Ok, my latest obsession is Fresh Baked Bread, I've been trying to find this scent for 3 years and Colonial has done it, one I am pleased with. I also love the holiday scents, they are sweet and put out a good amount of fragrance.

This last month I discovered a new and luscious holiday fragrance from Colonial, and tonight after I lit my candle, I thought that I really needed to post a review about my discovery. When I clicked onto Candlefind, there I discovered that Julia had beat me to the punch! Around Thanksgiving I was in a local market that has a really nice floral/gift department. There right in front was a display of new holiday scents from Colonial candles. So of course, what do we Candlefind visitors do? Sniff, sniff, sniff. Wait! Sniff, sniff, sniff again. And again...Hmmmm, THIS one is REALLY nice! I threw 2 votives of GOLD, FRANKINCENSE & MYRRH into my cart. Like Julia, I can't get enough of this gorgeous scent! I go seasonal on my candle scents, and year after year I've tried various frankincense & myrrh scents. The last one I tried seemed nice enough, that is until the scent digressed into smoke and embers; I never finished the burn and donated that jar to a local resale shop. Bummer. Then this year, along came Colonial with a scent that warmed up my cold feet, to try another remix of the traditional Christmas classic scent. It must be the "gold" note to this scent that makes it SO spectacular and amazing. It adds a festive sparkle that makes this scent opulent, just as the Colonial website description describes. Folks, that's not hype. You get it ALL with this one. The deep spiritual notes, the celebratory notes, and a festive "Let's celebrate" note that plays a sensory sonnet. Really! Yes, I LOVE this one!! Are you ready for a new Christmas and holiday scent? Try this one. One votive alone scented my medium-sized bedroom with notes that made me want to deeply inhale. Every note expertly blended and mesmerizing, stirring the heart for this wonderful season. Gotta get a jar!

I have tried many scents by Colonial at Home, but one of my favorites is "Water Lily", described by the company as "Serenity and escape are embodied in this delightful scent that combines floral and water scents to transport you to your own personal private place." I tried a votive in this scent, and just loved it! This votive burned slowly and evenly and very cleanly, and the scent throw was amazing for one little votive! "Water Lily" is a wonderfulyy clean floral scent in a long-lasting and reasonably priced candle. Very soft and feminine, yet one small votive can fragrance an entire large room. This candle is a lovely rosy pink color, perfect for springtime or anytime, and the fragrance is just wonderful! As I prepare to begin work each day, one of my first tasks is to light a candle in my home office. It is so nice to have a wonderful scent fill my office as I work. I lit my "Water Lily" candle for the first time aound noon, and by about 12:20 p.m., my office was filled with the most beatiful fragrance! Soft, feminine, cool and clean are a few good ways to describe "Water Lily" by Colonial at Home. The scent throw on this candle is really awesome also - Even without lighting my one tiny votive again, the candle fragrance was strong and very easily detected around my desk area! Overall, I would definitely recommend Colonial at Home and especially "Water Lily" if you are a fan of beautiful floral scents!

Great Pillar-Burned exceptionally well. No drips, did not tunnel in the center, very clean. The top of the candle remained flat and level, unlike other two pillars I was burning at the same time. Scent-Vanilla- Not exceptional, but had bought off Ebay so, have no idea how old it was... Definitely a good choice for bold, tall candle holders. The other two pillars dripped down my holders and ruined them.

I have a med size candle in vanilla brandy. The candle burned completely clean the whole way through leaving nothing on the glass at all. You would think it was a soy candle it burned soo cleaned. The throw of this scent was pretty good. It scented up my whole living room . Definately would repurchase but i wish they would have some more sales for these . They are pricey like yankee but way better than yankee.

wow! I bought 'mistletoe' at Linens and Things, in a 22 oz. size, for $5 and change (75% off. I think). I was hesitant because I hate pine scent, and thought 22 oz is a lot of candle if it has pine in it. It is lovely. I will try more CCCC candles based on this purchase. LOL, I did, I bought another $5 Mistletoe, becuase I like the scent and once you take the holiday label off, it just looks like another deep green candle. Update; I bought a pack of Citrus Mimosa simmer snaps, and a gift box of Fresh Picked Cotton and Plumeria small jars with Cotton scent beads - they are wonderful. Tuesday Morning had them on clearance. Update - I bought a Papaya Crush and a Holiday Sparkle on clearance at Bed Bath and Beyond. Their cold throw is pleasant and their hot throw is very good (I realize that may not be the same for every fragrance they make.) One nice thing about the larger jars is that the have a glass lid. I think that keeps the scent in as they sit on store shelves. Update - I got a Blueberry Vanilla and an Orchid Sake at the Ross. I am excited to find out if the hot throw is as good as the cold.

