it's the smoke and Eastern connotations that I really like...who knows. The lavendar scent suffered the same detractor as the rose: too articial smelling. I've just included a white tea votive with my latest Angelic shipment and will be trying that out next. Have to wait till this headcold leaves me though. 'Cause right now I can't smell a thing.

I wanted soo bad to be blown away by this candle company. I ordered their “White Tea (not any type of tea smell at all)” and “Coconut Smoothie(slight coconut scent and hardly any scent throw)” candles. The scents were just ok, the scent throw was good, and the overall quality of the candle is great. They gave me free candle covers and a free tea light. The reason I don’t think I will try them again is because of the lack of choices in scents. I might have been willing to give them another chance if they had more bakery type scents. They only have about 8 bakery type scents to choose from and of those 8 I would only consider buying two of them. They are good but I'm not blown away.

Disappointed in the strength of scent and throw. Perfect burn all the way across and left no wax. Not on my list of vendors to reorder from.

I definitely have mixed feelings about Candle-licious. I've only ordered from them once. I ordered only votives in most of the scents they had available, except for the floral/perfume-y ones. On the one hand, their votives have amazing throws and do last for hours on end...well over 12 hours each. On the other hand, though, I found many of the scents to be off or waaaay too artificial-smelling. I did love the Caramel Apple, Vermont Apple and Coconut Smoothie ones. But as for the rest, they just had a strange undertone that kept me from fully enjoying them :(. I might try again in the future...but with a little bit of trepidation. So I'd recommend you do as I did and sample their scents first, be it through votives or tealights, to make sure that they work for you. If they do, you're in for a treat because they are definitely highly scented and long-lasting candles :).

I tried Candle-Licious a few years ago when searching for some "just perfect" scents. The Cinnamon Spice just seemed "off" to me (which is quite likely personal interpretation, but I wanted to mention it) but the Peppermint and my nose was a match made in heaven. I'd been seeking a "curiously strong" Altoids-like Peppermint since I love superstrong peppermint. It does have a bit of an artificial smell, but have you sniffed an Altoids? It's nothing like the Peppermint plant. So, for me, this scent was spot-on and I've repurchased the heart tarts in the bulk bag (which is a better deal price-wise than the tiny muslin bags). I've purchased 2 of their jar candles, O Christmas Tree and Peppermint, and both smelled wonderful, threw very well, and burned clean with no waste, no soot, and no wick issues. They do have their candlemaking skills finely honed. I've also tried the Rose Petals scent (reminds me of Perfumer's Workshop Tea Rose... strong and pretty) and Strawberry Daiquiri. SD is a very true scent because you can smell the rum in addition to the strawberry. If you're looking for bakery strawberry - this isn't it. But it IS what it says it is. Customer service is prompt and friendly. My only complaint is that the smallest offering is $4.95, which doesn't lend itself well to sampling scents. I don't want to invest $5 and then find a scent is just not for me. I gravitate toward vendors who offer $1 or $2 tarts so that I can sample a scent - and *then* commit to a candle or larger tart purchase. That's probably the main reason I've not explored Candle-Licious's offerings in more depth.

I ordered from this site after reading reviews. I enjoyed the melts I received in Walk in the Woods and Vermont apple (free) The scent throw from the melts was great!! I also ordered a electric tart melter which is beautiful and works well. I was disappointed with the tea lights. I ordered Walk in the Woods and they will only burn for a short time, the wicks are low and go out. The cold scent is a strong cedar smell. I can't say I would order tea lights again. Melts are great!! UDATE**** 10FEB06 I thought I should relate that this company does care about it's customers. Recently they sent me an email asking me to retry the Walk in the Woods tealights, as that oil is thick and often they have a hard time with it. They sent me 12 FREE TEALIGHTS, more than I had originally bought-NICE!! These tealights are a great improvement, they last a very long time, have that same cedar "woodsy" scent. I was impressed that they took the time to contact me and send me free tealights to try. I would be willing to try their candles for this reason. They seem like a caring company and the tealights I received are very nice and last a long time. Thanks for your time!! *****06APR06******* Ordered three jar candles in Coconut Smoothie, Sugar Plum, and White Tea. I have only burned the Coconut Smoothie and get a good throw only in my small office-it is a bit "perfume-y" to me, not too much like coconut. I still have the other two to try and will stick with the smaller rooms. ************22APR06 Been trying to figure out what it is about these candles that bothers me. Now after reading some reviews I have it!!! They have that underlying scent!! All 3 of the candles I bought have the same scent-not a horrible scent, just the same scent and it distracts me from what the candle is supposed to smell like. :(

