First Impression of Maple & Rum:
Maple & Rum practically fell off the Walmart shelf and into my cart when I walked by. It was almost as if it knew I was going to like it. My eyes zeroed in on the label, I opened the lid, smelled the wax and I purchased 6 melts right on the spot. It smelled SOOOOOOO freaking good!!
Scent description for Maple & Rum:
A delectable blend of creamy butterscotch and rich maple joined with sweet vanilla bean and toffee wrapped with hints of smooth caramel, himalayan sea salt and sweet brown sugar.
Maple – check! Butterscotch – check! Vanilla – check! Toffee – check!! Sea salt – not sure yet but if it’s there, woohoo!! This scent smelled rich, sweet and amazing.
Melting Maple & Rum:
I used 3 cubes each in two electric melters in my great room – it’s a huge room and two melters work best to fragrance that size room. Once melting… the aroma was traveling within minutes and it smelled good but definitely changed on me. Cold sniff, I smelled everything in the scent description – toffee, maple, vanilla, brown sugar. Once melting, I mostly smelled burnt brown sugar and vanilla. All the other yummy notes went away. At least to my nose anyway. Up close to the melter, I could detect sugary toffee as well but once I moved away and just sniffed the air… vanilla and burnt brown sugar all the way. It didn’t smell bad by any means, I was just hoping for more butterscotch, toffee, maple and caramel.
Strength – I would rate Maple & Rum from Better Homes and 10 out of 10 in any size room. The strength was awesome!
If you love bakery scents, definitely smell Maple & Rum next time you’re at your local Walmart store. Who knows what you might think. It’s a limited addition scent so don’t wait too long if you are interested. Maple & Rum will be gone before you know it.
