First Impressions of Midsummer’s Night Candle
So, you all know Walmart is now carrying ten Yankee fragrances in their large jars at their super center stores right? If you didn’t, you do now and you can read up on what scents they’re now carrying in our post here.
Walmart’s marketing department sent me 3 fragrances to review. How cool is that? Pink Sands posted 2 weeks ago and now I have Midsummer’s Night – a scent that has been around awhile but one I’m only just now experiencing.
Here is the scent description for Midsummer’s Night:
An intoxicating and masculine blend of musk, patchouli, sage and mahogany cologne.
Fragrance Notes:
Top: Citrus, Herbaceous, Woody, Bergamot, Lime
Mid: Lavender, Pine Floral Sage
Base: Cedarwood, Vetiver, Juniper Berry, Clary Sage, Moss
Very cool candle too by the way with its black wax and picture of a starry night and huge full moon dominating the picture in the label.
First impression, this is definitely a masculine scent. That’s the first word out of my mouth when I smelled the wax. Reading the scent description, it reminded me of musk and mahogany cologne the most. Both were so strong, it was hard to pick out anything else in the scent description after that.

How Did My Midsummer’s Night Candle Perform?
I had a feeling this candle would be a room filler but I still decided to light it in a small bathroom to start out and guess what? It was so strong, I ended up moving it to a medium size bedroom. That’s pretty rare for a Yankee candle.
Once I moved the candle, it took about an hour to reach a full melt pool but the aroma filled the room long before that. The scent…. just as it smelled when I first popped off the lid – a strong and fresh masculine fragrance. I couldn’t really tell you what this scent smelled like and my guess is, probably everything in the scent description, my nose just couldn’t pinpoint anything specific. All I could smell was a very strong masculine cologne.
Strength
This candle was a room filler. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this candle an 8 in a medium size room. 10+ in a small and my guess a 4/5 in a really large room. I was pretty impressed with the strength of this candle.
How Did My Candle Burn?
This candle burned perfect. Zero wick issues. Clean burning from start to finish, I just had to trim the wick each day before lighting it up. This candle was very slow burning too so you really get your money’s worth out of these large candles. Midsummer’s Night lasted well over 2 weeks and that was burning it every day.
Closing To Midsummer’s Night Candle Review
Midsummer’s Night was a very fresh masculine scent and boy was it a room filler which I loved. Yankee candles are usually so lightly scented for me, I can only burn them in small bathrooms. Not this one.
Definitely check out this scent if you’re in the mood for something fresh and the best part… you can now purchase it at your local Walmart Super as well as a Yankee store near you.

Midsummer nights
I know I’m a little late to the game here but I still thought I would attest to the strength of this candle in a large room. My living room is 20×40 and I don’t even know how tall the ceilings are but very tall and this candle fills the room beautifully. This has been my absolute favorite candle for around 25/30 years. I’ve been married 24 years and I was a fan way before that. So sometime in that range. It’s never changed. The scent is still the same. It reminds me of a beautiful old (personal) library with lots of leather and big comfy chairs with a mahogany desk. Hope you like it if you try it. FYI you can get the big jar for like $15 on Amazon.
