I LOVE White Barn Real Essence Candles. I have to wait for sales because the price is way over the top for me. They do have good sales when they have them. We don't have a White Barn at our local mall, but Bath and Body has quite a few to choose from. I think our B&B has even quit carrying the small size. In the 7.5oz. size I have tried: Bartlett Pear- Awesome! Will scent my whole house. Red Delicious- Great apple scent, which is my favorite scent of all time. very fresh... Kitchen Spice- a great spicy scent, not very strong Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin- an awesome fall scent Creamy Caramel- great scent, my hubby's favorite In the 15oz size I have tried: Spiced Cider- this was a gift and not one I would have gotten on my own, but a great fall scent. Creamy Nutmeg- this is the only one I would not buy again, I am getting no scent from it at all, I should take it back, because the rest of the candles have been awesome and filled my home with some awesome scents. B&B is very good at taking items back if you are not satisfied. I highly recommend these candles. update...6/29... I traded my Creamy Nutmeg for Blissful Blackberry and still no scent after it was lit for a few hours. I also got a large Cinnamon Stick as a gift and not much scent either... is anyone else having this problem?? I hate to keep returning, but they cost way too much to just sit around... I will just stay with the apple, pear and caramel, since I already know they are very nice. Thanks for listening!

mmmm, mmmmm, what can i say, this candle is number 1!I have seen these candles in Bath and Body Works all the time, but never bought any because of the expensive price, until they had a buy one get one free sale! I had to get some! I like the flowery, fresh, and fruity (not "foody" lol) scents the best so I went for those first, and they all smelled great, but then i came across Warm Apple Pie...HEAVEN!!! It smelled soooo good I had to get two of them. The sent throw is amazing and fills my room up with the amazing apple pie fragrance! This candle is actually my first foody scent fragrance, but how can you resist?! I highly recommend this candle to every apple scent lover out there, and also to people like me who don't usually go for these scents! I'll be stocking up on them when another sale comes along!:)

I've become absolutely hooked on the Home Fragrance Oils from The White Barn Candle Co. I really like that they are so easy to use and store. Simply add up to 20 drops (it usually takes only half of that amount) of oil to the oil warmer, light a tealight, and in minutes begin to enjoy the wonderful fragrances. I have a White Barn Oil Warmer and their instructions recommend not burning an oil in the warmer for longer than two hours. I've always had a lasting scent in much less time. The scents I've tried from White Barn are: Warm Apple Pie, Brown Sugar & Fig, Black Raspberry Vanilla, Fresh Vanilla, Moonlight Path (favorite), Cucumber Melon, Berry Cobbler (favorite), Pumpkin Pie Paradise, and Warm Vanilla Sugar (favorite.) The oils come in a .33 FL. Oz. glass bottle making them very easy to store. A great product definitely worth a try!

I agree with Carolyn and recommend this line. In fact, if anyone is a pumpkin fffffffreak like I am, try their Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin because it is actually the best pumpkin I've found. I've tried many of them and I'm very very picky! Their pumpkin so so true and so beautiful to fill your home with during the fall harvest. I got my mother hooked on it and all of her friends wonder what she's got going on because he home always smells so great. It has been so long since I've bought one I don't remember the prices. I guess I'll find out this fall when I have my pumpkin craze again! Edit was made: I tried the Marble Cake candle and it is just as wonderful as the reviewer on here stated. It and my Sweet Pumpkin Spice are two of my favorite candles. I will try more of their line when I get a chance because so far they are batting 2 for 2.

When I first lit my 15 oz. Real Essence jar candle, I was surprised how fragrant it was. The first scent I had was Moonlight Path, which I highly recommend if you like the rest of this line at Bath and Body Works. Now I am addicted to Bartlett Pear which will permeate any room. Although these candles are a bit expensive at about 17.50 for a 15 oz. candle (unless you hit a BBW sale!), they are worth it. They burn a relatively long time for their size.

I really like the White Barn Candles. I have burned several, and love their jars. At Christmas they sell the Vanilla Bean Noel, which is to die for. I actually went online to Bath & Body works and bought 2 of them after Christmas, love that scent. I also like the fall scents they have, pumpkin, apple and a few years ago they had the Maple, which was my fav. Creamy Nutmeg is great also. I have burned several of these, the scent throw is good, and most of the time they burn fairly well. I recommend these candles :)

I have been purchasing White Barn Candles for years. The Real Essence line is okay, but I really love the Tahitian Vanilla line. I recently purchased the Vanilla Coconut in a 14.5 oz. jar for only $5.00 - it was BBW big summer clearance sale. I think they cost normally around $20. If you are a coconut lover as I am, you will love this candle! It has three wicks and a huge throw! My living and family rooms fill up quickly with this scent. It smells like a very creamy vanilla with a strong coconut scent thrown in. Because it's not as much of a tropical scent, I would burn this year round. It has burned cleanly with no tunneling or left over wax. I don't keep the wicks trimmed super short because they would drown in the wax. I would highly recommend this scent, even if you have to pay full price. I will probably buy another when this one is burned out! Another scent that I don't own but have smelled at a friend's is the Juicy Nectarine. It's a pretty new White Barn scent, but very cute packaging and very strong throw! I plan to buy one when they hopefully go on sale soon:) These candles are not cheap, but I love the quality and scents much more then Yankee which are the same price.

