Key Lime Pie Bath & Body Works Candle Review
By Christina Rylan
Brand: Bath & Body Works
Type: 14.5oz large 3 wick candle
Fragrance: Key Lime Pie
Scent Strength: Strong
First impression of Key Lime Pie:
Citrus and bakery all wrapped up into one yummy scent. That’s Key Lime Pie, and Bath & Body Works version smelled… perfecto!! When I popped off the lid, creamy lime and whipped sugar wafted all around me and it was yum!
Here is the scent description for Key Lime Pie:
Zesty key lime, graham cracker crust, dollop of meringue.
Lime of course stood out the most with the creamiest base that had to be the meringue or what I like to call sugary whipped cream. It just smells fluffy against the tart lime. Was the pie crust there? Yes. I could smell bakery in this scent too. Not as strong as the lime but definitely there.
Time to light my candle!
I lit my Key Lime Pie candle in my master bedroom, my favorite room to burn Bath & Body Works candles in. If any candle can fragrance that huge of a room, it’s Bath & Body Works. Once the wicks were lit, the aroma was all around the candle. Not long after, my entire bedroom, open bathroom and even beyond smelled like sugary limes and meringue. Key lime pie all the way! This was a strong one too. After a few hours, there was not one part of my home this candle couldn’t reach – thankfully, it wasn’t so strong that it gave you a head ache but strong enough that you smelled it no matter where you were. Key Lime Pie is definitely the best of both worlds… citrus and bakery combined. I have to note though, my husband didn’t like this one and made that abundantly clear the moment he walked into our bedroom. He said it smelled “off” and reminded him of burning wood. Wait… what? I smelled none of that. To me, this was Key Lime Pie all the way and told him he needs to get his sniffer checked.
Strength – I would rate Key Lime Pie from Bath & Body Works a 10 out of 10 in any size room. Loved the strength!
How did my Key Lime Pie candle burn?
Sadly, my lucky streak with perfect wicks from Bath & Body Works has come to it’s dashing end. This candle had some issues. It burned great the first half of the candle but the second half, not so well. The wicks turned to little nubbins and then one by one, they kept going out. From then on out, it was a dance to try and keep them lit. I lost.
Closing to my review:
I liked Key Lime Pie. My husband didn’t. What does that mean? It means what it always means… every nose smells a fragrance differently. As in any happy marriage though, my opinion trumps his – I am the reviewer after all. (Teasing) But I do like to add his opinion to my reviews (when he has one) because he never disappoints. Good or bad. 😊
Key Lime Pie smelled exactly like a Key Lime Pie fragrance should. Tart limes, lots of meringue with a hint of bakery. Next time you’re at a Bath & Body Works store, smell this candle and see what you think. If you purchase one, I just hope your candle burns better than mine did. Crossing fingers.
Happy candle hunting!
