Candles of Eden

Candles of Eden makes strong and authentic smelling soy candles. They are a BIG favorite of Carolyn, the Editor-In-Chief of CandleFind. For a list of Carolyn's Candles of Eden reviews, click the following link: http://www.candlefind.com/candles-of-eden.html

I ordered candles from this company at the time they had their summer closing after reading a good review on here. I'm glad at that point I only saw the good reviews or I probably wouldn't have ordered and I would have missed out on a wonderful candle company. My experience was totally different from most on here. I received my order last Thursday which was excellent since they reopened on the 1st. I purchased 4 candles and the meditation CD. I purchased 3 of the 16 oz frosted soy candles. I got citrus gardens, lime cilantro, and lemon blossom. They were all awesome and true! My favorite one so far is the citrus gardens and I've burned it so much it is almost gone. I will be ordering more soon. It burned cleanly and evenly with no wax left on the sides. All three of those frangrances were super strong and scented each of the 3 rooms I put them in. I had the citrus one in my office right on my desk, yummy! I had the lemon one in my bedroom and could smell it without it even being lit. I could smell it every morning when I wake up. The lime cilantro is in the kitchen and it is truly to die for! This one gave the citrus one a run for its money. I can't say enough about how much I love these candles! The fourth candle I purchased was their essential oil candle in organic lavender. This candle is truly sublime and I have incorporated it into my meditation practice. It is a truly holistic experience. The meditation CD blew me away with its professionalism. You can tell they had a professional do this. The quality of the graphics are amazing. The sound quality and the narration rival those meditation CD's you purchase from the stores. I will definitely use this CD 3 times per week with my meditation practice and would recommend it to others who would like to learn to meditate with candles. I would strongly suggest that anyone who had a problem with this company before give them another try. I got an email from them when they reopened saying that they worked hard to improve on those issues that you all mentioned before. I didn't experience it myself, but I definitely experienced what the good reviews said and as long as they keep up with the standard I experienced they will definitely be my favorite candle company. I ordered from Candles of Eden on September 23rd and received my candles very quickly. I was updated every step of the way and received a tracking number when my order shipped out. I also recommended this site to two of my friends who also received their orders very quickly. I ordered their new double wicked 16 oz Honey pot candles as well as their single wicked 16 oz Frosted Container candles. I absolutely love the scent throw on these candles! I love the double wicked because of the beauty of the two flames, but I also love the single wicked because it burns slowly and my candle lasts a long time. The fragrances I tried were: candy corn, pumpkin spice, creme brule, sweet potato pecan pie, and snow crystals. They all smelled wonderful and authentic. The candy corn smelled dead on and I could smell all the ingredients in the pumpkin spice. I also loved the snow crystals which is a blend of chocolate and mint. The creme brule and sweet potato pecan pie were delicious. I highly recommend this company and these candles and I suggest you try them for yourself and give your own opinions. Karen

I love this company! The scents are amazing, and the site is super easy to navigate. I am in love with my new favorite candle, Chai Mocha---hello mamma! I was given this candle as a gift, and had to go back and order more candles! I will report back when I receive them!

I won a candle from this site during it's Summer closing last year. As soon as they reopened they shipped it to me. I got cucumber melon and theirs is true and amazing. Great throw and a clean, complete burn. These jars are so pretty. The one I got is frosted and has a pretty gold label on it. They are very upscale looking. I just made my first order as a paying customer and can't wait to get it!

Ordering from this company was an all around good experience. Here is what I ordered... COCONUT COVE – Just a real nice normal coconut smell CAPPUCCINO HAZELNUT – Just like the name. Real yummy smelling MULBERRY STARDUST – I’ve got the mulberry part figured out. I’m not sure what the stardust element is. But it smells good and fruity and that’s all I care about. NUTTY BANANA NUT BREAD – I have bought some nasty BNB candles in my time. This one is good though. I will never find a candle that smells just like a real loaf of BNB but whatta ya gonna do? CRÈME BRULE CAFÉ – Just like the name. It’s like a flavored coffee smell. Love it. JUICY POMEGRANATE – Um...love it? This candle company is very simple and straight forward. And that’s what I like about it. Whatever scent you order, is the scent you get and that’s all there is to it. No weird smells. I will purchase from here again. For sure.

