Candlefind Says

A delicious, sweet vanilla scented candle that reminded more of candy than cookies. The burn is super clean and long-lasting.

Pros

  • Even, clean burn
  • Long-lasting
  • Super affordable

Cons

  • Fragrance varied from description

I’ve had the pleasure of trying a couple of products from Sweet Tooth Scents, and I’m wrapping up my introduction to this company with their Rainbow Cookie candle. The products from this small business on Etsy have given a solid performance, with my favorite being their Dazed and Confused candle. So how would this candle compare? Inquiring minds want to know!

Packaging/Presentation

Sweet Tooth Rainbow Cookies Candle

My Rainbow Cookie candle was in a small mason jar, 8 ounces in size. It had a black screw-top lid and an identification tag around the neck. I really liked the personal touch of the tag around the neck of the candle. It allowed for easy identification with a personal touch, plus it was super easy to remove and just have the jar to look at while burning. I do know of some friends that do not want a label at all on their jars while burning, so this is like having the best of both worlds.

The real beauty of this candle, though, was how the wax was decorated. It was a light pink color and there were rainbow sprinkles all throughout the wax. A lot! I could see them both on the outside of the jar and on the inside when lifting the lid. The wick was well centered and fairly short (though it did need an initial trim). Overall I could tell a lot of care went into the presentation, so bonus points for that.

Authenticity

The cold sniff on this candle was pretty light. I could smell a tad bit of sweet vanilla, but it didn’t really smell like any cookies on cold sniff. Looking for the scent description I found:

Cookies so light and airy they’re ready to melt in your mouth – filled with citrus and peach and sweet vanilla ice cream.

Sweet Tooth Scents

Cool! I was excited to get this was melted so that I could smell all these notes! Since this was a smaller sized candle, I did decide to start it out in a small powder room. I lit the candle and left it there to do its magic. After about 30 minutes or so, I checked in to see what was going on. I could get the soft scent of that sweet vanilla again with a little bit of a syrupy smell. I wasn’t getting any sense of cookies baking.

I did let the candle continue to burn for a couple of hours so I could get a good sense of the notes. I would describe this one as a light, sweet vanilla scent that was a little bit sticky. A little more like a soft vanilla candy than a cookie. It smelled really good, but it was not what I was expecting.

Scent Strength & Scent Throw

I found this scent of this Rainbow Cookie candle to be light and airy, much like was listed in the scent description. It was a pleasing, soft vanilla scent. The scent throw itself was really good for such a small candle jar. I could tell that the candle was burning every time I stepped into the powder room. Strange place for delicious vanilla, but it worked for me!

Burn Performance

I did trim my wick before first burn to get it to the recommended 1/4″. Once lit, this candle took about an hour to get a full wax melt pool. I loved the melt pool with this candle! It was a good depth and very even. I didn’t have any wasted wax down the sides.

On the initial burn, I did use a candle topper to keep my flame in check. As the candle burned down, I was able to remove the topper and I didn’t have any problems with the flame. I just needed to keep my wick well trimmed in between burns. I didn’t have any black soot on the sides of the candle jar. It was just a very clean burn from start to finish here.

Conclusion

I enjoyed the Rainbow Cookie candle from Sweet Tooth Scents. It was a nice, sweet vanilla scent that should be appealing to most. The fragrance itself was noticeable yet soft. It would be perfect for those real estate open house days when you need a lovely fragrance in the background. Given the size of this jar, I would recommend this fragrance in smaller spaces, like the powder room where I had mine. Sweet Tooth has larger candle jars (and wax melts, too) which would work better in a larger space for this particular scent.
