What did my candle smell like?

As soon as I saw this candle sitting on the shelf at Target with its soft lemon colored wax and a picture of Lemon Macaroons on the label, I had to have it. Lemon! And bakery to boot… my favorite combination ever!! So of course I justified the purchase. And I did it blind too since the wax (cold sniff) had very little scent to it. I was hoping the fragrance would come out once the candle was burning. Time to find out…..

I wish I had a scent description to go by but I couldn’t find one. Not even on Chesapeake’s website but we can all guess what it should smell like… sweet lemon cookies…. that’s what I was imagining and hoping for.

I started this candle in a large bedroom to see how it performed… it was worth a try since the candle was pretty large with 3 wicks. The wicks lit up beautifully and before long, maybe 10 minutes, I had a complete melt pool. The scent… a very light but what I could smell was a sweet lemon cookie. It was yummy, just very light. After a full day, I ended up moving the candle to a small bathroom where it performed (scent throw wise) much better. In a smaller room, the fragrance was quite yummy… a sweet and warm lemon cookie. I really liked it… I just wish it would have been a little stronger.

How did my candle burn?

My candle burned perfect. Clean and even burn with full melt pools with each lighting. A+

Closing to my review:

I liked this candle but it was pretty light for the size candle it was. Had the scent throw been a tad stronger, it would have been perfect. I will say, Chesapeake Bay did get the scent right… the fragrance was a sweet lemon cookie you can picture nibbling on with a cup of tea or a tall glass of milk. It was yummy!!
