A Mandatory Activity is one of those companies I’ve started adding to my normal candle rotation. The tongue-in-cheek scent names, the clean burns, and the affordable prices make this a sure bet for us around Candlefind. We did a company review a few months ago, and this company was in our April subscription boxes. Today, I’d like to share my thoughts of one of my personal faves, I’m Sexy And I Mow It.

Packaging/Presentation
The candle that I had was their 8oz candle tin, with a brown kraft type label wrapped around the silver tin. The candle had a wood wick and the wax was off white. 
There was no mistaking the company or scent name as this was prominently displayed on both the body and lid of the candle. There was also a brief description of the scent on the label – love that! I also liked that they hand wrote in the actual net weight of the candle.
Authenticity
On cold sniff, this candle smelled clean and fresh – much like freshly cut grass! The scent was slightly sweet and it smelled very authentic. Looking at the scent description:

Once lit, the sweetness of the scent was more noticeable. It was soft and fresh and clean…just like stepping out into a freshly mown field! I absolutely loved it!
Scent Strength & Scent Throw
The scent strength of this candle was moderately strong – it was strong enough for me to know it was there but was not overpowering. I kept this tin in a small bedroom and it did a good job of scenting that space. I could detect the scent a little bit out into the hallways. Very refreshing!
Burn Performance
I got a complete wax melt pool in a very short period of time. The crackling of the wick was a nice plus and added a bit of ambiance. I have had trouble with some wooden wicks staying lit, but not with this one. It stayed lit until I was ready to snuff it out. I trimmed a bit of the wooden wick and then was ready to light again – no problems!
The candle also had a nice, slow burn. I was able to enjoy this candle for about twelve 4-hour burns, putting it right at that 48 hour mark. Sweet!
Conclusion
I’ve enjoyed burning my candles from A Mandatory Activity. I’m Sexy And I Mow It is probably one of my favorites that I’ve burned so far. It has that masculine vibe to it without being “too” masculine for my nose. Just fresh, clean, and green! I’m thinking these candles would probably make great gifts for a friend or two. While the tins are a little on the pricier side, I do think the longevity of the burn makes it worth it.