I received my Candles of Eden order today. I took advantage of their hex jar sale after hearing good things about this company. I am very pleased with the scents that I received. The only one that I did not care for was Candy Corn. It was a bit too much for my nose. They have an interesting scent selection with some traditional scents and some unique ones. The candles look like high quality candles and for the most part smell strong. Here's what I bought: BUTTERCREAM CRUNCH: This one smells like buttercream with a slight hint of alcohol. CANDY CORN: Way too much for my nose. I didn't like it at all. CAPPUCCINO HAZELNUT: A decadent coffee scent. I think that this is my favorite coffee scent ever. It's strong! CARAMEL DELIGHT: A good caramel. CHAI MOCHA: This smells just like a real chai drink. Outstanding. CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES: The best chocolate chip cookie candle after Yankee's version. It smells very real and very delicious. CREAMY COCONUT: It smells like real coconut. It's not super strong, but coconut isn't a strong scent to begin with. CREME BRULEE CAFE: This is a nice creme brulee scent. FRANKINCENSE & MYRRH: Smells just like it should. FRESH GINGER PEACH: A warm and gingery smelling peach. GOURMET SUGAR COOKIE: Fantastic and delicious! HOT CINNAMON BUN: This one is ok. It's not my favorite version, but it's my second favorite version. This one has more cinnamon and less frosting. I prefer more frosting. ICED CARROT CAKE: A wonderful carrot cake scent. It is s bit spicey just like a real carrot cake. MEDITERRANEAN FIG: A nice green fruity scent. NUTTY BANANA BREAD: An ok banana bread. ORANGE CLOVE: Perfect! PUMPKIN SPICE: A very spicey pumpkin. RAISIN BREAD WITH BUTTERCREAM: A sweet scent. SNOW CRYSTALS: I like it. It's very minty. I don't smell too much chocolate. STRAWBERRIES & CREAM: A good version. Could be a little bit stronger. SULTRY SEDUCATION: I didn't care for this one. It's a nice scent, but too perfumey for me to burn. I'd prefer to wear it than burn it. SWEET POTATO PIE: The best sweet potato pie that I've ever smelled. VANILLA INCANTATION: A fantastic vanilla. WINTER DREAMS: Wonderful! It smells just like YC's Mistletoe. Perfect for Christmas.

Just received my Vanilla Incantation order today. Bought 6 of the same scent based on reviews. One was for me and the other were for gifts. Now I think I might have to keep another. The presentation is very nice. The candle is burning clean with no tunneling. The scent is awesome, though a bit different from the cold throw, I prefer the burning smell. The customer service from this company is terrific and so personal. All in all it was well worth the wait to order from the company. Try the Vanilla Incantation, its their best seller and I can see why.

I recently tried out some Candles of Eden candles. They were packaged really well. I received frequent email updates on the status of my order and it arrived on the date promised. I tried out three scents. Citrus Grove was very nice, filling the room with a nice blend of citrus scents. Lemon Blossom was also nice, a strong lemon with some earthy undertones. I recommend both. On the downside was "Fallen Leaves." First of all, there was not the slightest hint of an autumn / leaf or woody scent. I love autumn scents and take frequent walks in the woods to smell the leaves. I have a couple of candles from other suppliers that do good justice to the real thing. This scent is more of a man's musky cologne, with a thick musky, sweet characteristic. I have no idea why it would be named after leaves. I bought a sleeve of 6 votives and don't know what to do with the remaining 5. I've given an overall rating of 8. I'd give Citrus Grove and Lemon Blossom solid 9 or 9.5 scores. But Fallen Leaves is a 2, I suppose someone might like it if they like musk. I recommend not buying this scent without being able to sniff it first. I suspect I will try the company again as they were good on 2 out of 3, with strong scents and nice burns.