After reading the great reviews I ordered several bags of melting hearts from Candle-licious. First, the positives. Great customer service, very fast turnaround time, and excellent competitive prices. The melting hearts are appealing as a gift also, because the tiny hearts are really cute. Now, the not so positives. While I do think a few of the scents I chose are quite nice, I agree with other reviews that there is *something* I can't put my finger on that is a common underlying scent in every one of the scents I bought. It's not exactly perfume-y, it just smells...waxy? Hard to describe, but the foody scents, fruity scents and florals all had something unfamiliar on each cold sniff. Perhaps it is their wax formula? The scent throw is strong and fills a whole room (or more) easily. I used 10 melting hearts at a time. Each bag contains 40 hearts, so I figure I'll get 4 uses out of each bag. The price is right - that makes it less than a dollar for each melting session. Definitely great on prices. While the muslin bag they come in is a cute idea, I honestly found it a little cumbersome. I ended up pouring the hearts out of the muslin sachet bag and just storing them in the plastic baggies instead. IF you want to use these as drawer sachets, the muslin bag would be good for that purpose. Onto the scents: Coconut Smoothie - a definite coconut but not overwhelming, with sweetness combined. It's not knock-your-socks-off coconut but it's nice. White Tea - smells like a lovely, calm floral, would love it in my master bathroom. Very strong. Fresh Linen - basic clean laundry scent, also very strong. Peppermint - nice basic peppermint extract type scent, also very strong on cold sniff. Probably the most realistic of all the scents I got. I think of candy canes - so I will be melting this a lot around the holidays. Very Vanilla - still haven't found the right vanilla and this isn't it either - this is more your grocery store vanilla extract type scent, not gourmet - and that waxy undertone mentioned above is really pungent in this one particularly. Sun Ripened Raspberry & Strawberry Daquiri - honestly, I do not think I will melt either of these because I'm not fond of either on cold sniff at all. I found these a bit artificial smelling. Caramel Apple - nice on cold sniff, I get equal sweet caramel plus fresh apples. I like the caramel a lot and think a straight caramel from this company would be very nice. *update - not a very good scent throw even with a total of 12 mini hearts in my tart melter* Cinammon Spice - not my favorite cinnamon - I like that rich, pungent scent of true cinnamon vs. the "red hot candies" type. It's hard for me to describe this particular cinnamon, it's a little spicy but again there's almost something a little perfumey about this one - was not the rich dark cinnamon scent I prefer. Again, this is a nice company to do business with. They included complimentary melting hearts in my order, and their prices are great. A final note - you know how there are certain candles or melts you burn and you could swear a pie was in the oven, because the scent is SO authentic? Well, I think I pinpointed what bothers me most about Candle-licious - it is so obvious you have a candle or a melt going because the scents are just not very authentic or "real". That doesn't mean some scents aren't nice, because they are. It just means you won't fool anyone including yourself with these candles because they carry a very obvious "candle wax smell" alongside their fragrance oils.

I am finally getting around to putting my review up....I ordered from this company about a year ago. I ordered about 10 different scents in their mini heart tarts. At first, I was pleased with the look of the product. The bags were adorable and many scents were wafting through the box. Then I started to smell them cold. Some of the scents smelled nice: Coconut Smoothie, Nag Champa, Baked Apple Strudel, Key Lime and White Tea. But they just smelled nice. Nothing terrific or wonderful. Some smelled sooooo bad that I had to throw them away! I even tried to give them away because I thought it might just be me. No one wanted them. The scents that had the strangest smell were Harvest Tyme, Rain Forest, Walk in the Woods and Sin-a-bun. (Usually you can't go wrong with a Cinnabun frangrance.) Needless to say, I won't be ordering again. :(

I was very dissappointed with this company because the votives I ordered were not authentic smelling and they had an underlying smell to them that made me sick. The positive side is they do have a good scent throw if you can stand the smell of them and they seem to burn nicely I just dont care for that underlying smell in them. It must just be the wax they use.

I ordered a bunch of votives after reading so many great reviews. I was quite disappointed. I found the candles to burn very well and throw off lots of scent but the scents were awful to my way of thinking. I will not be purchasing these again.

