Some how I ended up with one of these little glass votive candles with a metal lid in a EBay candle box lot. I had hung onto it for a while (like maybe 2 years and I don't know how long the original owner had it). I only recently decided to burn it. I had no expectations and to be honest, the scent was not chosen by me -- "Pumpkin Spice", and I did not at first realize it was a SOY candle. The cute little crumbles melted into the candle completely after the first burn of approx 6 hours. I blew it out and after trimming the wick -- it's only about 1/4" gone and still smell pretty great! (more maplely than pumpkin) I definately would consider buying a full size Swan Creek Candle some time in the future. Julianne

I had never heard of Swan Creek until my sister in law from Michigan sent me a box of various votives. She told me she likes them better than Yankee. I,too, love these candles, but you would think since they are made in Ohio that they would be around more. I did find one nursery near by that carries them, but not the whole line. After using my box of votives I have purchased several 6 oz. jars. The 2 that I love are Gingerbread, a great homey, fall scent. Goes thru my whole house. My other favorite is Almond Biscotti. very nice, strong scent. I love it. Two that I wouldn't buy again are Snickerdoodle and Lemon Icebox Cookies, there was not enough scent for me, not strong enough. They do burn very well, I just wish they were easier to find. I would highly recommend Swan Creek Candles.

I received a Lilac Mist 12 oz. Potting Shed Jar candle as a gift. I have to say, I am pleasantly surprised with this candle. The jar is a wide mouth jar so even though it is only 12 oz., the melt pool is quite sufficient. I contacted the company to get a list of stores in my area that carry these candles. I know this one came from Anderson's here in Ohio, so I can't wait to see if there is a store closer to me. Just call or email them and give them a few zip codes to work with. I would rather go to a store and buy them than shop online because like others have said, there is a minimum order of $25. However, if I found scents I liked then I would have no problem paying for shipping and ordering $25 worth. The wick mushrooms a little, but not the worst I've seen and the wax is a pretty lavender color. There are little crumbie melts sprinkled on the top of the candle and the jar has a picture of purple flowers on the label. Nice presentation. The throw is pretty strong, perfect for me because I like it strong, but not overpowering. It filled my kitchen nicely, filtered into my dining room, and can occasionally be smelled in the living room. I do really love this particular lilac scent. Very authentic! Another bonus for me is because these are wide mouth jars, all my candle shades (Home Interiors & Walmart) fit perfectly in the jar. I usually have to buy apothecary jars for my shades, but this candle looked so pretty with the nice label and my floral shade. I am so happy! All in all, I would purchase Swan Creek candles again if given the chance to smell them in person. I'm just getting more cautious because I've wasted a lot of money here lately buying scents online I would not have purchased had I smelled them cold first. Give these candles a try, I like them a lot. ***UPDATE*** March 7, 2007 I've purchased two more: Cinnamon Spice and Caramel Pecan Pie. Both are strong, but not knock-you-over strong, which I like so I can burn several throughout the house. Swan Creek did call me back with several stores near me, three of which are less than a 30 minute drive. I will definitely continue to buy these candles.

I've recently discovered Home Fragrance Oils from Swan Creek Candle Co. and I love these! They scent your home in minutes. The scents are strong and lasting. I simply add 1/8 of a teaspoon to a tealight oil warmer and in minutes the oil fills the room, sometimes the entire house with fragrance. You only need to burn the oils for a short length of time. After the desired fragrance level is achieved, just blow out the tealight and the wonderful fragrance lingers. My local store sells the fragrance oils for $4.39 (I believe they're $5.00 online) for .5 Fl.Oz. which is a real bargain because the bottles last a long time. The scents I've tried are: Lemon Icebox Cookie (favorite), Snickerdoodle (favorite), Buttercream Vanilla, and Raspberry Cream.

This review is of Swan Creek Candles' Decadent Drizzle Melts ONLY. I've tried other products here, but for me the soy Decadent Drizzle Melts were the stand-out product. These melts look and smell absolutely edible. They came in a plastic box, like bakery cookies. The melts were layered brittle with drizzles all over the top. The scents were swoon-worthy and strong. My favorites are: Lemon Icebox Cookies, Vanilla Poundcake, Gingerbread, Dutch Apple Pie. mmm mmm I liked all of the scents I tried in the Decadent Drizzles. There was free shipping and a free jar candle with a $50 purchase. It was easy for me to fill a $50 cart. I want more of these!

