Lemon Verbena Bath & Body Works Candle Review

First impression of Lemon Verbena:

What a pretty candle this was with its bright lemon yellow wax and whimsical label. It was also a candle I HAD to purchase. I love the fresh scent of lemon verbena – when it’s authentic that is, and I’ve tried plenty that haven’t been. The moment I smelled Bath & Body Works version, I smiled from ear to ear. Yes… this candle smelled wonderful and yes, it smelled just like the classic lemon verbena I love. Fresh, sweet and amazing.

Here is the scent description I pulled from the bottom of the candle:

Effervescent lemon zest, verbena blossoms, Lily of the valley

Effervescent lemon zest – check!! Verbena blossoms – check!! Lily of the valley – nope!! To me, this candle was all lemon zest and verbena and if you’ve never experienced this scent before to understand what I’m talking about, here is what I can tell you…. Lemon verbena is an interesting scent. It’s not a classic lemon but sweeter with a little bit of fresh floral as well. It’s not a fruity citrus nor really floral. It’s simply unique, fresh and very uplifting – a scent in a category all by itself.

Now that I’ve confused you even more, let’s see how this candle performs! LOL!

I lit this candle in my master bedroom (a really large room) to see how it would do. Once the wicks were lit, it took about 15 minutes to reach a full melt pool and from then on out…. the soft scent of lemon verbena filled my bedroom. It was authentic, fresh and I loved it… it just wasn’t as strong as I was hoping it would be. As far as the lemon zest component goes… I’m not sure. To me, this candle smelled like a classic lemon verbena. I really liked it, I just wish it would have been a tad stronger.

Strength – I would rate this candle a 7 out of 10 in a large room. 8+ in medium to smaller rooms so I think next time I pick up this candle, I’ll burn it in a smaller room for maximum scent throw.

How did my candle burn?

This candle burned perfect. Zero wick issues (YAY!) It burned clean and even from beginning to end. A+

Closing to my review:

I really enjoyed Lemon Verbena… I just wish the aroma would have been a tad stronger. I still loved it and plan on purchasing it again for sure. If you haven’t tried a lemon verbena scent before, definitely try one. It’s really a lovely and fresh scent.

I don’t see this candle on Bath & Body Works website right now so try one of their stores instead. Their stores tend to carry more fragrances than their website.
