Oh Wow - Where do I start about Tyler Candles?? I discovered Tyler candles about a year ago, and I have been totally in love with them ever since! I have tried almost every fragrance in the Tyler line now, and I have found only a couple that I only "like"...Most of them, I LOVE!! Many of Tyler's fragrances are like perfume - very hard to describe, but they smell soooo wonderful! Not your typical candle fragrance line at all, they are for the most part a complex blend of wonderful smells. My old standby favorite is "High Maintenance" - I have bought this fragrance several times and still love it! A couple of the newer fragrances that I have discovered and love are "Control" and "24/7 Glam"...If you are looking for something different or a wonderful gift for a special person, give Tyler Candles a try! You won't be sorry! My favorite source is Old Prague Market, located in Pflugerville, Texas. They have the most wonderful customer service, and I recommend their site highly! I ordered my candles at http://www.suepatrick.com/gifts/tyler.html ). If you order over $25.00, shipping is free. Their large 22oz candles are a great deal at $16.00 each. This site is the least expensive place to buy these candles on the web or even in any local stores. I think what it comes down to with this company is that it is a big hit or big miss. Mediterranean Fig is to die for while Sugar Baby, you can barley smell. The small 3 oz bakery candles can get a burned wax smell. The parfume scents and larger candles(in any scent) do not have that burned wax smell. The scents I think are worth a try are... MEDITERRANEAN FIG – (Med/Hight Scent Throw)This is the best smelling Fig candle I have ever tried. Better than BBW "Brown Sugar Fig", which I love too. It does not smell masculine or feminine but it does smell elegant. It's the fig fruit scent with a subtle and sophisticated floral to the back. Soo unique! BEACH BLOND – (HUGE Scent Throw)This is not your typical “ocean/beach” scent. It’s not even close or similar. I’m not sure how to describe it even. Someone said it smells like putting tanning lotion on your skin after you have been baking out in the sun, at the beach, for a few hours. LOL. All I know is that I love it. If you have the winter blues pick this one up. You will not find another candle out there that smells even similar to this one. CINNABONS – (Medium Scent Throw)One of the BEST bakery scents/duplications I have come across. I actually had real cinnabons in my house to compare this candle to. And the candle smelled better. It’s so realistic it’s freaky. DRAMA – A wonderful quality perfume smell that I happen to not like. Someone else could love it. It’s just a personal perfume preference. HIGH MAINTENANCE – Again, a wonderful quality perfume smell that I happen to not like. It reminds me of my elderly Italian aunt. She gets ready every day like she is going out on a hot date. You know that type of woman I mean? Smelling/looking perfect at all times. PRINCESS – The description is white flower. Apparently I don’t like white flowers. The quality is wonderful but I guess I’m just picky when it comes to the perfumes/florals I like. TERRAZO – (Good Scent Throw)This is another one that I can’t figure out but I love it. It’s just a tad on the masculine side but not overly done at all. The description contains words like Italian citrus, bergamot, mandarin, iris, musk, grapefruit and tomato leaves. Unusual I know. I can’t pick out any of those scents in this candle but I like it. Another candle you won't find a duplicate of. 24K – Described as red current. I don’t know what Red Current is sapposed to smell like but I like this one a lot. This is another, not overly sweet and sophisticated scent. TWENTY FOUR SEVEN GLAM – I picture a young trendy female wearing this scent. The descriptive words are vetiver, vanilla, heliotrope, violet, jasmine, mandarin, peaches and green ivy. OK, whatever, I can’t pick out any of those scents in this candle. It's a floral first and a fruit second. Not the kind of floral that chokes you. On the opposite spectrum is… SNICKER DOODLE – Can barley smell this candle. Slight burned wax scent in the 3.4oz. SUGAR BABY – Can barley smell this candle. MULLED CIDER – This one is not bad it’s just that it’s not special like their other candles. WARM SUGAR COOKIE – Can barley smell this one. Slight burned wax scent in the 3.4oz. Normally I am a baked goods candle lover except when it comes to this line. Their bakery type scents are mediocre at best(except CINOMON BUNS). I seem to gravitate towards their more unusual scents. I guess I would give them a 10 for the more unique candles and 4 for the bakery scents. The 22oz candles have three wicks and you have a totaly melted pool of wax very soon after lighting them. Last but not least...I love their packaging. It just goes to show how different everyone's taste is.

Perfect Burn. Super Strong. Unique Scents. Reasonable Price. Can't go wrong with this company. All time favorite is "Vintage".

