Intro To My Candle Review
I am not a big fan of patchouli scented candles. It’s not my type of scent, but I do know it’s a popular one for many. I was already pleased with Warm Tobacco from FLAMME Candle Company, so I wasn’t shy about trying Pure Patchouli from their line up.
First Impressions of My Candle
The candle vessel was similar to the Warm Tobacco candle, only it was an darkish olive green
color. There was a single wick that was well-centered in the off-white wax. The label clearly displayed the company and scent names on the jar. This was definitely a candle jar that would make a good repurposing jar.
I took a quick whiff, hoping not to be overwhelmed with the scent of patchouli. I was pleasantly surprised! I smelled a little woodsiness and smokiness to this scent, but it didn’t have that typical patchouli scent I was anticipating. For me, that was a good thing! Looking at the scnet description, I found:

I was on the road, so I lit this candle in a medium sized room given my limited options. I let it burn for about 40 minutes and started noticing a warm grassy scent. There was a bit of that pungent odor I associate with patchouli, but not much. To me this smelled more like hay and cedarwood with nice bit of warmth to it.
This was a milder scent than my Warm Tobacco candle and I wasn’t getting the scent throw that I wanted from this candle. I moved it from the medium sized room to a large closet and found it did much better in that space. I’m not advocating burning candles in closets, that’s for sure! I just wanted to get a good feel for what this candle could do, and I think it would work well in a more contained space than setting it out in a more wide open space.
How Did My Candle Perform?
This candle was another slow burner. I didn’t think I was going to get a full wax melt pool, but I let this candle burn a little longer than my usual first burn and I did eventually get that full wax melt pool. The flame was more tame on this candle. For the most part it was a nice, clean burn. I noticed some wisps of black smoke when I was moving the candle from place to place, but that was to be expected.
Closing To My Candle Review
Overall I found this a pleasantly scented candle. Did it smell like pure patchouli to me? Nope. But that was good for me! It smelled more woodsy and aro
