First impression of Pecan Pumpkin Cake:
I’m really not a fan of the brand Mainstays at Walmart but I do try and keep my eye out for scents I think I may like to review. I found one recently… Pecan Pumpkin Cake. It smelled almost identical to Bath & Body Works Pumpkin Pecan Waffles… literally. I ADORE that scent so I couldn’t resist purchasing this candle to see how it compared. I have no expectation of scent throw but you never know… this candle could surprise me and if it does… bonus!

A decadent treat of brown sugar, indulgent butter cream and sweet lemon mingle with an aromatic blend of ginger, nutmeg and scrumptious pumpkin at the heart of this Mainstays jar candle. Vanilla, pecan and sugarcane add richness at the bottom.
Very nice and detailed description. I’m telling you, if you’re a fan of Pumpkin Pecan Waffles from BBW’s and on a budget or just need a quick fix of this scent… this is your candle. To my nose, it smelled identical.
Time to light my candle!
I lit this candle in a small power room to start out and ended up leaving it there from beginning to end. Once the wicks were lit, it took not even 10 minutes to reach a full melt pool and from then on out… Pumpkin Pecan Waffles all the way. It smelled identical only much lighter. This fragrance is sweet and bakery with light pumpkin, lots of bread notes and sugary pecans. YUM!!!!
Strength – on a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this candle an 8 in a small room. Not even sure I would try burning this candle in anything bigger if you’re after maximum scent throw. This candle/brand is definitely better suited to smaller rooms.
How did my candle burn?
This candle burned great. The wicks lit right up and stayed true from start to finish. I did have to keep all three wicks trimmed each day I burned this candle or the flames would get too large but that’s pretty normal maintenance.
Closing to my review:
I’m happy to report, Pecan Pumpkin Cake pleasantly surprised me and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I thought it was pretty realistic and identical to Bath & Body Works Pumpkin Pecan Waffles. Something to keep in mind if you love this scent and are on a budget. These candles are really inexpensive. I think I paid 3 dollars for this candle.
Mainstays brand is found at Walmart stores. What scents they carry varies each season so if you don’t see this scent at your local store, I’m sure it will be back.
