Introduction to Grape Scented Candle Review…
One of the coolest things about running Candle Find is having free candles sent to me. Every time I get a new package, it feels like Christmas morning. 🙂 My latest shipment came from a company called Pure Integrity Soy Candles. They make scented soy candles which are available online in a wide variety of scent collections including Warm Spice, Serene Outdoors, Luscious Fruits, Floral, Aromatherapy, Hot Out Of The Oven and more.
Luckily, I got to choose which scent from Pure Integrity I wanted to try. When I was checking out their scents, I noticed they make Grape scented candles. I have been to so many candle sites online that it would make your head spin, but this is the first time I’ve noticed Grape as an available scent. I was so excited! I have always been a big fan of grape flavored anything… grape juice, grape candy, grape popscicles… yummy!
I emailed Pure Integrity to make sure their grape scented candles were dark purple. I don’t know why this mattered to me, but it did. 🙂 I guess I wanted the candle to be just like the grape treats I’ve always enjoyed. When the folks at P.I.S.C. told me their grape candles were in fact dark purple, I was ready to try one.
What did my Pure Integrity Candle look like?
Pure Integrity sent me a 10 oz. jar candle in grape. They also generously sent me some of their lemongrass scented tealights and these adorable baby candle favors. (I might write a review of the tealights and favors in the future.)
My jar candle from Pure Integrity was very attractive. The jar was slightly frosted with a matte finish. There was no label on my jar, which is kind of nice because I could enjoy the color more. My jar was topped off with a wooden lid. To my surprise and delight, my candle was double-wicked. I like this because I think two flames are prettier when it’s burning compared to just one.
What did I think of the Grape scent?
I lit my Grape candle as soon as I got it. I just couldn’t wait to see if it smelled like what I was expecting. It did! I was in grape heaven. To get a good idea of the exact smell, just take a whiff of a grape jolly rancher up close. That’s exactly what it smells like. There is no “fake” odor to this scent…. just yummy, uplifting grape.
I was also really pleased with the power of this scent. Every time I lit it, the aroma completely filled the room I was burning it in. If you like grape and you like strong scented candles, I suggest you try this scent.
How did my Grape candle burn?
My candle seemed to burn pretty clean. After burning the candle for a while, the wax completely liquefied at the top all the way to the sides of the jar. I like when this happens because I think it leads to a more even burn. I think the wax melted all the way on top since the candle was double-wicked. Normally when I burn candles with a single wick, there is still some wax left on the sides of the jar as the candle burns down.
When my grape candle cooled after I burned it for the first time, I noticed the wax on top was not smooth. It was flaky and uneven. Sometimes this happens with 100% soy candles. I can’t explain why it happens with soy wax, it just does. As long as the scent of a candle is fabulous, most candle lovers don’t mind a flaky texture on the surface of their soy candles. I prefer to see my candles smooth on top, but that’s just me.
Overall Opinion of My Grape Jar Candle from Pure Integrity Soy Candles:
To sum up, I recommend this candle to anyone who loves anything grape. The scent is fabulous and strong and the fact that the candle is made from soy is an added bonus.
