What Did My Island Coconut Candle Smell Like?
Island Coconut from Illume was absolutely 100% my cup of tea. When I saw this candle at Target and popped off the lid, I smiled in glee. I smelled creamy and rich coconut blended with sweet sugar and I swear I could have sworn banana too. Not sure though since I don’t have a scent description to go off of. Bummer on that. Suffice it to say this candle smelled like a sweet tropical drink you’ll want to enjoy by a resort pool or beach. A drink filled with sugar and tropical fruits – yummy!!
Time to find out how this candle burns!
I lit this candle in my master bedroom to start out and not long after moved it to a small bathroom where it stayed for the rest of its duration. This candle (even with two wicks) was lightly scented so a small room worked best for maximum scent throw. The aroma… a sweet tropical coconut with an even blend of sugar and hints of subtle pineapple. I liked it, it was just a little too lightly scented for me.
Strength – on a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this candle a 2 in a large room. 5 in a medium room and 6/7 in a really small room.
How Did My Island Coconut Candle Burn?
This candle burned pretty good. No wick issues. Clean burning from start to finish.
Closing To My Review:
I love coconut fragrances and really enjoyed this candle, I just wish it was a tad stronger. For this size candle and having two wicks, my expectations were hopeful it would be a room filler. Alas, it wasn’t meant to be.
Next time you’re at Target, check out this line of candles from Illume. Island Coconut smelled pretty good… a perfect scent if you’ve been craving something tropical and sweet. Just remember it’s lightly scented.
Happy candle hunting!

Denise,
This scent is seasonal so watch for it in the spring. I see it every spring and summer at Target.