Ever since I've started Candle Find, I've noticed that White Barn Candles seem to be really well-known among candle lovers. I wanted to see what all the fuss what about, so I splurged a few months ago and bought one of their small glass container candles from Bath & Body Works. The candle is from their True Temptations collection in their Marble Cake scent. When I first lit this candle, I couldn't believe the scent coming from this candle. It's smells SO good and SO authentic...just like a marble cake is baking in the oven. I just love burning this candle. Everytime I burn it, I find myself in this wonderful smelling marble cake cloud of yummy-ness. My mom was over once when I was burning it and she said, "that candle smells just like there's marble cake baking here!" Hey, it's pretty cool...I can make my guests think I've been slaving over a hot stove...without having to do anything but light a wick! That sounds good to me. I want to buy more candles from White Barn just to get a better feel for their scent selection. My little candle was a bit pricey and I have so many candles in my living room that need to be reviewed, so I keep putting off buying more, but I'll get around to it one of these days. So far, I recommend White Barn Candles! Carolyn Later addition to review - Just wanted to say I tried their Orange Ginger aromatherapy candle tin....I love it! I never thought I'd enjoy the smell of ginger, but it's pretty cool and I kind of felt invigorated when I was burning it. It's more heavy on the ginger than it is on the orange. So far, I am loving White Barn Candles!

After reading the reviews I purchased some candles. I purchased the marble cake of course in a 22 oz, an apple mint 22oz and a cinnamon pumpkin in 15oz. I LOVE the apple mint, it is a unique scent, the mint is tamed with the apple and the throw is good-not too strong, but enough that you notice it in a large room. I have not burned the marble cake, but the cold smell is yummy. The 15 oz Cinn Pumpkin is a little disappointing-this is one of my fav fall scents in lotions and stuff from BBW, so maybe I expected a bit much. The scent throw is just not there! :( The candles burn very clean. The 2 larger jars have 3 wicks and are contemporary. The smaller jar 15oz is apothecary with only one wick. For future purchases I would stick with sales and buy only the largest jars. Thanks for listening!! **************07May06 I have been burning my Marble cake candle(22oz) a lot and it has been burning very clean and the throw is quite nice. I have not had any trouble with the wicks. My favorite is still the Apple Mint(22oz)-I will buy this one again when I finally burn the other one all the way down!! :)

I purchased a Creme Brulee about a week ago and I am still using it in my kitchen. It has lasted very well and gives a great scent throw. It smells delicious. I am very happy with this candle and will purchase another when I am at BBW.

I purchased three of their 4 ounce jar candles at 3 for $15.00 regular price is $9.50 each. I got a vanilla coconut, honeysuckle blossoms and heirloom apple. They all have very strong, true scents and good scent throws when lit. Although not recommended by this company, after I had burned the apple one for a few hours I placed it on an electric candle warmer and it worked perfectly. These candles both burn and melt very evenly and put out lots of scent. My only complaint is that they are pretty pricey unless on sale. All in all a good company. I have an update as I went back and purchased a few of their votives. I was quite disappointed. After only burning about 90 minutes they were drowning out and the scent had changed from a pleasant true smell to a waxy artificial one. I definitely would not waste time and money purchasing this company's votives. 11/04/06 I purchased small jar candle of the marble cake and it smelled wonderful. However, it drowned out really quickly and I had to melt it on my warmer. If these jars would just burn right they would be perfect as the scents are great.

I received a honeysuckle candle as a gift. The jar was gorgeous and the scent true and strong. I had trouble with tunneling though, and at a certain point could not get the wick to stay lit at all. For the money, I'll go somewhere else.

For Mother's Day my hubby got me a gift basket from Bath & Body Works that had a White Barn Candle Co. Warm Vanilla Sugar candle in it. (I told him to just go to any Hallmark Store and get me any Yankee brand candle..but oh well, that is not the point here! lol) The candle in inself was very nice looking. I like the jar it came in. I looked at the website and it was a 15 ounce candle that sells for $17.00. (on sale right now for $15) The description on the website for the scent is: "A warm and comforting scent with vanilla, coconut, basmati rice and a touch of soft sandalwood. " I liked this candle...just ok. It is not one that I would purposely go out and buy. I thought I could smell a cologne type smell in it, I guess that is the sandalwood. I don't particulary like any scent like that. I could smell the vanilla but not coconut. And basmati rice??? Well....I have no idea what that even smells like.....did not realize rice had a smell!!! This candle has left residue down the sides as it has burned down. Which is not a big deal to me. Other than that, it has been burning fine.

