What did my candle smell like?
I’ve really enjoyed Bath & Body Works Hawaiian themed candles and Pomelo Paradise was another fragrance I really liked. The candle was a soft frosted yellow with no label on it… there was an insert sitting on top of the wax showing a picture of a sunny beach with palm trees to the side.
Here is the scent description from the bottom of the candle:
The fragrance of freshly sliced pomelo grapefruit blends beautifully with notes of mango and sunny papaya.
Smelling the wax… I could hardly smell grapefruit and you definitely know grapefruit when you smell it. Grapefruit is pretty zesty and unmistakable. To me, the wax smelled like papaya and mango with very subtle hints of grapefruit, as in… super subtle… the overall scent was tropical and sweet. I liked it.
Time to find out how it performs!
I lit this candle in my master bedroom and I’d say it took around 15 minutes to really start noticing the fragrance. After a good hour, my bedroom was saturated in the scent of sweet mango and papaya. Grapefruit…. not a lick. And that was actually okay with me…. the aroma traveling through my room was really sweet and fresh and definitely a tropical fruit. No zest as grapefruit scents tend to be.
Strength – on a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this candle an 8 in a large room. 10 in a medium or small room.
My candle burned perfect. No wick issues. Clean and even burn from beginning to end.
Closing to my review:
I enjoyed this fragrance and would absolutely purchase it again. It reminded me of a yummy tropical smoothie you would drink by a resort pool. Sweet, fruity and delicious.
