We have already gushed about the candles from Ambrosia Flame Candle Company, so we thought we’d try out some of their beautiful wax melts, too. Feeling a little summer-y, Malibu Sunset was calling our name…big time! Would the wax melts impress as much as the candles? Time to find out!

Packaging/Presentation
These Malibu Sunset wax melts were clamshell style, which is what Ambrosia Candle carries. The wax was a natural white and there were red rose embeds in the wax. It made for such a pretty look! The label on the outside had the scent name and company name clearly displayed. Overall, a clean, classy look that was par for course for Ambrosia.
Authenticity
On cold sniff, I thought I smelled a citrusy sweetness – mostly some orange. It was funny because I did not see orange listed in the scent description.

I used 2 cubes in a 24W hotplate melter. The wax started melting right away, as it was fairly soft. I immediately was surrounded by some sweetness and tangy citrus notes. The fragrance was bright and cheery – it definitely put me in beach mode! I could occasionally get some warmth from this scent, which I’m assuming was coming from the rum. This was more of a fruity scent than anything else, but it was a really, really good one. I still think I smelled some orange, but maybe it was the pineapple. It was tropical and fruity and sweet, but not too sweet. Perfection!
Scent Strength & Scent Throw
Malibu Sunset was a moderately strong fragrance. It lingered in the air in the area it was in, making it feel tropical and bright. The scent did not carry far outside that area. I think this would be great for small or medium sized spaces.
Melt Performance
I was able to enjoy hours of scent from my Malibu Sunset wax melt. The two cubes I had in lasted all day long. That left me with four more cubes to enjoy on other days!
Conclusion
Ambrosia Flame has become one of my go-to places for high-quality, beautiful candles. I can definitely say that the wax melts were also up to snuff, with Malibu Sunset putting me in a bright, cheery mood. The prices are reasonable and the customer service is superb. I can’t wait to try more of their products!
