I can’t get over all the wonderful candle and wax melt companies I’ve discovered on my journey since taking over Candlefind. It seems like there are amazing chandlers across the country, and I have a hard time keeping up with them all! One such company I have enjoyed getting to know is 1133 Candles – a small, family-owned business based in Lakewood, California. They make 100% soy candles and wax melts in just a handful of scents. I recently tried their Love Is Kind wax melts and fell head over heels in…well…love!

Packaging/Presentation
The wax melts from 1133 Candles were so well packaged. They came in decorated cello bags, with each bag wrapped in bubble wrap for protection. You could tell these wax melts were packaged with great care.
The wax melts were shaped in little hearts, all dye-free. I can’t remember how many wax melts were in the bag, but the entire bag consisted of 2.3 ounces of wax. I had several little hearts to play with!
Authenticity
The smell of these wax melts on cold sniff was sooooo lovely! It smelled like I was sticking my nose into a rose bush in full bloom. I could even smell the greenery. Swoon!

Once I started melting the Love Is Kind wax melts, I was even more in love. The smell of rose is what I noticed the most. I wasn’t able to detect the citrus or violet, which is a little sweeter to me. It smelled like deep red roses…mmmm! I could also smell some heavier notes, too – almost woodsy and some green notes. It was absolutely mesmerizing.
Scent Strength & Scent Throw
I used 2 wax melts in my 24W hot plate melter in a large, open kitchen. I could smell the scent as it wafted out into the kitchen. These little wax melts were pretty strong! And I loved how the scent permeated on out into the rest of the house. I could smell the fragrance just about every turn on the lower level of my home. Fantastic!
Melt Performance
My wax melts lasted most of the morning non-stop. I turned the melter off for the evening and fired it back up the next day. I was still able to get more enjoyment out of these melts for most of the day. I finally changed out and added new hearts to the bowl the following day. That’s a lot of mileage out of two little hearts!
Conclusion
I was super pleased with my Love Is Kind wax melts from 1133 Candles. The shapes were fun and packaged well. The scent was fantastic, especially if you’re a floral fan, and they lasted a long time. Considering the price per bag, the longevity made them a really good value. They do not have a huge scent list, but I’m anxious to try their other scents!
