Palm Leaf Scented Wax Melts – Febreze Review
by Christina Rylan
Brand: Febreze
Scent: Palm Leaf
Type: 22oz large candle & 2.75oz Clamshell Melts
Price: $10.00 for candle / $3.00 for melts
First Impression of Palm Leaf:
I purchased this candle and melts at my local Walmart to review and now wish I would have purchased more because this scent is really hard to find. It’s out there, you just have to hunt for it.
I couldn’t find a scent description for Palm Leaf but somewhere online I read this is a floral fragrance and after smelling the wax, I don’t think it is. To me, this scent was sweet and almost tropical. And if it’s floral, it definitely has some fruity notes in it too… like sweet mango and coconut. So far based off cold sniff, I really like it!
Time to find out how both candle and melts perform!
Candle:
I lit my candle in a small powder room to start out and ended up leaving it there till the very end. I don’t really have high expectations for a mass produced candle like Febreze but boy did this candle pack a nice punch in a small room. Within 20 minutes of lighting the wicks, the candle reached a partial melt pool and from then on out… the freshest tropical scent filled my bathroom with fragrance and it was awesome!! The aroma reminded me of mangoes, coconut, sugar and maybe lime or something citrus thrown in the mix. It was hard to tell. I just know it was very fresh and fruity, sweet and tropical. I loved it!
How did my candle burn?
This candle didn’t burn as well as I hoped. With each lighting, the candle never reached a full melt pool so there was a thick layer of wax left along hte glass wall all the way down. That was a bummer.
Melting:
I used the entire clamshell back (3 bars each) in two of my electric melters in my great room. Once melting, the same scent as the candle filled the upper level of my home except with the melts, the aroma was much stronger. A fresh tropical fruit punch with lots of sugar. LOVED!!
Strength – on a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate the candle a 6 in a small bathroom. Not super strong but good enough to fill that small space with fragrance. The melts were much better, a 7 out of 10 in a large room, 8+ in a medium to smaller rooms.
Closing to my review:
I enjoyed Palm Leaf from Febreze and would totally purchase it again should I see it. I think I’ll stick to melts though. The candle didn’t perform as well as I hoped and the melts were much stronger anyway.
Should you see this fragrance at Walmart… go smell it. You may walk away with one, especially if you love fresh tropical scents.
Happy candle hunting!