A friend recommended these candles to me and gave me a couple votives to try. I was amazed as to how quickly and how strong the scent from one votive could fill up a large area. I tried Mediterannean Fig and I loved the scent--very sophisticated. The candle also seemed to last longer than other votives that I have tried. I don't mind the leopard print packaging at all. I have seen Tyler candles sold at a local Hallmark as well as some specialty boutiques. The prices on their jar candles seem a little high but if they last as long as the votives proportionately then they may be worth it. I would definitely buy more Tyler candles. UPDATE-- Just bought the 22 oz. jar in Mediterranean Fig and votives in Diva. The 22 oz. jar was triple-wicked and the scent throw is amazing. After just a few minutes of lighting the candle gives off an amazing scent. After a relatively short time I can smell this candle all throughout my house (2300 sq feet) if I leave all the inside doors open. I can not get enough of this scent...The scent description is "Sun baked Italian figs mixed with a hint of sandalwood and musk. Enticingly different and extremely memorable!" I love that it is triple-wicked so that I don't have to leave it lit forever in order to reach the sides. The Diva votives are just okay. The votive is lasting a long time and the scent throw is fine, but I just don't care for the scent as much as the Mediterranean Fig. Scent description: "A warm and complex fragrance overflowing with delicious fruits and rich florals. Rich aromatic chocolate and amber complete this luscious blend!" UPDATE: Purchased "Panache" scent (now called "Tyler"). Also a great throw. Smells like grapefruit with green undertones. Really like this one too. It's the first scent that my husband even commented on. "I like that one..." He never says a word about my candles so that's a pretty good endorsement.

I was on vacation and purchased 3 candles. The sugar cookes was awesome. The vanilla one was ok but I have yet to find a strong vanilla. I have not tried the mulled cider. I have found the some scents are stronger then others so I do not always give up on a co is one scent is not so strong.

I like the Tyler candle votives. They burn all the way down and are VERY strong. I wasn't as crazy about the jar candles. They aren't available too many places in my area, and i have ordered them online and on Ebay. I don't like the packaging at all, the boxes that the votives come in or the Lids on the jars. I would recommend them though, they smell great. I like the Sugar Cookie, Cinnamon Bun and the baking scent.

I love Beach Blonde, I burn the votive or the tart in my bathroom alot. I also love the scent Cowboy. I prefer votives and tarts to jars, haven't tried a jar yet. I have a votive called PMS which I have yet to burn, but I pick it up often and just smell it. I guess I'm saving it for a special occasion. This company doesn't seem to phase out faves too often.

I like these candles because you can get some really different scents in them. For Christmas they have one called "A Christmas Tradition" which is just wonderful. Very cinnamony and Christmasy. I melt them on my warmer. You can melt the small and medium jars only as the large jars are too big around. These melt perfectly and last for days. You save money if you buy 3 or more--usually takes a dollar off the price of each candle. I highly recommend these for people who like to melt their candles.

I ran across Tyler Candles at a Hallmark Store. I bought the large size of Limelight, and got a free Pinapple Crush votive with it. They both smelled fabulous, and both had great scent throw. I was surprised that the votive was strong enough to scent my entire downstairs! What I liked about the large candle, was that it was triple-wicked. Almost immediately, the melt pool covered the entire jar! I didn't even need a candle capper! I would recommend Tyler Candles, but I wish that they were in more stores, so that I could smell the scents before I buy them. The Hallmark I went to didn't have all the scents that I see online, plus it wasn't very close or convenient to where I live!

I recently bought three of the smallest sized jar candles in Paris, Panache and Pristine. For little jars, they sure fill a large room with fragrance and they do so quickly. That was the first thing that really impressed me. Paris and Panache are great- in fact Panache always makes me a little hungry because there is something fruity in it that screams yummy dessert without smelling gross and bakery scented. Paris is nice too- but a little more spicey. Pristine is my favorite though because of it's white color and fresh fragrance. It smells a little like perfume but I got over that negative aspect pretty quickly. The only pitfall of my candles is that since they are so small, I can't burn them for long periods of time...usually about an hour or two. I know people on here have complained about the packaging but I didn't even notice the cheetah type print on the lid. Probably because I threw the lids out first thing without a second thought. The jars themselves are a cute shape and their shape doesn't hinder their burn quality. (The wicks do mushroom more than most- but they don't smoke...go figure.) All in all- not a bad experience. Updated to say, I bought a larger size of these candles and I love the scents. I always get compliments on how nice our house smells when I have Panache lit. It seems to be a universal favorite amongst my vistors.

I recently got Tyler melts for the first time. I am in love with Beach Blonde. My favorite place in the world is the beach. This smells like the end of a day at the beach. I can almost feel the sand in my hair, the sting of a sunburn you just realized you had, the contented fatigue of spending a day in the sun and surf. Wow, this will now be a must have for me. It's sort of a suntan oil fragrance...but there's something else too. If you like the beach, you will probably love this one. The throw on my melts is good. I used two squares in my burner. I did order other scents, but haven't gotten to them yet!