I ordered from candles of eden a long time ago and enjoyed thier rasberry scent. For this order i got winter dreams which to me was very strong BUT too fake chemically smelling like pine and other trees. I wasnt impressed with this one. I ordered a small gingerbread candle which had an okay smell and was pretty strong for a small candle. This company is hit or miss with thier smells. I defintaley can recommend thier vanilla and thier rasberry. The winter scent is way too fake. Because i havent tried that many scents i rate it an 8 . Candles are pretty pricey so i probably wont reorder a large order.

Review edited on 12/11/05... I decided to give this company another chance...mainly because there is one candle scent (Serenity) I can't get out of my mind, and wanted to order it again. I ordered my favorite scent Serenity, and my next favorite, Sultry Seduction in their largest jar size. (I believe it is 28oz.) I placed my order on 11-21, and received it on 12-9. 18 days total from time of order to delivery. During the waiting time, they sent me emails informing me of my order's status...from in production to preparing to ship, to shipped. The candles came well packaged, and have the great scent throw I had hoped for. The ship time was a bit long, however. IF you don't mind waiting awhile for your candles, I would recommend trying them again. I will probably order from them again, once my Serenity candle has been burned completely.

I've just received my first order from Candles of Eden and I'm not sure what to think. I ordered the vanilla incantation (smelled great), cinnamon bun (smelled very nice), snow crystals (artificial smell), day dreams (lavender mint - gave me a horrible headache), sultry seduction (smelled OK- just not me), and ginger peach (horrible!). I only ordered the 5oz size to try out the scents and they all had a great throw. Maybe I just ordered some of the wrong scents. I would order the vanilla again, it was one the of better vanilla's that I have burned.

I first tried Candles of Eden based on Carolyn's review of Fresh Picked Strawberries. I ordered the same scent in the 10 oz. jar and couldn't wait to try it. There was a mix up in the shipping (I was given a 5.00 gift certificate for this) which caused a delay but once I got the candle it smelled heavenly. The cold scent reminded me of strawberry bubblegum. Once I lit it the scent changed. It was a more realistic strawberry, but not quite "freshly picked". I normally don't buy berry scents, but I really liked this one and burned it up quickly. I got compliments on the scent whenever I had visitors. The throw was very good. I have a 2000 sq. victorian (large rooms but very chopped up layout)home and I was able to smell it all but the upstairs back bedroom. The candle is double wicked, melted all the way to the edges and burned cleanly to the bottom. The wicks mushroomed a little, but not too much. I placed a 2nd order for the Pumpkin Cheesecake, Snow Crystals, and Winter Dreams, all in the 10 oz size. I placed the order on October 26th and they arrived yesterday, December 1st. This time, I was given a 10.00 gift certificate for the delay. All three are burning evenly so far. I am still seeing the mushrooming on the wicks but I just trim them before I light them. The Pumpkin Cheesecake smells heavenly. It reminds me less of cheesecake and more of a pumpkin pie, but it is still a wonderful scent. I can smell pumpkin and spices and the graham crust, just not the cream cheese. The throw on this is strong, again, all through the downstairs and in all but the farthest room upstairs. The Winter Dreams smells very pine/evergreen-ish. I love this scent for Christmastime. The throw on this one has been moderate. I can only smell it in the room I have it in and the kitchen right next to it. It seems to get a little stronger as it burns, but not what I would call strong throw. The Snow Crystals has an odd scent cold, but I really like it once it has been burning for about 30 minutes. The peppermint is very crisp and there is just a tiny hint of chocolate that I really like. The throw on this one is very light. I can only smell it in the room it is burning in. This is probably good for me though, because strong mint smells tend to give me a headache. Overall the scents are great the candles are pretty and burn cleanly, and the prices are reasonable. HOWEVER, the shipping is very, very slow. If you want instant gratification, this is not the company for you. The stated delivery time is 2 to 3 weeks or 10-15 business days. My experience has been longer. If however, you don't mind the wait, the quality and scents are very nice.

