While we have been busy getting to know new candle companies (as well as new-to-us candle companies), there are a few indie companies that we have known for years and still love to frequent. One of our tried and trues is Cheryl’s Candles & Gifts. Oh. My. Goodness! There are almost 2000 scents available from this company and a wide array of candles and melts from which to choose. We could spend hours on this site (and sometimes have…shhhh!). I recently melted her Lemon Mint Leaf wax melt and it was just as amazing as any of her other products I’ve enjoyed.

Packaging/Presentation
The Lemon Mint Leaf wax melt was absolutely adorable. It was shaped like a large honey bee and it was yellow in color. The wax melt itself was HUGE! It was a full 2 ounces but seemed like it was so much more. The level of detail in the honeybee was amazing. It arrived to me shrink wrapped (due to the recent heat wave) and in a small baggie sealed with a gold tie. You could tell a lot of attention went into making and sending this little fella.
Authenticity
On cold sniff I could definitely detect the sharp lemon notes. The lemon was citrusy and bright, not harsh or too tart. I love lemon scents, so I was already loving it.

Once I started melting part of my Lemon Mint Leaf wax melt, I could get the full experience of the scent notes. The lemon was fresh, citrusy, and energizing. There were bits of a zippy, clean minty note that kept wafting in and out throughout the life of the melt. I felt totally refreshed and motivated to get my day going when I put this melt in my warmer.
Scent Strength & Scent Throw
I used about half of this Lemon Mint Leaf wax melt in a 24W hotplate melter. One of the reasons I love lemon scents so much is that the scent is often on the stronger side. I would definitely say this one held true, with the citrus/minty mix being moderately strong. It carried very well throughout my house – I could smell it in the room it was in and on into adjacent areas.
Melt Performance
My Lemon Mint Leaf wax melt lasted several hours in my hotplate melter without missing a beat. I would turn my melter off and on to keep the scent as long as I could. The scent would keep giving off fragrance even as it was cooling off and just sitting open in the warmer. After a couple of days I had eeked out about all I could get from this one, but I still had half a melt left…joy!
Conclusion
Melting this Lemon Mint Leaf wax melt reminded me of why we happen to love Cheryl’s so much. The products are top notch and there is so much variety, it’s incredible! To top it off, Cheryl has got to be one of the sweetest owners we’ve dealt with and her customers have wonderful things to say about her. These days, customer service is tops in our book, and Cheryl just doesn’t disappoint. This particular wax melt is one of my new favorites, and I will definitely be going back for more! The price quoted above in the review box is for a pack of four of the honeybees, which is a really great deal considering the size and longevity of the melts.
