First impression of Hot Cocoa & Scream:
Hot Cocoa & Scream was such a fun Halloween candle I couldn’t resist reviewing. The design was SO DARLING!! The wax was a light avocado green with the coolest glittery label of a whimsical graveyard with bats, gravestones and a Day of the Dead skeleton bride. Loved, LOVED the label!!
Here is the scent description I pulled from the bottom of the candle:
Deep dark chocolate, fresh steamed milk, mischievous mini marshmallows.
So this is obviously the same scent as Hot Cocoa & Cream, only this candle just has a fun Halloween theme with green wax. Mmmm… and I must say, it smelled so good! I smelled creamy milk chocolate and marshmallows the most and it was sweet and creamy delicious. Hoping the scent stays true once the wicks are lit.
Let’s find out!
I lit my Hot Cocoa & Scream candle in my master bedroom to start out. Once lit, it took a good half hour or more before I could really start noticing the aroma and that basically told me I needed to move this candle to a smaller room. In my guest bedroom it went where it performed much better. My entire guest bedroom smelled like sweet hot chocolate with marshmallows and you could clearly smell the marshmallows. I loved that! Seeing the candle burning was fun too, and interesting. Green wax and hot cocoa? Yeah, that was definitely odd to digest but boy did I enjoy the aroma. Sweet and milky chocolate with lots of gooey marshmallows. YUM!! – nothing spooky about this scent.
Strength – I would rate this candle a 6 out of 10 in a really large room. 8 in a medium and 10 in a small.
How did my candle burn?
This candle burned like a dream. Perfect burning wicks (I even had to trim them) and it burned clean from beginning to end. Very pleased.
Closing to my review:
If you love chocolate scents and on the creamier side, this is definitely a candle to try. Hot Cocoa & Scream won’t be around long since it’s a Halloween candle but it’s the same scent as Hot Cocoa & Cream so purchase that one if you’re interested.
I loved this fragrance and found it to be pretty authentic. It isn’t super strong but gives a nice medium throw so stick to a medium or smaller room to burn it in for maximum scent throw.
