I’ve finally had the chance to melt through all of my sampler from Closet Full of Wax (CFOW), including this Queen of Hearts wax melt. I have already reviewed several CFOW melts, and I have a few more left to finish off the batch. Overall it’s been a great experience. I fell in love with several scents, including this sugary treat.

Packaging/Presentation
I really appreciate the care that’s put into even the sampler boxes from CFOW. Each wax melt is 
individually packaged and labeled, to include the scent name and notes. My Queen of Hearts wax melt had a cartoon character queen (of hearts, of course!) and the scent notes clearly displayed. The melt itself was a textured, red-shaped heart in the color deep red. Beautiful!
Authenticity
The cold sniff on this wax melt was sweet…very sweet! Looking at the scent notes, I immediately knew why:

I could definitely pick out the pink sugar notes on cold sniff. Once the wax warmed, the sweetness intensified and became fairly complex. Pink sugar is a note that can predominate, but I definitely got some of the sweet, citrusy notes that I expect form Sweet on Paris. This never really smelled a lot like a bakery sweet scent to me…more floral-ly sweet with notes of sweet fruits and some warm caramel in the mix. Mmmm – divine! I didn’t want to change this one out!
Scent Strength & Scent Throw
This scent was fairly strong. It started scenting up my kitchen as soon as it started melting. I could smell it in the adjacent room, as well. The throw was fantastic! I used this wax melt in a 24W hotplate electric melter. I would certainly rate the scent strength at 4 with a 4.5 throw.
Melt Performance
This wax melt lasted several hours non-stop in my melter. I was using my hottest electric melter, so I’m sure that contributed to a shorter scent lifespan, but it still lasted a good 5 hours for me before starting to fade a little. When I changed out, I felt I could still get more mileage out of it, just not as strong.
Conclusion
The Queen of Hearts wax melt was another winner for me from CFOW. In fact, it was one of my favorites. I would buy this scent in bulk! If you’re looking for bakery sweet, this is not the best choice. This was more floral/perfumey-sweet with some bits of citrusy sweetness to make it more interesting. I don’t know how they come up with their scent mix ideas, but this one is a true winner!