I wish I could review this company but I still have yet to recieve my order. I understand that they are about to close for the summer and are very busy but 2 whole weeks went by and I did not even get an update or anything. I finally got an email saying my candle was done and was preparing to ship...It's been about a week and I have not gotten my candle or any kind of tracking information. I'm very dissapointed. Even during the busy season, I did not expect to wait almost a month for my order. I will not be ordering again when there are so many companies with candles I love that I get less than a week after I order. I will post a scent review if I ever get the candle. I ordered a large jar in freshly picked strawberries. **Update** I just called them and they said my order was due to go out tomorrow. They said they are sending me a $10 gift certificate for the long wait which I thought was good. If the candles are good, I would consider ordering again but not during June. **Update** Well, I finally got my candle, large jar in freshly picked strawberries. It has no throw at all...I can't even smell that a candle is burning. It's almost like they forgot to scent it! It has no cold throw either. After I waste my credit, I won't be ordering from them again. **Update** I emailed them to tell them how disappointed I was in their service, I thought they would want to know. *** They did email me back and stated they will send out a replacement candle. I hope it smells better. ********* I got the replacement candle today, it went out pretty quickly. This one smells great! I really think there was something wrong with the first one because this one smells so much different. I upgraded my rating to a 6. The only reason it isn't higher is because I can't get past how long it took for the first order to get here. Hopefully when I use my credit, all will go better and I can raise the rating more.

I really had a hard time rating Candles of Eden. This is the first time I've had to give what I feel is a poor review, but I will tell you the situation I experienced and you can order at your own risk. I've ordered twice from Candles of Eden. I placed my second order before I received my first order, but I assumed I would receive both my orders in a timely fashion. I placed my first order on Aug. 23. I believe it took two days to process my payment information, and then I was sent an email saying that it would be between 7-10 days for delivery. So far so good, no problem there. I was sent an email with a tracking number on Thursday Aug. 25. I didn't receive this order until September 14. Here is why: I received an email from Candles of Eden saying my order had been shipped, and another email from FedEx with a tracking #. An estimated date of delivery was included in my email from FedEx. The delivery date came and went. I waited a week and still nothing. I emaled FedEx, inquiring when my package would leave Florida as it said it still hadn't left the state. If the delay was due to Hurricane Katrina, I would have completely understood. Meanwhile, I had ordered a second time and received free shipping with my order due to the amount I spent. Because of the FedEx delay, I had emailed Candles of Eden asking if I could change my free shipping and pay for my second order to be shipped USPS. I received my second order, but now I feel a little cheated that I felt I had to pay for shipping just to receive my order on time. But it turns out my first order wasn't delayed by Hurricane Katrina after all. FedEx emailed me back to say that while a label was generated, it had not been tendered to FedEx for delivery. I immediately emailed Candles of Eden. I had already paid for products that were way past due for delivery and I was getting a bit upset. Candles of Eden emailed me back to say that FedEx was incorrect and had lost my package. Due to other reviews of this company on Candlefind, I am skeptical as to whether this is the truth or not. Apparently every shipping option in the state of Florida has had a problem with Candles of Eden products "disappearing." I also emailed Candles of Eden twice, using their Virtual Candle Party and Customer Service email addresses, to ask whether they still had their candle consultant program. The website advertises the program as still existing, but the two emails I sent were never given a reply. To me, that is poor customer service. I ordered several scents in tealight form from my second order. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THE TEALIGHTS AT ALL! Although the containers smell wonderful when you open them, I burned 5 tealights at a time in several different fragrances and there was absolutely no scent throw. I thought one scent may not have been that strong, so I tried Cinnamon Bun, Buttery Gingerbread, and Snow Crystals (mint and vanilla) thinking these would be stronger scents to burn. You can't smell these or any of the other scents I will list later without sticking your nose right in the candle flame. I see no point in buying scented tealights if you can't smell them when five are burning in the same candle holder. These soy tealights also don't last as long as other companies I've tried. I also purchased two jar candles: 10 oz. Citrus Gardens and 8 oz. Creamy Coconut. The jar candles are highly fragranced, have a authentic scent, and burned evenly, but I was disappointed that the 10 oz. jar was not double wicked. It takes a VERY LONG TIME for these soy candles to burn to the edges without a double wick. By the time it does burn to the edges, the wick is smoking. If you do buy anything from Candles of Eden, I'd say their jar candles would be your best buy. But there are other soy candle companies on the internet that sell much more fragrant tealights. Although I was pleased with the fragrance of the jar candles I purchased, again, there are other soy candles companies on the internet that sell jar candles that are just as strong. Many come in the same fragrances Candles of Eden offers. I won't be taking a lot of chances, if ever again, with Candles of Eden. If I ever do purchase from them again, it will only be to purchase a wickless candle. However, one other site I've found that sells wickless soy candles is Old Fashioned Candle Company. I haven't tried them yet, but I will before I buy from Candles of Eden again. The scents I've tried that I would recommend in jar form are: Hot Cinnamon Bun Buttery Gingerbread Lemon Blossom Jasmine Breeze Lavender Mist Eden Chai Mocha I wouldn't recommend: Fallen Leaves (smells more like moldy leaves. Two people I had smell it made a face). Snow Crystals: It is supposed to smell like vanilla and mint, but it isn't pleasant and smells chemically. Fresh Ginger Peach: Kind of stinky. I think there are better peach scents out there. Although I feel strange giving what I feel is a poor candle review, I would not recommend Candles of Eden and feel that you could find better soy candles and tealights. There are sights all over the internet. I'd look elsewhere:-(