Since my current favorite candle brand was out and I needed a candle for my master bathroom, I picked up a Colonial At Home large 22 oz. candle on sale the other day. The scent I chose was summer linen, thinking it would be great for a bathroom. I do like the scent, it's fresh and clean without smelling "fake". I noticed on the shelf at the store many different types of scents from fresh, floral and fruity to warm, spicy and seasonal. I do like the interesting oval shape of the container and the two wicks are great, I found it quick and easy to burn across the top of the candle allowing for a clean burn from top to bottom. The scent throw is only okay, and that's for just one room. My master bath is large, though not overly so, and this large candle will scent that room after the wax pool begins but does little more than just that one room. For such a large candle I expected to be able to smell it spilling into the master bedroom and maybe even the hallway. I tried it in the kitchen, a large space with an open floorplan, and the scent throw was of course even less noticeable. So back to the bathroom it went. *updated comments* - Giving Colonial at Home one more try today, I picked up another large 22 oz. oval jar candle in Moroccan Spice. Whoa! Now this one is fantastic. I love the exotic warm scent and the dark amber color of the wax, it's such an attractive candle. The throw on this one is much better, it is burning in my kitchen and I can smell it all downstairs, even creeping up the stairs to the top floor. As with any company, some scents will be stronger than others. This Moroccan Spice is one of my current faves of the moment, I jumped my rating from a 5 to an 8!

I like Colonial At Home. In fact, their pumpkin pie is the only pumpkin pie I will burn. It's the best. I use their wax tarts which I have never seen in stores but buy online. They have a decent selection and the price is good. Scents I like are: Pumpkin Pie Vanilla Berry Citrus Mimosa Almond Cream I have just made an order and will be trying some others too.

Everytime I go to Bed, Bath & Beyond, I head straight for the candle section (as I'm sure many of you do!) to see what is on sale. Usually, there are several "Scents of the Month" and even the occassional clearance deal, so, of course, I purchase these! My favorite Colonial Candle product is Holiday Sparkle, which is supposed to be a Christmas scent but I'll take it any time, any shape- it's very strong and "bright". I also like their Sea Glass scents as well as most of their "berries". Overall, this is a good company and a real find when on sale or clearance!

I have tried the small and medium jars, votives and simmer snaps. The jars are double wicked which causes a very even and good burn with no wax left on the sides. The votives don't have much scent throw and after the initial burn tend to drown out no matter what kind of holder I've used so far. My favorites are the simmer snaps. These give off a very strong and long lasting scent throw. The simmer snaps are hard to find where I live but you can order them online easily. All in all this is a good company Update 10/08/06 I have been melting Mulberry snaps and Fresh Baked Bread this week and they are wonderful. I tried an apple orchard and it was awful but I think it was old from the look of it and I got it on clearance for 80 cents. I have burned this fragrance in jars and it is great. Anyway, I just now ordered a bunch of fragrances so will let you know what I think. So far I just love their melts. Update 12/14/06--I have tried several more of these and here are my findings. Sweet Pomegranate--WOW!! This one is great. Unfortunately I think they may be discontinuing it since it seems to be on sale everywhere. My sister found a dozen of them clearanced for 75 cents a piece so she got them for me. This scent really lasts a long time and is different and nice. Simply Vanilla--This one I had to pour out about as soon as it was completely melted. My husband thought it was a little strong but didn't mind it but it made me almost ill. It had a strong rich smell that I personally couldn't take but I think it is just personal preference. If you like a super rich vanilla scent you might like this. Cucumber Melon--very nice melon scent. Great for summer. Apricot Mango Sorbet--didn't care for this one. Too much mango I think. Autumn Fig--another nice one--very different but nice.

The simmersnap tarts are wonderful and the ginger bread votive candle cold was strong, but when I lit it,it had a very light scent.I guess the votives would do o.k in a small bathroom. The simmersnap warmer combination(24wtt?)was so so.I guess the scent of a candle would be great if the candle jar is directly on top of the electric plate. After being on for more than 5 hours,I could pick up the plate that came with it and not burn myself.ummm, does this mean it's defective?? The tea lights gave off a very very light scent so I would stick with the simmersnap tarts.

I bought a Colonial at Home, 3.5 oz., two-wicked oval candle in "Moroccan Holiday" scent and several votves in the same scent to accompany it. I scattered 4 votives and the 3.5 oz. candle in my living room and although this scent smelled good "cold" there was absolutely no throw from all the votives or the jar once they were lit. Too bad - the color of the candle is a nice, festive Christmas-y red and the scent was holiday spicey when smelled cold but nada scent once burning. Burns clean as a whistle too, with a swell wax pool and absolutely no wax on the sides of the jar. What a shame there is no throw.

Well, I am currently sick with a cold that was agravated by the large amount of smoke released by this candles. The smoke was dark, thick, and strong, my mucus has black tar stripes. They smell beautifull but a litte light, I like strong candles. I bought 2 candles: Harbor Mist: It's the perfect sea scent with a hint of spring season. Orchid sake: It's like plumeria light & sweet(main notes) with cherry and citrus back notes. I would not recommend this candle because of the terrible smoke it spreads once turned off.