I absolutely adore these soy candles, especially the Kitchen Pantry Jar line. They are really cute, with tin lids & little crumbie melts on top of each candle. I stumbled across these at a local Hallmark & have seen them at a few primitive shops. I have purchased quite a few of the 6oz. jars, which retail for around $8 - a bit pricey, but I've found they're worth it. The scents I've tried include: Caramel Pecan Pie, which is a nice nutty, buttery scent; Hazelnut (I think this is their signature scent); Snickerdoodle, which is a comforting blend of spicy cinnamon & sweet cookie; and, Lemon Icebox Cookies, which is a wonderful lightly fruity & warm scent. The company also offers Dessert Candles, which come in little cast iron skillets, kettles & muffin pans. These appear as if they've been baked right in their containers. And as an added plus, you can order candle refills for the skillets. For me, Swan Creek Candles are an indulgence - one I'm not likely to give up any time soon!

I splurged and ordered from Swan Creek and I'm so glad I did! They have the cutest stuff, candles in tins and pans, a skillet tart melter and votives that come in cute cast iron cups. The scents are great and so is the throw. My favorite is the Burbon Caramel Gingersnap. They included a 3 oz freebie in my order and that little candle is strong enough to scent my bedroom! My candles are clean burning too. I also bought their version of tarts, which are wax crumblies. The lemon icebox cookies is out of this world. This scent fills almost the whole house. The shipping was fast and they answered questions via e-mail quickly too. They send updates to your order so you know when it ships and tracking info so you know when to expect it too. The only thing I didn't like is that they have a minimum order. I usually do very small orders the first time around just as a test but had to spend $25. This was a great experience overall and I will order again without question.

Swancreek Candles were the first soy candles I had tried. I received one as a gift from a baby shower and set it aside for several months. I've mentioned in another post, I'm one who didn't know much beyond Yankee candles. However, after spending some time reading about other choices I thought I would give the votive size candle a try in my powder room. Wow! I could not believe how good it smell (it was Lemon Grass) it burned to the edges of the votive holder and not only scented my powder room but the scent drifted out into my family room as well. I was totally impressed. I'm fortunate enough to have a Swan Creek outlet store nearby so I purchased some of their crumblie melts (wax melts.) They were very good as well. I tried the Lemon Icebox Cookie, Apples and Things and Buttercream Vanilla. I still enjoy Yankee scents in their tarts and votive size candles but I was so impressed with the way the Swan Creek candles burned. They might be my new favorite!

I have purchased the Swan Creek candles for many years. I have ordered from their website several times, and have bought them in my area. I think if you order online, it is a min. purchase of 25.00. But to offset the shipping charges, they always send you a nice free candle. And from what i remember, the shipping is not bad. I prefer the baking and spicy scents. I LOVE the Hazelnut. They have the BEST havelnut that you can buy. I also love the snickerdoodle & gingerbread. I burn their votives, pillars and their jar candles. If you haven't tried the Swancreek candles, you definately need to, they are fantastic :)

One of the things I really like about this company is that you get free shipping over $50 and a free gift. Sometimes the gift is a small candle, other times a votive. I get really happy when its a candle. Some companies don't give any free gifts, others a single wax tart, but an actual candle and free shipping?! Cool.... There is an outlet in my state but I'd have to drive 2 hrs to get to it so I pay a little more online for the same candles that are avail there, but if I was closer....I'd load up! They have some very interesting scents a couple of them that I'm hooked on and the scent throw is awesome both in the large jar and my 8 oz free gift candle that I got. I really like the look of their homespun jars which are unique and much prettier than their kitchen pantry line. The only negatives for me would be that they do seem to burn a little too quickly...especially for a soy candle, which I was under the impression usually burns for longer than paraffin. The other negative is that these candles are a little pricey and not too many discounts other than their end of season sale twice a year where the stock will be marked down a little but not as low as what they sell them for in the outlets. But, I think I will still buy at least my favorite scents from them when they are on the end of season list. Wax melts are so so....I've only ordered a couple of scents so far as they are a little pricey. What I found interesting though is that they slide right out of the burners on their own when cold, no fuss at all which is different.

I read the reviews and made a disappointing purchase!! I bought 2 large jars of Lemon Ice Box cookies 24 oz and 26 oz and the scent throw is not there and that is on 2 large candles-so I should smell it!!! I gave one 26oz Bourbon Caramel Gingersnap away as a gift. I also bought some crumblies in Hazelnut, this is not a favorite of mine, but as it was their signature scent, I purchased it. I have not melted them, but they smell nice in my melter. All in all a waste of my money I am sorry to say. I will stick with Loganberry.