I recently purchased some candles and soy berries based on the reviews. I purchased a large jar of Snow Crystals and have really enjoyed this. The jar is frosted and the color of the wax is a pretty sky blue-Carolyn recommended this one. This jar fragranced my whole large bedroom and bathroom with a refreshing mint/chocolate scent. The Snow Crystals scent even carried down the stairs from my bedroom. Great throw! I purchased smaller jars of Lemongrass, Orange Clove, and Tibetan Black Tea. The scent throw is not very strong on these. I will stick with the large jars. I have not tried the soy berries yet-I purchased the Hibiscus & Thai Palm. The soy berries are cute and look like berries. I will update when I use these. I am impressed with the large jar, not so much with the smaller jars, I do prefer very strong fragrances. I would recommend you give them a try. I received an e-mail from the customer care dept, she sent me all the strong fragranced scents she prefers and offered to send me a list of my preferences to try. Very nice customer service!!! **UPDATE**10FEB06 Have burned a few more scents. Tried the soy berries and was not impressed at all. The cold scent was nice, while in my melter there was no throw-kind of surprised. I bought a few 26oz candles on suggestion of one of the employees, I have liked these mostly, still not very impressed with the scent throw. Even tried the Vanilla Incantation and like the Loganberry Vanilla Voodoo candle better-it is smaller! I was really disappointed with Buttercream crunch, no scent throw at all. I'm not sure what I think of this company now. I have enjoyed the Snow Crystals large jar, all the small jars had poor scent throw-be careful what scents you choose. ***************21May06 Had to update, I spent quite a bit of money on these candles and really have only liked the Snow Crystals. Tiger Lily and Melon has absolutely no scent throw. Serenity has very light throw. I don't think I will order again from here.

After finally receiving my order, I really was not impressed. It took a really long time, they said it was their busy season, but I ordered also back in January, and it took a very long time again. I thought it was because the beginning of the year, but now I see that is the way it is. It took me 4 weeks, to get, 2 packs of melts, and one sm. candle. Thats crazy, I understand they make them fresh, but it still should not take that long. I will stick with the others, much faster, and good quality too.