I'm truly scratching my head about the numerous great reviews for these candles. I purchased 3 candles solely because of the high ratings on Candlefind and boy, did I learn my lesson. From now on, I am buying tarts first from *any* new company I try. Where to begin? I bought 3 of the 14 oz. apothecary jars in Rain, Lily of the Valley and Vermont Apple. The apothecary jars come with a great "venting lid" to help the candle burn "clean" and "strong". One of the first things I noticed when I unpacked the candles and smelled them cold is that they all shared a certain unique unpleasant underlying smell, as another reviewer noted. I burned the Vermont Apple candle for 4 hours the first night and normally in my reviews I would describe the scent in some detail and talk how authentic it was. But I am completely at a loss for words to describe the scent of the Vermont Apple candle. The closest I can get is that it was a very sweet, tart, stomach-turning artificial smell. VERY artificial. Now, for the good news. Holy cow did this candle have a scent throw! After I burned it for about an hour, I could smell it throughout my entire house. It was easily one of the VERY strongest candles I have ever burned. When I woke up the next morning, I would swear that I could still smell it lingering in the air. When I sniffed the cold version of the Rain and Lily-of-the-Valley candles, I had the same sensory experience. Artificial and perfumey. Honestly, I wasn't even the least bit enticed to burn the remaining two candles. I plan to just give them away. I realize that smell can be very subjective, so I should just close by saying that the particular candles I tried were not pleasing to my olfactory senses. I know there are a lot of fans of this company, so do take this review into consideration with all of the other (mostly GREAT) reviews and please judge for yourself. If you are as intrigued by all the very positive reviews as I was, I would encourage you to try their tarts first (which come in a very cute drawstring bag) before you make the bigger investment in the candles.

SPECIAL SALE: To get $10 off a Candle-licious order of $30 or more during the month of September '05, read the "Summary" above. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A NOTE FROM CAROLYN: (webmaster of Candle Find) Since I've created this review board to replace the old visitor candle review section of CandleFind, I have to move old visitor reviews here to the board. I had a few visitor reviews of Candle-licious that I am posting below. Each review is by a different visitor of Candle Find. I've included their name along with their review. Visitor Review of Candle-licious by Kathy V. : (added to site on 4/17/04) "I didn't know how much I'd appreciate Candle-licious candles until I was housebound for two months following surgery. I was weak, immobile, and depressed. One day while everyone was working I "snuck" out of the house in a cab to a local craft show hoping I'd find those candles again. I did! In the past I've tried KEY LIME, MERLOT, GRAPEFRUIT, and HONEY DEW - very nice. But this time I wanted fresh, outdoor, or subtle smells. I bought tealight packs of SEA OF ECSTACY, RAIN, LILAC, BAYBERRY, PINE, and ROSE PETALS. Back home and worn out it wasn't very long before I was in a SEA OF ECSTACY. This was my "aroma" therapy for the rest of my recuperation. One tealight lasts 5-6 hours and leaves a fragrant, lingering smell. I was hooked on the candles. I'm feeling better now but wanted more candles so I impetiously bought tealights at another craft show recently. I thought they were the same ones but soon discovered the new candles had almost no aroma (although the candle itself smelled nice) plus it burned out so fast! I didn't know candles could be so different. I found an old wrapper and CANDLE-LICIOUS brand was the one I wanted. Now I can shop for the right candles through their website no matter how I'm feeling. And their website led me to you." ------------------------------------------------ Visitor Review of Candle-licious by Tina: (added to site on 10/26/04) "I just wanted to tell you that I tried tealights from Candle-licious. They were the BEST tealights I have ever used.  I have been using another very popular brand for over 7 years.  Since I found Candle-licious, I prefer to order only theirs.  Their fragrances are very authentic.  Their customer service is excellent.  My e-mails to them regarding suggestions about fragrances, etc. have always been responded to personally and promptly.  I would highly recommend them to anyone." ------------------------------------------------ Visitor Review of Candle-licious by Marilyn: (added to site on 11/26/04) "I am writing to let you know that "Candle-Licious" has absolutely the most wonderful, highly scented candles, I have ever used. I tried various scents from them, and honestly can't pick a favorite. They are all Truly the best!  People who haven't tried them yet, just don't know what they are missing!  Pam & Dave are extremely friendly, and wonderful to do business with. I have referred "Candle-Licious" to many people and hope you do too!" ------------------------------------------------ Visitor Review of Candle-licious by Wendy: (added to site on 1/31/05) "Hi Carolyn... I tried Candle-licious candles, actually before reading your review.  They have a new scent not yet on their menu Butter Cookie; it is currently only available in votives and melts.  I used these occasionally too as well as the jars.  I think the scent in Amazing, very strong and lasting.  I recently tried the Caramel Apple based on your review. This too, is another incredible scent.  I am not sure what I will try next, but Candle-licious is another good “candle find” (pardon the pun)."