I have tried a couple of these candles and for the most part they are nice. I really prefer stronger scents in candles, etc., and these are a little light to me. I do like their packaging in the nice round jars, and that their fragrances are pretty true to the BBW fragrances. One of my favorites from WB is their True Temptations Buttered Mashed Potato scent. Oh my goodness! This is so yummy... good enough to eat. It is a scent that you probably wouldn't expect to find in candles, but I am glad I picked it up. All of the yumminess without eating all of the carbs :)

I found the Real Essence line a big disappointment after lighting them. There was very little scent throw. However, I love the True Temptations candles. I bought 6 of the small 4 oz. jars (White Barn New York) in a clearance sale. There is a variation of fragrance strength as I found the food scents to be a lot stronger than the florals. The tiny little jar of Mint Chocolate Chip filled the entire kitchen! They all burned evenly and right down to the bottom of the jars.

i have not had good luck with the White Barn jar candles. However I picked up one of their tins from BBW. It is very good. The scent is "apple". It is authentic with a good scent throw. It also has developed a good melt pool, and burned to the edges. I will definitely pick up another of these small tins.

This review is for the White Barn New York line of candles available at Bath and Body Works. I recently purchased the 22oz. "True Temptations Marble Cake" scented candle and wow, it smells wonderful. I absolutely love the packaging - a nice frosted jar that looks like a simple cylinder with a very cute almost retro style label, and a flat sleek silver topper - very modern looking and attractive packaging vs. the more traditional country looking jar type candles. The packaging of the candle gets an A+ from me. When burning this candle, I could really smell the realistic marble cake smell throughout my downstairs. I was very pleased with the scent throw. The fact that the candle has 3 wicks is very nice. However, even with 3 wicks this candle produced a very weak flame and had a "drowning wick" problem, which resulted in tunneling and a few times, the flames extinguishing themselves in the wax. No matter what I did to try and help the candle along, even pouring out some wax as suggested online when I searched for help, this candle continued to have a weak flame. From what I've researched online, a weak flame can likely be caused by the wicks being too small/thin for the size of the candle. Perhaps if they'd used thicker wicks the candle would have burned perfect. I called Bath and Body and they were more than happy to take the candle back. Thinking I got a bad batch, I bought another, but the same thing happened with the wicks. On another board it was mentioned that White Barn has had this problem before, hopefully, they will fix it soon because the candle itself smelled divine and the scent throw, when it WOULD burn okay, it was very good. If I didn't experience the wick problem, I'd have rated this a 10.

I love bbw products and scents, so I decided to try their candles. I bought warm vanilla sugar and peony. they both smell elegant and true scents, but the candles always had an uneven burn and the scent throw is alittle weak for me.I burn them for hours and still smell weak. Warm Vanilla Sugar : Sweet, sophisticated, and warm. Peony: Just like Tea Rose scent, its frloral and herbal. I love this one the most. Coconut Lime Vervena: Coconut, lime a creamy citrus scent.Too weak to tell unless you sniff the candle itself. Orange and Grapefruit: Creamy orange vanilla iceream with hints of grapefruit. I love their scents but the candles are too weak and waste most of the wax and tunnel. I might buy Peony again though as well as Warm Vanilla Sugar because they are my favorate candle scents and do scent my small bedroom.

In my opinon, I think these candles smell wonderfully cold, but don't smell as good when lit. The throw is OK. It burns evenly, but for me, not cleanly. I usually buy soy candles because the smoke from regular candles hurt my nose, but I got a coupon for a buy one, get one free candle so I decided to use it. I got the cinnamon & clove scent candle free. It smelled like cinnamon & clove, but I really wanted it to smell more of the cinnoman than the clove. The throw was okay and it burned evenly. It didn't burn cleanly because of the draft I put it near so like I said before, I can't blame the candle for that. I bought a 16 oz candle in the pumpkin scent from The Perfect Autumn collection. It smells just like a real pumpkin. It doesn't smell like pumpkin pie or have a hint of sweet or cinnamon - just the smell of a fresh-cut pumpkin. I was surprised at how evenly the candle burned. The candle didn't burn cleanly for me. It smoked a lot & the flicker went crazy, but I think it was because I put the candle near a draft in my house so I can't blame the candle for that. The throw wasn't strong at all, which I liked, but I'm sure others don't. I lit it in my bedroom and you can barely smell it. I returned the candles and Bath & Body Works were very nice about taking them back. I wouldn't recommend these candles if you like a strong throw or don't like paraffin candles. They're pricey for what you get especially since the throw is weak. There's also many candle companies that are cheaper and of better quality.

