Intro To My Candle Review

Tis the season for holiday scents – from candy canes, to baked goodies, to the lovely smell of freshly cut Christmas trees. And if you’re looking for holiday scented candles, Seventh Avenue Apothecary has you covered. They have a number of delectable scents that sound like they would be perfect when you decide to roast chestnuts by the fire. This new to me company had a spin on the typical Christmas tree scented candle with a scent called Fraiser Fir + Thyme. I was excited to try candles from this brand, as I have heard really good things about them. What better way to get my feet wet than with one of their holiday bestsellers?!

First Impressions of My Holiday Scented Candle

Seventh Avenue Apothecary is considered a luxury brand of candles and luxurious it is. The glass jars have a heavy glass bottom that carries a bit of weight in the hand. The signature glass collection candles come with double wicks, which is really nice for this size jar (14 ounces). Seventh Avenue believes in “minimalistic packaging and recyclable containers,” which is evident in the neat way they’ve opted to top these candles. The candle lid is made of recycled paper, which I found interesting. The wax is 100% soy with the natural off-white color. Overall, a beautiful presentation.

On my first cold sniff of Fraiser Fir + Thyme, I fell in love. I could smell the distinct ‘Christmas tree’ kind of scent, but there was more…a slightly sweet note that was intoxicating. I looked to the website to learn more about this scent:

From Seventh Avenue Apothecary’s Website

Aha! The apple and berry notes were the sweetness I was getting from this scent. Lovely! I couldn’t quite get thyme on cold sniff, but I was sold and ready to see what would happen on the burn. I lit the candle in my open kitchen area and went about my business. Within 30 minutes, I was greeted with the most festive and beautiful scent…ahhhhh! I could smell the crisp scent of the Frasier fir tree, which reminds me of a Christmas tree every time I smell it. The sweet notes of apple and berry swirled around it and kept the scent from being too “piney.” As the candle continued to burn, I smelled more green notes, which I’m attributing to the thyme. The scent mix was DIVINE! I couldn’t get enough of it. The scent was moderately strong and I could smell it all throughout the main living area of the house. Even when I snuffed it out, the candle gave off a great aroma every time I walked by.

How Did My Holiday Scented Candle Perform?

Since this candle had a double wick, I was able to get a full wax melt pool very quickly. The candle burned evenly all the way down. I didn’t have much in the way of wick maintenance – just the normal trim in between burns. I never noticed any black sooting. This candle lasted a long time, even with double wicks. I easily got a 60-hour burn out of my candle.

Closing To My Holiday Scented Candle Review

I’m blown away by my introduction to Seventh Avenue Apothecary candles. Fraiser Fir + Thyme is a beautiful scent and the candle is high quality, through and through. This one is easily now on my list of favorite holiday scents and will be sure to make my upcoming Best Of lists. It’s Candlefind Editor's Choicejust that good! If you’re looking for a little twist on the typical Christmas tree scent, try Fraiser Fir + Thyme from Seventh Avenue Apothecary – I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