I can understand the frustration from the above poster -- because I experienced the same thing. We must have ordered about the same time. After Candlefinds review on their Strawberry candle -- I decide to give them a try -- here is what I ordered. ~~ 28 oz. PAPAYA NECTAR -- sweet/sour fruity -- nice (HOT -- this scent is very simular to P.I.'s version -- although the throw isn't as strong -- still a nice aroma.) 28 oz. Fruit Slices -- sweet/sour fruity -- nice ~~ 28 oz. FRESH PICKED STRAWBERRIES -- don't know about this one -- I don't smell and berries (HOT -- definate a strawberry scent, it filled my kitchen and beyond -- but not really REAL strawberry -- just not a candy type of strawberry) ~~ 18 oz. TUSCAN HERB -- perfumey -- hoping it's more herby burning (HOT -- a definate grassy scent mingled with other aromas -- strong throw) ~~ 18 oz. HERBAL PASTURES -- strong Vicks almost scent -- hoping it improves when burnt. (HOT -- still looking for the pasture part, maybe it should be Herbal Forest -- it has a strong almost eucalyptus / pine scent. The throw is pretty good -- although I am not sure if I like it yet). It took all but 4 weeks to get my order. They sent me an apology email and offered a $10 dollar credit for the delay. My candles came Fedex from Flordia. I never experienced "sweating" like this before with soy candles. They were wrapped in bubble wrap (individually) and the "sweat" had ozzed from the lid seals, outside the jars and onto the bubblewrap -- what a mess. There was gooey stuff on the top of the three 28 oz. candles also. I called Candles of Eden (since I knew they were closing soon for the summer) and told them about this. She told me that is why they stop shipping during the summer and that it is the fragrance coming to the top and just to wipe it off. She said that the jars tops were cleaned off prior to shipping. Which makes me wonder where the candles that were to be shipped on 6/16 sat for 10 days -- and maybe the above posters scents were wiped off prior to being shipped... Anyway -- I proceed to wipe off the "sweat" and when I took the lid off the Papaya Nectar -- the mouth of the jar broke and cracked down the side. It must have been a defective jar, because -- I proceed to gently break the rest of the jar to remove the candle -- and the glass was very thin on one side and the top, but thicker on the otherside and the bottom. I am just glad it broke now and not when the candle was hot and liquified -- that could have been a real mess! I am going to find some sort of container to put it into so salavage what is left. My impression so far -- is that this company has been a lot of effort, but it could just be the time of year. Hopefully after their summer shutdown -- some improvements in shipping and delivery times will be made. As for burning these candles -- the ones that I have lite so far, burned well & the wicks are nice , the scent throw is moderate to heavy. The sweating issues have disappeared. I would make another purchase from them in the future to try other products and scents -- with the knowledge -- don't be anxious for the deliveryman. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ANOTHER PURCHASE -- UPDATE I used my credits from the delay on my first order and order two more candles during this companys summer shut down -- two 18 oz size jars. Once they re-opened, I recieved my order withing three weeks or so - SWEET POTATO PECAN PIE PUMPKIN SPICE The candles I received were all but scentless. I contacted Candles of Eden and explained my disappointment (my first batch was well scented and then to recieve these that were next to nothing...) After a few emails back and forth and finally a call to the company - they are "remaking" my two candles. About a month had passed and I hadn't recieved any update on these replacements or the replacements -- so I called again and was told that the items had been sent "to cue" and are in the process. That has been over two weeks ago, and still no candles or correspondance. I am still waiting for something... After this recent experience, I honestly doubt I will order again -- this company is way too much work to deal with and way too slow. I have found many companies (thank you candlefind) that are fast and send samples of other products -- this company is so slow and the products seem to vary so much from order too order -- too much of a gamble in my opinion! Julianne ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 10/17/06 -- Finally I recieved my replacement candles -- 2 months later! They sent me another SWEET POTATO PECAN PIE and PUMPKIN CHEESECAKE -- the first candle really isn't any better (cold sniff) than the first one -- weak -- and the second candle smells stronger with a vanilla--y scent (cold sniff). I still feel that this company take way too long to process to make it worth buying from them. I don't mind waiting a week -- maybe stretch it out to two weeks -- but 2 MONTHS!! In my opinion -- Go somewhere else to spend your money!!!

I hate to say that I did not enjoy these candles at all. I purchased several different kinds and didn't enjoy one. They all had this certain smell to them even though they were totally different smells. It was almost a bad cream smell. I did order the highest level of scent but I wasn't impressed, they didn't seem to smell the room up like I wanted. I was shocked at how much they sooted and even complained, they did offer to replace them but they all had the same problem. I even had soot from the samples. The only thing I somewhat enjoyed was the soy berries. I gave them to my friends to try and they were not impressed either. We order candles every month and use this site a lot to pick the next company. I would not use these again. Sorry!!

i know a lot of people rave about this company, but I have not had good luck. I have burned all of my candles now from a large order, and none had a strong throw. In fact I couldn't even tell they were burning.
