What did my candle smell like?

What a pretty and bright candle Luau Party was, I loved it. The wax was a vibrant orange and the label was colorful as well with a blue background depicting the sky and ocean with two fruity tropical drinks dominating the center. Very nicely done.Tropical Drink See picture above for visual reference.

Let’s start with the scent description:

“Join the celebration . . .every day is a festival with the fun and fruity mix of orange fizz, sparkling peach, and vanilla ice.”

First sniff… very fruity and tart. I picked up on the orange fizz more than anything else. The scent reminded me of sweet tart candy, not so much tropical. I liked it and found it to be a bright and cheery scent.

Yankee candles are generally not very strong for me so I always burn mine in small bathrooms which is where I tested this candle. As expected, it performed perfect in a small room. It took a good 3 hours or more to get a full melt pool and once it reached one, the scent was light but very nice. It smelled exactly as it did cold… a sweet orange candy like scent. I actually thought it smelled like an orange slushy or better yet – a Big Stick Popsicle. Remember those? The popsicles that turn your tongue a bright red? That’s what this fragrance reminded me of.

Strength – this candle as I expected was light. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this one a 4. It scented my small powder room with fragrance quite nicely but anything larger and the scent would be lost. That’s the only bummer with Yankee candles… they are very lightly scented.

candle-flameHow did my candle burn?

My candle burned pretty good. It took hours for the candle to reach full melt pools with each lighting but once it did, it burned perfect. No soot or leftover wax along the walls.

Closing to my review:

I really liked this candle and I would most definitely buy it again. Aside from not smelling any peach, this fragrance smelled pretty close to their scent description. It was a sugary and sweet orange scent. Perfect for summer. Keep in mind, it was lightly scented for me so if you purchase it, stick to a small room to burn it in. Best Scented Candles

Happy candle hunting!