I purchased the 16 oz. Real Essence jar in Sweet Pea during the half-yearly sale for $10. The cold throw smelled great but after lighting it for a few hours I could barely smell anything unless I was directly over the candle. I've read the other reviews so maybe it's just this particular scent? Also, since the jar only has one wick it has a hard time getting to the edges unless you burn it for hours which makes it inconvenient when you only want to light it for a couple hours. Wish it were double-wicked. On the plus side, it does burn cleanly and the jar is very pretty.

I have a problem with these candles, they are overpoweringly sweet and the true scent doesn't come through, they just make me sick. Last time I was in the store, one was burning and I left. The overpoweringly sweet smell is something I've found in a few other candles as well. I wonder just what is in the candle formula?

I received 2 pillar candles from this company in a gift basket from B&BW in Night Blooming Jasmine & Sweet Pea. Both are good duplications of the B&BW scents but they have absolutely no scent throw when burning. Even though I didn't buy these myself I've browsed these candles before and know that they are a little pricey. So in my opinion they are not a good buy for their price. Although if I catch a sale, I may try one of their jar candles.

I bought a three pack of sweet pea, lilac, and lavender small jars. I also picked up a couple of home fragrance votives. The wicks are so thin I could not keep the votives lit, as others have experienced. I will update when I burn the small jars - but I anticipate having to use them on a warmer, as the wicks in the jars seem to be just as thin. I like floral scents, and these were pleasant florals.

Of the various look-alike candles that Bath & Bodyworks carries, those with the White Barn labeling seem to have been the best scent-wise for me, both in terms of throw and of "mmmm... nice!" factor. The jar is the plain, simple glass with a sliver lid that sends me scurrying for a candle ring or other decor to spruce it up a bit since it's just too "naked" for my decorating taste. They do come in handy for re-using for storage of small craft items, etc. which is nice. The candles themselves burn clean and completely. I've burned more than a half-dozen of these and none has failed yet. Some do tend to have some near-drowning issues with the wicks and cannot be used for marathon burns. If they're extinguished and re-lit after awhile, the wick is OK (it's never a fatal drowning... just a poor flame performance). The label says I can expect 25 - 40 hours from a candle, and I've found that to be accurate. The scents I've tried: Cinnamon and Clove Buds - a bit too sweet on the cinnamon side for my taste (your mileage may vary) but it does have a good strong throw, which is always a pleasant surprise for me with a mass-produced mall type candle. I used a small candle in a 250 sq. ft. room and the scent made its presence know nicely. Fresh Lemonade - I bought this in hopes of finding my One True Lemon love, but this one wasn't it. The description mentioned a hint of grapefruit, but to be honest, they should've called it Fresh Grapefruit Juice with a hint of lemon. It wasn't unpleasant... just not what the description made me think it would be. I relegated this one to my 25 sq. ft. bath since the throw, while noticeable, wasn't as powerful as the cinnamon candle (and the fact I was still testing for lemons in the larger room!) This one didn't have any wick issues and I could let it burn merrily away in my bath with no worries. Sugar Cookie - yum! Great scent... just wish there were more of it. It's a light thrower, but follows the pattern of clean, complete burn and happily no wick issues. The normal retail price on these was $9.50, which, if you stop to think about it, is pretty bold for a candle that is about the size of 2 votives, or 2 large scent shot melts (4 oz.) I think $4.50 would be more in keeping with what you get for your money. These are average, OK candles and should have an average OK price. They're premium priced, but I don't see a premium performance. I purchased mine during a 75% off sale and am happy with them at the $2.35 price. None of them were "ooooh!"-worthy enough to make me buy them at $4.50, never mind $9.50. Fortunately, the frequent sales makes them more reasonably priced and worth picking up a few if you find them.

I have bought alot of candles from B&BW and I just can't get into them. I've bought sweet pea, peony, shore breeze, sweet cinnamon pumpkin, cinnamon vanilla and moonlight path which I like the most. I have also bought the hot apple pie, baked sugar cookie, guava passionfruit, and white cream from the True Temptations line. At first I loved all of these until I started to burn other companies candles. Of all these candles the best ones were baked sugar cookie, hot apple pie, sweet pea, moonlight path and shore breeze, which had a clean zest soap scent. I would definitely buy elsewhere before spending the money on these candles.Try other candles and you will realize how these candles have a somewhat fake smell to them. I also bought marble cake and thought the scent throw was very weak!Sorry B&BW!

Tried 4 candles from a buyone/getone promo. Really enjoyed the scents. Really annoyed by the wicks that wont stay lit. This improved after I poured out some of the wax. But why waste it and why bother with the mess when there are better products out there. Thank you.