I tried Mulled cider from Tyler candles, it gave a wonderful throw in my home if you like that spicy clove smell ( I do!) The next candle i tried from them was Wisteria... That was VERY disappointing, it didnt throw at all, I thought it might just be me ... you know because im around the candle all the time but i had family come over and they said they didnt smell anything either. So i have blown out the wick and now have put it up as an emergency, if the lights go out candle. Im now burning warm sugar cookies, it has a nice throw so far. With this company its a hit and miss and of course what you all prefer.

My overall impression of Tyler Candels almost identically echoes another reviewers opinion. I would give the bakery scents a 4, and the non-bakery scents a 9 or 10. The bakery scents (that I have tried) don't have much of a scent throw. I can barely smell the Cinnabuns either cold or burning. Warm Sugar Cookie is a little better, but still rather light. With that caveat, I do recommend all of the other Tyler Candles that I have tried. Beach Blonde is my favorite. It is indeed a bit overpowering, as the description states. It takes you back to the beach after being there all day during the hot summer months. I will certainly order this candle again. My other favorites include Vignette (which I received as a sample votive) and Mediterranean Fig. I would describe both as having a medium scent throw, and they are both smooth, elegant and sophisticated without smelling too much like perfume. The description of Vignette includes the word velvety, and I would completely agree that if velvet was a scent, this would be it! Beyond that, it is hard to put into words because of the complexity of the fragrances (I am starting to appreciate how difficult it is to put scents into words). Limelight is another that I recently tried, and it grew on me. I like the cold scent, but the warm throw reminded me of Citronella at first. For whatever reason, I am now able to enjoy Limelight, even though it is a bit on the chemical smelling side. All in all, if you like a stronger scented candle, Tyler Candle Company is a good way to go!

I am gong to agree with the average rating on here of 7.3 for Tyler Candles. I bought several votives and 2 small jars of their premier scent "High Maintenance" from the Sue Patrick Online Store, which gave free delivery on orders over $25. My order came to $25.60 and the prices were reasonable. Their service was prompt and packing was very well done with every votive individually packaged. The first 2 votives I burned were called "Ira Jean" and they were lovely. The rest smelled nicely up close but did not have a good throw: these were High Maintenance, Mediterranean Fig, Hollywood and Mulled Cider, which had no throw at all. I would order the Ira Jean again but none of the rest. Tyler Candles features a "mushroom" wick which, when lit mushrooms out slightly, and is supposed to allow a greater release of the scented oils in the wax. This happened perfectly with the "Ira Jean" and while the others "mushroomed, as I say --- there was not a good scent throw.

Ive tried tyler candles becuase i heard they were supposed to be very strong. Its hit or miss with these is all i can say . I ordered sugared cookie and vanilla which carried a very very light smell when lit. I also tried a lime scent which was very strong. scents are average and a little sythetic.

I bought this candle at a Goodwill store, in the Christmas scent 'Holiday'. It is a strong mix of cranberry and orange, and a deep rich red color. The jar is not much, and the red and white lid is a lot like a jelly jar - doesn't do much for me. I also don't like the smell after it has burned for a few hours - there is a definite chemical aroma to it. The Holiday scent and the double wick in the 11 oz. jar is very nice.

We caught these on sale at Hallmark and tried the small Limelight jar candle. The throw was moderate, the scent was unique and pleasant and the burn was nice and even. It's a good candle but I would not pay full price for it, so I guess I am not "blown away" by them.

Months ago I ordered Tyler candles from Sue Patrick. They did then, and are still offering free shipping on (Tyler) orders over $25. It's nice to spend a minimal amount of money trying something new without getting robbed on the shipping charges. Some of the scent descriptions are obscure. Of the 5 scents I tried my favorite "buy it again" is Goldleaves. I disliked High Society and Kathina, Lavish was ok, and I barely remember 24/7 Glam. The 11oz. candles are double wicked and they burn nice but it's not a "burn all day" candle because you will get a burnt wax smell behind the scent. Good throw hot and smells good cold too.

these candles have great, strong scents. the jars are nice and have triple wicks (a must in my opinion). they do smell somewhat "burned" after burning awhile and they do need careful and often wick trimming to prevent soot. my favorites are warm cinnamon and mediterranean fig.

I had heard folks talking about Tyler Candles so I decided to try one. Immediately, what struck me about the line was the very unappealing packaging. The pseudo "leopard print / country combo" is just plain odd. Be that as it may, I took it home. The fragrance was heavily perfumed. It had a "synthetic" edge to it as it burned. To me, it did not live to the hype. There are better candles to spend your money on.

I recently bought 3 scents after reading all of the great reviews. They all smell like old, nasty perfume. I hate that I wasted my money on them. I should have bought Yankees.
