Island Papaya – Bath & Body Works Candle Review

First impression of Island Papaya:

First of all… cute candle! The label wrapped around the candle was whimsical and fun – a blue and white ocean beach with flamingo’s cavorting and playing in the water. It was colorful and drew my attention the second I saw it. And then came the scent… Mmmm!! Sweet papaya with lots of tart sugar. Bath & Body Works are masters at creating these tart and luscious tropical scents and Island Papaya was another winner to my nose.

Here is the scent description for this scent:

Tropical coconut, fresh papaya, sugarcane with essential oils.

Boy did I nail this one. Sweet papaya and sugar! That is exactly what this candle smells like. Coconut? Oh, I hope so! I’d love me some creamy and tropical coconut. That would make this fragrance absolutely perfect!

Let’s get to burning!

I lit my Island Papaya candle in my master bedroom to start out and that’s where it stayed till the last drop of wax. I love it when a Bath & Body Works candle can fragrance a large room and Island Papaya did just that. The aroma….. perfection! My entire bedroom smelled like the sweetest tropical smoothie with lots and lots of sugar and tartness. I don’t know what element Bath & Body Works adds to their tropical scents but the sweet and tart aspect is always so well balanced. This candle smelled like juicy papaya with crushed sweet tart candies, and it was fresh as can be. Loved!!

Strength – I would rate Island Papaya an 8 out of 10 in a large room – not knock-your-socks-off strong but strong enough to fill my large bedroom with aroma. 10 out of 10 in medium to smaller rooms.

How did my Island Papaya candle burn?

This candle burned perfect. Zero wick issues – YES!!!! Clean and even burn from beginning to end. I was very happy.

Closing to my review:

I loved Island Papaya and would totally purchase this candle again. It was summery, sweet, tart and refreshing. Another clear winner from Bath & Body Works. Definitely give this candle a sniffie next time you’re near one of their stores and see what you think.

Don’t see Island Papaya on Bath & Body Works website? Try one of their stores which tends to carry all their current scents vs online. Don’t know why that is but that’s generally the case.
